fingers crossed for all of you! i'm interested though if paypal will reimburse for any claims that were funded straight through a linked bank account. the info i got years ago indicated that would only happen if there were funds in the seller's paypal account.
since then i have paid using my visa card as the funding option and not my bank account.
it would be good to know if there have been changes in paypal's policies.

I noticed the PayPal account was unverified too. I thought you had to have a verified pp account for the classifieds.
Sorry but it doesn't add up to me and seems like a def scam. I have done eBay and craigslist for about 10 years I know when stuff doesn't add up. ..

From what I have had to do with PayPal is it doesn't matter if they have money in the account or not. I have disputed when the scammer closes the account and I still get my money back. PayPal then usually goes after them. They can look up ip addresses and thus finding physical addreses. Paypal is a good company and never have I had a problem with them.

I haven't forgotten y'all. I drop in to see updates from post. With all the information that is coming in, it does appear that this was most likely a scam. Keep in mind I said appears! I still haven't found anything conclusive to support either side of this story. I have reached out to the local police department where they reside but I have not received a response as of yet. I'm hoping they can help confirm whether he is deceased or not. Until then I'm leary to state a definite conclusion to this ordeal. So please be patient, we are working on this but the pace is controlled by the response fro the PD.

Someone stated they thought everyone had to have a verified PayPal account, that is not correct. If you read the instructions, there are more methods than just the PayPal option. Besides, someone could become verified with their PayPal account then soon after disconnect their bank account or even ask members to pay to an account different from what the became verified with. As we always tried to say, it's the members prerogative to protect themselves. There's only so much we can do, so as long as you follow the guidelines and protect yourself, most all issues can be resolved amicably for you. If you don't then you've made it almost impossible for you to recover anything. So those that paid via gift, they will most likely have to take the loss. No, I'm not a preacher....but I play one on the forum

I haven't heard anything yet. They have until June 25th to responded to my PayPal escalated claim. I feel that this was 100% a scam.. file your claims. They probably have already emptied their PayPal and Bank account out. I don't know how we are going to get our money back if you paid through PayPal Bank Account transfer. Looking back at my situation, there were signs of a scam in the emails. I feel like, I just had my Vapor Scam Cherry popped. Man am I sore and I will be much more cautious about it. I would have rather flushed $125 down the toilet, then let these unethical people walk around with my dime. I will no longer be buying anything from anyone in the classies without a positive score. My two cents. I will update on June 26th.

They had a 100% positive rating at the time we bought the stuff. The only clue we had was just the amount of stuff they were selling...but even then it would have been hard to believe they were scamming.

im in the same boat here... paid for 2 terminator c RBAs here was told it would ship next day, then that it would ship Monday, then the ICU/file a refund. at first i saw all of the other items they had for sale... i was worried this was a scam but decided to just file with paypal and wait it out... deadline is 24th so i guess i'll see what happens. I did PM the other user on the sell thread to see if they also paid but no word back yet. was a direct bank transfer. hoping to start seeing others getting their money back in the next week...
