Why are drippers so common as far as RBA's/RDA's?

Hardcore cloud chasers aside. For the average vaper, what makes drippers so popular? There seem to be plenty of gennies out there that are capable performing the same with the benefit of having a tank.

That being said, why would someone willingly carry around a bottle of juice when they could just get a genny, throw a cotton or similar build on it and have an auto dripper? Is it because most people don't realize you can build gennies like drippers?

I'm sorry, didn't want to read through ALL 50 some odd replies so I'll just give you my opinion.

As of right now, RDA's are all I use. The reasoning behind it is:
1. Flavor - IMO, dripping provides the most flavorful hits
2. Vapor Production - Obviously, you know dripping is where it's at if you want clouds. I also enjoy the feeling (throat hit) that RDA's produce because of the amount of vapor, as well as the heat of the coils.

Honestly, it's nothing for me to have my mod, a bottle of juice, and even an extra battery on me throughout the day. I almost always have my backpack with me too, so all my gear stays in there for the most part.

I have a Bliss v1 I drilled out and build as an auto-dripper dual coil with cotton... its hits as well as, if not slightly better than...in terms of vapor production... both my Tobh and Omega... and flavor is definitely on par. BUT... i tend to ONLY use it on long drives.. which ends up being every couple of months at most. As my daily, I prefer my Tobh and Omega. My primary reason is that one tank wont last the day, so I end up carrying a bottle with me anyways... but with the addition of a syringe for filling.

So for daily carry, I simply prefer to drip... dripping isn't much of a hassle to me and i'd end up carrying a bottle of juice even if I ran my auto-dripper anyways... so no convenience is gained in doing so. Of course, I could use a larger capacity tank, but then I start increasing the size of my mod more than i'd like.

Right now I run a Nanos with a Tobh, and its pretty darn small. I prefer the minimal size over what i consider a MINOR convenience in having a tank.

But having said that, for long drives, my auto-dripper is a ABSOLUTE MUST!!! And i do love vaping it... and I can easily see how someone would use it as a daily.

Edit: oh.. and my auto-dripper doesn't seem to have an issue leaking either. I'm not really sure why as it did leak when wicked with SS... But for some reason with cotton, i don't run into leaking issues. go figure...

My occasional cloud chasing aside, I like RDAs better still, I've tried single and dual coil RBAs, but still haven't bought one, I actually went into a B&M today to buy an RBA but walked out with a dripper. I like RDAs better because, I don't want to be stuck with same flavor for too long and don't want to have to keep changing tanks when I can just drip and burn it off, also I can get a nic fix in a few hits on a RDA and I like a warm-hot vape, that I haven't felt yet trying RBAs and I like the flavor better dripping with the right setup. But, I'll eventually give in and get one to save juice and drive with. I also can and have significantly reduced my nic level just from dripping in a short time.
