Why are so many vapers against themselves?

It's not at all a matter of cowering my friend. It's a matter of being Ambassadors of the vape. This means being ultra polite and well-spoken about our wonderful habit. It means teaching people about vaping with charm and intelligence, not forcing it on them or alienating them.

We are vaping at a very important time in history. We are the first - the entrepreneurs, the introduce-rs. The way we comport ourselves is going to be the catalyst to how vaping is viewed across the nations. And as such, the way we comport ourselves can save lives.

So I beg you - take it seriously. It's not just about me and my right to inhale luscious vapor. It's about millions upon millions of people who are addicted to tobacco... and their families and loved ones too. So let's take it slow and do it right.

Excellent post. Let's do this right. Educate. Don't alienate.

Reading through many of the articles on this forum I notice that many vapers seem to take the attitude that other vapers should cower to the whims of the antz. They say don't smoke in restaurants, stores are not okay, and basically taking the attitude that if smoking is not allowed there, then they don't want to vape there.

What part of PRIVATE PROPERTY laws do you not understand?

(Do they not teach this concept in school anymore or what?)

I vape all over the place. I have done this for 18 months.

But if I am on private property, and somebody tells me I can't vape, I don't.

WHY is it so important to know people's reasons???

I have signs on my property that say no hunting. I am not against hunting at all.
I just do not want it taking place on MY property. Is that okay? It upsets my dogs, I dislike having strangers tromping around, and I dislike having the sound of gunshots disturb my quiet sunday mornings.

And besides, I own it, and I tell them to clear off---- they don't NEED to have my reasons, bedcause they are trespassing. :)

This is the strangest thread.
First there was smoking almost everywhere by almost everyone.
Next there was smoking in designated places only.
Next the smoking areas were moved to out of town.
Next there was no smoking allowed at all, not even in your own condo.

First there was vaping in the designated first old smoking areas.
Next there were vapers(?) yelling how rude that is.
Next there were ANTZ yelling to ban it from town.

All we want, is for the designated area to be put back where they belong, for everybody. That's what I want, anyway. Smoking areas, close by, vaping sections even closer. Vaping is not smoke and the incredibly rude obnoxious paranoid fanatics still get 3/4 of the world. Give people their taxpayers land and rights back.

Nobody's demanding for to vape everywhere at anytime. Yet that's all we're hearing from the naysayers. I call foul.

Edited part

After a good nights sleep, I write this.
What I want is
A. Businesses to have their rights back. Period.
B. signs that show full steam ahead, or polite section only, or down your shirt only areas.
C. Education. Educate the ignorant so they don't panic or toss a fit over inert vapor.

It's NOT smoke!!!!!

Outdoors, I feel free to vape wherever I like. I smoked in public, so I certainly don't have any qualms about vaping in public. I would, however, make exceptions for the sake of respect and courtesy. If someone unavoidably close to me found it nauseous, or worse, and asked me to stop, I would. (I've never been asked before, I'd just be willing if need be.)

Indoors, I only vape (eat, take off my shoes, etc.) with permission of the homeowner, proprietor, or their representatives. I rarely bother, to be honest, since I'm usually not in any place very long, but I only vape in someone else's home or business with permission. Even then I would be willing to stop if someone unavoidably close to me found it nauseous (or worse). (No one's asked in these circumstances, either.) I wouldn't want a cloud of menthol banana around my expensive dinner, as others have mentioned, so I can understand other people not wanting my vape around theirs.

In any event, I am more than happy to share information about vaping with anyone who asks.

None of this seems complicated to me.

VERY nicely put. But to "it's not about me" I would add "it's not about you, either" (the OP). It's something all of us have a stake in. 45 years of smoking are history now (matter of fact, 6 months today!). It scares me when I hear of people flaunting their "rights" to vape wherever they want because it's not (yet) illegal. Do they not realize what that does to the image of vapers? I vape cumulus clouds in my house and car but I'm just not gonna infringe on someone else's right to enjoy their smoke/vapor free area at the neighborhood market. It's just common sense and a sensibility about other people's feelings. Without it, we do much damage to our common interest. And give ammunition to the forces that would curtail what we are part of. I might even say grow up and stop it.

But because im a fellow vapor, friendly and respectful, you will allow me to hunt your private land that hasn't seen a hunter?

I live in a medium sized college town and everytime I walk in somewhere i.e. restaurants, small businesses, I always ask someone working there if they're e-cig friendly. To my surprise about 9% of the places are! Especially the restaurants/bars. I've actually been quite happy. I guess its because its a liberal arts college town.

Treat any other group in our society the same way.

This is why we have voting laws, fair housing laws, etc.

Some of you should feel rather sheepish for comparing yourselves to some of the truly deplorable inequalities that have transpired in not only US history but all over the world....some are still on going.

Maybe some have lost touch with what "true suffering" is under those kinds of circumstances. :(

I...I...I think I love you.

In a totally platonic, non-weird, non-"who the hell IS this freaky stalker stranger?" sort of way, of course.

(clearing throat) Well, anyway. Carry on...

Heck, sawtooth, I even have neighbors in the region who won't let us fish their pond. I am imagining the very large bass that is in there---- some big ol' grandaddy bass, in a pond that has never seen a hook, line, or sinker. :)

I still ask every year. :)

ah, fun stocked large mouth. My aunts ex had a nice pond and he loved his bass and fed them well. We had to remove the barbs from or hooks before we could fish there. But man his bass were HUGE and really put up a good fight. Miss that place, now i actually have to put some effort into it lol.

Not near as disgusting for me who has to listen to someone scraping the plate with their knife & fork between each cut of noisy chewing, let alone watching the juices roll of the patrons chin. I can't stand the sound of people eating, slurping, scraping... But I don't try to ban them. I tolerate them putting things in their mouths that smells and looks disgusting to me.
My wife is apparently incapable of eating with her mouth closed.

Sometimes I want to stand up and run full speed, head first, into a brick wall.
But I don't do that, because I love her.

And because then I would die and she would get all of our money and move to Spain.
So I don't do it because I'm onto her little scheme.

Oh yeah, and because I love her.
:)
