I'm curious as to why people picked up vaping as opposed to continue to partake in the analogs. Was it a monetary decision? (IE cheeper) Health reasons? (IE the Doc told you to quit) Or maybe was it a pesky “significant other” that got you to switch? Or maybe some other reason not listed?

For my part it was a monetary reason. I got into a bad way a while ago and couldn’t afford 6-7 bucks a day for a pack. Where as a single 10ml bottle would last me a whole week, for about the same price as a single pack of smokes. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to compare $200+ VS $30/Month………..LOL

Now almost a year after; I haven’t had a single analogue from the first moment I bought my starter kit. LOL of course now that extra funding can go to new mods, wicks, attys ect

How about you? Why did you quit?

Hey Aglaeca

I decided to quit by vaping because I couldn't get off analogs any other way. I was hacking and coughing every morning and felt like crap. I desperately wanted to quit and researched vaping and decided to give it a shot. I have not had to smoke since the day I got my starter kit. My lungs are clearer and I feel better all around. The monetary part is just an added bonus lol.

My dentist told me that the two molars I lost last May were just the beginning of tooth loss, if I continued smoking. And that the chance of failure of my very expensive dental implants was 40 percent higher for smokers ...

He had to pause his lecture a couple of times while I had a routine coughing fit ...

Bought an Njoy that day, and an Ego kit the next week ...

It did take me 6 months to give up the cool illuminated solar charged ashtray I had just bought for my car, gave it to a smoking friend, who has also since switched to vaping too ... :D

Health reasons, mostly. Not from a doctor (or god forbid the Big C), but I was really starting to feel the effects. Especially when I tried to start running again, I could barely make it 3/4 of a mile when I used to do 5-6 no problem. Family is part of it too, my kid brother worries about my health now that he's old enough to get the (sensationalist) anti-tobacco lessons at school. Monetary reasons almost kept me from vaping, I roll analogs so I actually pay a bit more than I used to.

I also miss the success banner that used to be my sig on here. I'd like to have that back as soon as I get back on track.

wife in critical care in hospital and wanted a smoke and could not. So I told her I would quit with her. She quit and I had a lot of trouble. In a hardware store and I asked salesclerk if he was sucking on a pen. He laughted and explaining vaping to me. Drove to the store and bought a kit and some juice and the rest is history. Wife vapes like 2mg and maybe 1/2 ml a day. As for me lets just say lots......LOL

Anxiety attacks. Bad ones. At work, in public places, it was really disrupting my life. Quitting smoking is the first (and probably most important) step towards a more healthy mind and body. I really thought it was the nicotine that was making my heart race, making me dizzy and all of those horrible sick feelings, so the plan was to eventually quit e-cigs too. But it seems like getting rid of the other 4000+ chemicals has really helped already in the short time I've been vaping. Next step is exercise now that I can breathe again. Running really helps to burn off that excess energy, and sort of naturally balance out your system. I'm hoping if I run everyday, I can eliminate the attacks, and keep my nicotine, because I accidently found this new hobby that I really enjoy. :)

I have smoked off and on for about 30+ years. These shops started springing up here and there and I got curious. Started talking to a few people. Tried the stupid sticks.. njoy, blu etc and they did NOT do the trick. Was at a flea market here and started talking to some of the vape vendors. Finally found someone that understood what the hell I was talking about. LOL. Started vaping that day. Not a single cig since I started vaping. Am now trying a lot of different flavors trying to find what I like.

Hear all kinds of horror stories now. Batteries that blow up etc. Kinda concerned about the quality of liquids but am working on that. But whatever, love vaping. No cravings etc. Am working on backing down my nic levels. Started at 24 and am now at 18. Nic levels are a personal decision but that is where I want to go. :)

Because I want to watch my grandchildren grow, and help them to become responsible and productive members of society. It seems like we have more than enough non-productive members...perhaps with my help, my grand kids can help change things a bit.

I have survived a failed massive overdose of muscle relaxants at age 17, when I technically should have died. I survived a massive house fire, where they had called for 5 body bags, not thinking that we could survive. I figure the Man Upstairs has better plans for me than I do.
