Why did you get into vaping? How did you find out about vaping?

Sick of being sick !!! I was able to quit a few different times. The last time was horrible because i started up again after i found out my father was dieing from cancer. He was never able to quit and i wont let that be me. A few weeks ago i got terribly sick with pneumonia and i am determined that this will be the last time. I start vaping tomorrow and i am sooooo excited for the change.

I quit my 2+ PAD habit because I am a sneaky devil who wanted to be able to smoke while visiting my friend in the hospital. She was there for months after a car accident. It was just an accident that I was trying to beat the rules and liked the e cig better than my regular Marlboro light 100s in the box. I still love to say those words. It gives me the same loving feeling as saying one of my kids names LOL. Then a few days later I found ECF. Around 14 or 1500 dollars later I have 2 provari's and some carto tanks. I also found my all day vape. Now I can vape my perfect set up foe around 50 dollars a month.

Saw the kiosks in the local outlet mall. Friend in the DC area posting about them on FB. Finally decided to do some research. Found this site. Found a link to a site listing vendors by state. Found a guy locally that will meet up for business. Bought a KD808D-1 and some "Camel Menthol" flavor. Had one more cigarette after I got home from the transaction. Grew to hate the small 808 battery (Should have done more reading on here). Found a brick and mortar vendor in Orlando, bought an eGo-C. 7 weeks tomorrow. It's cute, I'll always remember my switch date. May the Fourth be With Us. :p

I got into vaping and stayed with vaping because i love tobacco and enjoy the effect of nicotine. I broke down and bought a kit when I noticed on youtube that my favorite brand of tobacco is available as an e-liquid and it got high marks from the reviewer. I decided to try electronic cigarettes on that video alone. i found out the very first day trying it that this was definitely for me, love at first vapor. I love it as much as smoking, it certainly feels better and doesn't put a hurting on my body as bad.

I was very prujudiced against e-cigs for a long time. The hipster in me wouldn't allow it. I associated it with suckers who buy those expensive penlight battery kits ies at mall kiosks, they come with auto subscriptions. I still think the vaping world is full of nerds buying hundred dollar battery holders. If someone showed me a kit with juice for $50, I might've tried it sooner.

There are a few of the high end e-cigarettes (or apvs) which are warrantied for 1 year+ lifetime., it may be smart to in some of these instances to spend more than $50 and not offend an inner hipster. I base this on knowledge of people who invested $500 on storz and bickel volcano botanical vaporizers 5+ years ago and are still using them daily with no problems.

I took my son to the mall for his birthday. Spent hours looking for a gift for him, after giving up looking we headed towards exit and came across a kiosks selling some 808s and egos. My son asked me if I would buy one and quit smoking for him (his mother passed when he was 6) so seeing that look in his eyes I couldn't say no to him. I overpayed at the mall, quit smoking though. I know it's a sappy story but that's the way it shook out.

I was actually browsing through the cesspool of the internet (a large imageboard, not a polite-company mention, haha). I saw a thread where somebody asked a general question and one person responded, spouting off so much information and model names/numbers. It got me interested, so I got to googling. I didn't find ECF first, but I did find Vaping Guides and read all of Don's guide that night....and into the morning. I got all of my starting information there and started reading here, watching Grimm's videos, and obsessing. Tried an Njoy just to be sure it wasn't some complete waste of time before I made my first 'real' purchase. Happily vaping on my kgo now and about to go to my first local meet this weekend.

Sounds like an amazing birthday present for your son. But somehow I have a feeling you were still on the hook to buy him something tangible eh? :)

I had a friend who started coming around with PV while everyone else was smoking. By this point in my smoking career, I was sick of waking up feeling like crap every morning and the first thing I had to do was smoke a cigarette. So I saw that somebody actually bought an "electronic cigarette" and I thought "that's a great idea!" I had heard the radio commercials, so my first question was "Does it work?" The answer was a clear and simple "yes." So after a barrage of other questions and her patiently answering them, I got the card of her supplier. I'm not sure what my first e-cig was, but it helped me quit right away...until I started having battery issues and cartomizer problems. I went back to smoking out of frustration, but I hated it. This time I am determined to quit for good. Finding this forum has helped a lot. I now am the proud owner of a kGo kit, an eGo t kit, and an eGo Twist. Life is good.

Sounds about right. Just like something I would do as a kid. Tho, I'm trying to get to break even and then savings so I can spend on myself. Now that I have 3 Twist batteries, I think I'll be okay. I have a handful of favorite flavors that will keep me going until I can start playing with DIY. I don't need insane savings, just would like to break even and see a little extra in the budget.

I got into vaping as a healthier alternative to smoking* (this statement not approved by the FDA)

I don't go out much, don't pay much attention to billboards or ads, and only have one family member who smokes, so my first exposure to e-cigs was from television and movies. The first time I heard about them was the exploding battery incident on the news. The first time I actually saw one was in the movie "Fright Night." I didn't really understand what they were until I watched the movie, "The Tourist." Bought my first starter kit a few hours after seeing that movie.

Edit - Wait, it wasn't the movie "Fright Night," it was "Beneath the Darkness" with Dennis Quaid.

First time I heard about th e cig was about 3 years ago. I though it was some kind of scam and never though about it again. About 3 months ago my brother called me and said he was heading to our local smoke shop to buy a e cig. He kept me informed on how it was performing and about the refill carts and stuff. It was a No. 7 e cig that came with a USB charger, 2 batteries and 5 prefilled carts for around 70 bucks. I thought this was a little high so i passed on buying it. I'm the type of person that usally does research before buying anything I'm unsure about. And I'm I glad I did. My first kit was a 510 yeti kit from altsmoke.com

I got into vaping in April.

I had pneumonia and couldn't inhale any cigarette smoke and bought a Blu kit at Walgreen's while I was there picking up some Ephedrine in an attempt to be able to breath better.

That was April 23rd and I haven't had a real cigarette since.

Before that day I was a 2 pack a day full flavored menthol smoker and I planned on smoking right up to my death bed.

After 1 day of using Blu E-cigs I realized I could quit smoking with the assistance of E-cigs and I haven't look back since.

I quit smoking for about 20 years and then stupidly started again. Decided to give vaping a try and got a Freshcig kit. Liked it but not much "hit" and quite costly. Then got an E-go C and got hooked on coffee. Started reading and got really hooked and just got a Provari 2. Waiting for the DID to arrive. Already into making my own juice and not had a ... for 6 weeks.

Nice! So your intent wasn't to stop smoking analogs at all then, but you converted entirely! Good for you!!

Nope, I had no intention of quitting. I was just sick of sitting around the hookah waiting for the hose to be passed and then having to smoke whatever flavor was loaded.

I still smoke an analog now and then, but I don't smoke a pack a day and I don't crave them at all anymore. Most of the time, I don't even finish an analog when I do smoke one. (unless I'm drunk and can't taste how nasty it is)
