I'll just say this...I searched for these people for a good portion of the night and only found arrest records and no obituary and no family or friends talking about a passing. I'll let PayPal and my CC company work it out.

I'll also say that this forum is full of honest and hard working folk and these criminals won't faze me.

Agreed on all counts

Now it is time for me to post up on this thread...i have the exact similar situation to everyone else on this thread...bought an aga-t an rsst and a bunch of rba supplies from heather hudson and the same story....funny thing is that i would not have stumbled across this thread if i didnt explain the situation to a personal friend and ecf member kerplunk17...i was probably just going to wait it out and wait it out then prob throw my hands up like i give up....i was very hesitant to file any disputes for a grieving wife, and stirring up any extra added pain in their lives....not that i am passing judgement yet, as there are no notes from moderators saying that this indeed was a scam, but if these peiple are sending money for the same item or are too compassionate to file a dispute, that heather hudson potentially made a sizeable amount off even ten people who dont make that dispute...mine was 35...provaris and gus can be rather expensive...35+100+whatever can add up real quick and be a fast payday for a scammer...a shame we try to trust in the good in people and this seems to happen all over, the place...will now file my dispute...feeling slightly more apprehensive about the forums and it sucks

Yeah this situation sucks but don't be apprehensive about buying on the forums. There are a lot of good people here. I've made over 20 purchases in the short few months I've been here without any issues. (Before this one) I've met some real cool people in the classies.

Just be careful and make sure to always pay for goods. Don't ever gift the money. :)

Edit:

It helps if you look to buy from supporting members too and always look at feedback scores. If someone hasn't sold here before ill only buy small ticket items that wouldn't hurt my wallet if I was scammed

I'd like to see ecf make it that in order to sell you must be a supporting member and have a verified Paypal account

It's not the forums responsibility. Every other forum I belong too specifically state use the B/S/T Forums at your own risk. In fact this is the only forum that I had to qualify to use the Classifieds. When people complain about B/S/T Forums to much they get closed.

More the issue is that with paypal, we're buying and selling items that aren't allowed on their service. Limits your options and makes the sale vague to begin with from a claim perspective.

i appreciate your hand involved with this situation modders...its nice to have a group of advocates on the consumer's side, not giving a situation such as this a blind eye...i have seen some other sites with a hands off policy, where the people who run such sites shy away as soon as person to person conflicts arise...i slipped classwife an message as soon as i suspected something wrong (before i found this thread), and classwife responded literally ten minutes later...we understand your attempts to stay neutral until the facts are sorted out, and inability to jump to conclusions, much like all of us who are involved are. We appreciate your attempts to thwart any wrongdoings towards the many honest, hard-working members here...kudos classwife and joker and any other moderators that may have their hand in this...we appreciate your hard work

Yeah, j0ker responded right away to the issue. With the information he had at the time it seemed like a legit excuse.

I already got my money back through my CC company while they investigate. I would assume they would just get no response from the seller and the case would be closed. I went through my CC company because I just didn't like that PayPal wanted me to wait 3 days to escalate it up as a claim, then 10 more days for a response from the seller...then god knows how much longer to get my money back. PayPal seemed a bit more interested after my CC company contacted them...haha.

I wish you all a bit of luck and hope for similar outcomes.

Things might not be able to be shared publicly, but they are never ignored.

Edit to add:
Sometimes there is a lot of tongue biting and sitting on your hands involved...
