some great, insightful and friendly posts on this thread, thanks all that contributed. Baditude's post was rocking.
Im only little more than a month in on this "journey", and its been expensive, but fun.
Quickly, the first half of the month, was trial and error, and sketchy guidance from B&M folks that meant well, but weren't too well informed. Went from a ego like small battery / tank with long wicks ( lizard Juice here in FL ), in a few days needed MOAR VAPE.. swapped that tank to a Kanger Evod. Better.. but still.. not there. wicking was sketchy, had to dry pull frequently to get a good hit. Couldn't chain vape.. it was a good draw if it sat a few minutes, 2-3.. then weak sauce. and battery life was meh.. went dead in the evening at a mtg...
next day, got a Aspire Nautilus and a Atmos Rx Power-vape mod. was better. the power-vape is a provari looking like thing, big, 18650, vv, but still struggled with consistent good draws. like the evod, I would go dry, or heat up. and the best draws would be after putting it down for a few minutes. still frustrated. went and saw this young friend of mine at a higher end B&M, Purely Vape in Tampa, bought what I said originally I wouldn't do.. a dripper. Cartel clone with a Tobh clone atty. dual coils, running at .4 LOTS of cooler airy vapor! but its heavy and messy, and cumbersome for me. Im a 52 yo IT professional, and its not something Im going to sport around the office. Plus having to feed it every other draw.
but then I found ECF. I've spent 2 weeks + pouring over this board. still lots more to learn, read, understand. PM's with helpful folks, etc. At least with the cartel/tobh, I learned to wrap coils etc. Saw and bought the Vapor Shark rDNA 30 box mod. LOVE that thing. Bought a R91 in black to put on top of it, and after a failed wicking effort, got truly amazing results. 1.6 ohm coil, 9-watts on the VS rDNA.. is amazing flavor! 5 Pawns Queenside, and there are so many notes of flavor! Plus, its looks freaking amazing. Small box in black with the Black R91.. Im totally comfortable sporting that at the office. Presents as state of the art.
before the VS / R91 arrived, I had started digging into the REO threads.. and well.. I saw one pop on the classifieds, so I jumped. Been using the VS R91 and REO grand sl/lp both.. for over the weekend.
Oh, and I had ordered the New BVC coils the week before and a Nautilus Mini. I learned something
IMPORTANT. All tanks / RBA's etc.. benefit significantly from a
Quality MOD. That Old Nautilus with the BVC's on top of VS rDNA? freaking totally new life, like a new device. highly recommend using a GOOD MOD, and the Aspire BVC coils.
So, atm, I weighing keeping the REO or not. This VS R91 combo , with the same juice, really.. better than the REO. The REO on the other hand--- simple, functional ( learning squonking though.. still.. not simple ), much bigger Vapor than the VS rDNA / R91, airy.
But man.. again.. the Flavor is compelling with the VS / R91. I'm thinking I'll give up the bigger clouds, simple functionality, and airy draw of the REO.. for the amazing flavor and gorgeous performance of the VS / R91..
what to do! Guess I could keep both.. but.. Id kind of like to recover at least
some of the money I spent in the fast month! Blew about a Grand so far. or maybe Ill say screw it and keep both!
