I gotta know if anyone Vapes at your local Theater. Any problems? Conflicts? Anyone give you any(MODERATED) ?

I just saw a post somewhere and the member stated he was going to see the Great Gatsby and he was going to vape as a "throw back" or for support for the good old days. I thought that was funny and also because I really enjoy vaping while at the movies. I use a juice that has no smell.

Hey-o... I have vaped at a few movies now and really enjoyed it with no trouble. I sat in the back row and made sure no one was close to me. What did concern me was the noise my eCig would make and my LED light (eGo C-Twist model), so I vaped during the loud parts while trying to cover the light as best as I could. I did see another flick where it was a bit more crowded, so I didn't want to risk it.

THIS is why the limits to post in the general forums instead of the noob section should be raised to at least 50 posts.....100 would be even better.

There have been no appreciable amounts of toxins found in the vapor from electronic cigarettes and as far as nicotine goes, the vapor from our PVs has been shown to dissipate harmlessly and quickly into the air in several scientific studies with only trace levels of nicotine present.

A 6% solution of nicotine would be 60mgs, you'll be hard pressed to find most people using 36mg or 3.6% and even then were talking about parts per million in regards to your absurb notion of second-hand vapor.

PG (one of the main components in e-juice) is routinely pumped into hospitals because of its antibacterial properties.

You can find all of this information at the CASAA site.

In short, people are at more of a risk for toxins breathing in wood smoke at a cookout or in rolling their car window down on a hot day and breathing in exhaust fumes.

Funny we dont hear you complaining about that at all.

Your concerns are unfounded and also suspect at this point as you sound more like an uninformed and biased member of ANTZ than an ex-smoker or vaper.

Well stated, zapped. Not only do we have several respected studies that show exhaled vapor is not harmful, we also have well respected anti smoking advocates with years of experience stating the same thing. Yet you have a noob who has been vaping for "one minute" and hasn't done the research claiming "the sky is falling". I always wonder how someone like this thinks they are smarter than people with MD's & Phd's who have years of study and experience.

The information is out there. No sense going on hearsay when we have all the research and evidence. Ignorance is not an excuse. In saying that i do understand where you are coming from in respect to vaping around other people. At the end of the day there more toxins in the air we breath already, trace nicotine will not make a difference.

Agreed.

Here's two of the most recent studies;
Characterization of chemicals released to the environment by electronic cigarette use
Comparison of the effects of e-cigarette vapor and cigarette smoke on indoor air quality

Basically, you'd have to lock lips with an active vapor to get any kind of appreciable nicotine from them. End of story. PG is used in air systems for hospitals and nursing homes. VG is in hand lotions, glycerin soaps, natural deodorants etc., and my vapor has less of a scent than any of those.

As to vaping in the theater, I did it in Iron Man 3 this weekend. The house was packed and I was on the 6th row from the front. I held my vapor and then exhaled the leftover tiny amounts toward the floor. No one said a word and no visit from the teen with the vest and flashlight.

I vaped at the counter getting popcorn before going in the theater. The two elderly women in front of me straight maddogged me and one of them says in a mean voice "There is no SMOKING here"

I assured here it was not tobacco and gave her a demonstration of how it works. Turns out one of them was a smoker and said she will give vaping a chance.

I vape everywhere I go. These days very few people say anything about it or even give funny looks anymore. Back a few years ago before the vapor explosion I was doing the ecig breakdown to almost every person who saw vapor come out of my mouth. Most were very interested but still unsure of the whole thing. Nowadays nobody even looks twice at them.

Well, out of curiosity I called the theater to see what their policy on ecigs was, they must be used outside and not in the building. We're going tomorrow to see Iron Man. I'm still gonna give it a go at stealth vaping. I just tried to double inhale technique, Awesome!! :D

On another note, I went to a baseball game last night, the Tigers won! Woot Woot!, and I was told to Vape in the smoking section. Not a biggie since I was there with my friend who smokes, until I was there and felt like I smoked 5 cigarettes standing there in the time that it took her to smoke her cigarette. Gross!

The good news is, I had no cravings for a smoke. I would still get them from time to time. I am over cigarettes! I will never have one again!!! Yay for me! :D
