Back in the day, we didn't have the device options that we do now. Auto 901's and 510's, maybe a box mod, etc., but today it's a whole other theme park full of options, gear, mods, FV, VV, so many choices, so little time. Don't get me started on the choices of juice....it's a wonderland of flavors. My point being.....imo these are easier times to quit smoking. It took a month for me to stop completely because the little 901 stix didn't supply the throat hit or enough flavor to kick it in gear. Wish we had Ego's back then. I must say that I started @ 36mg and now down to 10mg. Hoping to cut that down in the near future.....but I will never stop vaping. It's delicious! So, keep on keepin' on you newbies, it's a great ride.

I definitely did not quit the first time i picked up an automatic "smoke 51" battery. However the first time i borrowed my friends inferno(ego) i quit. I quickly ordered a lavatube and havent had a cig since. I have taken a drag here and there from friends cigs to remind myself how horrible analogs are! I made the commitment tho and when i took some puffs off the inferno i tossed out what cigs i had left and said dont buy any more. If they were around im sure i woulda had a week moment here and there

Funny you mention that HairyChin... when I first bought my ego-C, I was focused on having the tobacco flavor as well. When I asked about the different tobacco flavors the shopkeeper said, "I don't know, since I quit cigarettes why would I want to continue smoking tobacco flavors when I can have Apple, Blueberry, Mountain Dew, etc.)"

There was one guy ahead of me in line and he ordered a Strawberry-Mountain Dew combo, so when I ordered, I got 2 different tobacco flavors and, "just to be different" a Mountain Dew Cantaloupe mixture. Since the starter kit had small cartridges, I loaded up a couple different flavors, and damn.. the best was the MD+C mixture. Now I get a variety of flavored juices and mix-and-match. Never thought I'd like the sweeter flavors but maybe I do now because my taste buds are coming back?

I've quit offically now, sig has my numbers thus far. Yah went back and forth on it from analogs to my Ego T-tank system. Finally found a set-up that worked for me. Had to adjust to the differences though. The E-Cig dosen't deliver Nic as quickly as an analog and something that takes a bit of getting used to. Once I got the timing down now can't really do regular cig's anymore...my lungs don't like it.

I bought a cheap metro kit on a whim. Never looked back. Spent a week on the Metro while I waited for my first vaping kit (2, 1000mah twists and 4 Kangar T2's (with some replacements heads,) a charger, and several sample packs of juice. I had about 12 flavors to try when I started.

That was mid September, 6 weeks before my 40th Birthday. I had never even thought seriously about quitting (I was severely addicted and was up to 50 sticks a day.) I had joked all the previous year that I was going to quit on my 40th but wasn't serious and bought that Metro thinking "ah what the Hell, its 15 bucks, what can it hurt?"

I Kept a pack of Salems on my desk the first month thinking I might need them. I threw those out on my birthday. I won't be looking back. Without this technology, I truly believe I would have been dead before 50. I couldn't even get dressed without getting winded.

When I got my first PV I was able to cut back from a couple packs a week to just bumming a cigarette in social situations. But then I got tired of vaping and stopped for about a year. However I still only bought around 5 packs in that whole time and only smoked in social settings very in frequently. I just started vaping again and am hoping i can give up cigarettes for good this time.

I was done with cigarettes the moment I got my PV. I didn't know it at the time, and had a pack of cigs with 19 left, sitting in my car for weeks. Was never even tempted to light up, so eventually I just tossed them in the trash. It's only been a little over two months since I quit, but I do not foresee interest in lighting up ever again.

I'm just wondering how many of you all quit analogs once they got their first e cig/pv? I've tried my friends' ecigs and am getting my first one in the mail tomorrow. Hoping I can get off analogs right away, maybe input could give me motivation for that? Plus I'm simply curious.

I quit as soon as I got one, though I did smoke a little while on holiday last week in Amsterdam. Now I'm back home I have not smoked at all and do not intend to, I didn't realise how much stale smoke (badly) smells until I gave up. I felt really embarrassed on the plane home as I could smell the tobacco on my clothes from the coffee shops :-/

I did! I was so amazed. I really can't even tell you how many tobacco cigarettes I was smoking at the time but it was non-stop. I went to rolling my own because I couldn't afford to buy enough of them and when they added the carpet glue rings to make them fire safe it was awful. I spent hours and hours rolling cigs just to keep up with myself. I have found as many as three lit ones all going at the same time. And let me tell you I defended my smoking! I told my doctor to leave me alone about it, I refused to listen to my kids when they bugged me. I knew that I would die smoking before I gave it up. And then I got a little look alike e cig just so I could smoke in their cars. From the first drag on that little thing I knew that I was going to switch. And I have. I will never smoke another regular cigarette. I am still addicted to nicotine and probably always will be but now I can say that I am tobacco free and having a great time with vaping!

I was smoking 2+ PAD. I knew I was ready, the day the starter kit arrived was the last day I had an analogue. My join date is 2 or 3 days after I got the starter kit. I kept a pack in the drawer for a month and ended up giving them to a neighbor. That neighbor and countless others now vape exclusively also.
I still cant believe how easy it was to switch. I was chain vaping 24 mg at the time and now I chain 6 mg only. I love it and will vape forever.

I had been thinking of quitting for ages, and decided I'd use the new (at the time) e-cigs that I'd heard people talking about. My first order is from Jan 2009, and when it came I hooked it up and haven't touched an analogue since. I've switched models about 20 times now, and I'm looking at switching again soon I think. Some of the newer apv's are very appealing.

Well back in 2010 I purchased a blucig which ended up turning me away from vaping for years and I just recently had the urge to give it one more go, thankfully. I purchased an eGo 900mAh passthrough with a tankomizer from a vapor shop near me with some 24mg nic tobacco flavor/mint blend (trying to replicate the taste of Marlboro Smooths) on 30 Nov and I haven't touched an analog after that. I did feel as though I was having withdrawls for the first few days and had a horrible smokers cough but that went away and I am feeling better than ever :)
