As far as I can tell, after watching millions of you-tube reviews to find myself info on the vaping world, i found MANY reviewers that did NOT smoke cigs or any kind of tobacco related products before they got into e-stuffs. Apparently there is a dieting trend that is going around and people are smoking 0mg Juices of their favorite flavors to "Curb their appetite". They pop in their favorite flavor of juice when they get the urge to eat, puff it up for a bit and, viola!!! Supposedly it works or maybe its just a lame excuse to try to be trendy, i dunno, but the people that do this seem to be pretty physically fit, so they must be doing something right.

It's healthier than diet pills or people who take amphetamines for the off label use of curbing their appetite. So that's something.

Sometimes people misread which parts of their life affect their physical fitness. It's probably not the vaping so much curbing their appetite, it's that they are paying attention to what they are eating and probably making an effort to exercise.

Like slimfast twice a day and mcdonald's for dinner won't help you. Slimfast as a meal replacement used in conjunction with the diet on the box and exercise recommended does, not because the liquid is magic but because you started living healthy. Switch the slimfast drink to any healthy similarly caloried food/combo for those meals but keep the rest of the system, you'll still lose weight. People still think it's the overpriced shakes though. Same thing is likely with the "vaping diet".

It works. I use to smoke, but I also use it for food hand to mouth type cravings. Vaping is fun and cool. And even if I never smoked, like I have said before, I would vape. :) It's YUUUUUUUUMMMMMMY! And I am an adult.

Nicotine works as all stimulants curb your appetite, I am a little sketchy on 0 nic being anything more than the power of suggestion or self-suggestion in a lot of cases. But hey, if that little bit of hope gets people to eat well and exercise...net gain imo.

Not everyone's weight issues is because they need to eat better or exercise more.

Of course, nothing is absolute but consider this

  • The post that started that discussion was about vaping as a part of a diet so that's where diet discussion got started
  • What do you think the percentage of people overweight via poor diet/lifestyle vs medical condition/something else is? We both know the answer isn't in the realm of being close.
  • Even if their weight problem is due to a medical issue or disability would eating well and exercising (as much as they are capable if disabled) not have a positive impact on their health? Obviously it would

So even if 5% of obese people have that issue due to a medical issue/disability, what I said about taking care of yourself still stands.

In the case of 0 nic they vape instead of snacking. You still get a yummy taste. With 0 calories... so in that aspect it works too. And yeah... losing is going to be slow if one does not add exorcise to the regimen.

After reading this thread....and yes may have posted before.
It’s a personal choice, everyone has a right to do what they wish and when they wish to do it. Personal opinion will be just that supported by facts either way. One thing I've learned from my college years is that statistics can be wavered with either way.
I can't say that vaping is healthy or not, I can't say that it works for dieting as I'm still one overly fat, jolly guy. I do what I do because I like it, your reasons may be different than mine.
The only thing we can do is suggest not to do something, freedom of choice will always win regardless of what advice is given. The forum is a place to make suggestions, educate and help others. Everyone in here is awesome for helping out, I've seen so many wonderful people that have offered suggestions and its great to see a community coming together like that.
That’s my point of view on this whole hair ball of a topic.

...... ok people, stop the hate and get back on track. If someone who doesn't smoke wants to vape because "it's cool" let them. Who cares what other people want to do, it's their lives to do with what they will. We are not the current administration and wanting to turn this into a dictatorship, free will is still a staple of the US and many other countries.

My mother said one thing and it still holds true: If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.

This is not targeted at any one person before I get flamed.

Ok so the political thing is a bit out there but not directed at anyone here.

I know what you meant but now all I can think of is a priest yelling "The power of christ compels you" at someone eating a salad.

Half-Life, I didn't know this. I just Googled 'e cig appetite suppression' and found results through 10 Google pages that I looked at. The majority of them positive on the benefit of nicotine for appetite suppression, vape flavor benefits for the same and that e-cigs are a low risk way to get these benefits. Hmm, interesting!?!

Well, this isn't flaming but "who cares what people want to do" is how some of us feel and some others not so much. It's really all about that just with some side discussions as happens on a forum.

Also, making a somewhat political comment about the administration is the opposite of staying on track.

It all comes back to the verbiage that was use in the beginning of the thread. "Wannabe" and "hipster". Did you ever stop to think that these were people who probably would have smoked if it wasn't so bad for you? I mean everyone knows that smoking is really really bad for you these days. And so for a good reason many never even try a cig. But what if they really wanted to but just made the decision not to be cause smoking is so harmful to yourself and others. And then they see an ecig and say wow no harmful smoke! That is freakin a cool. And right they are it freakin is hella cool. So I don't blame them in taking up vaping. 0 nic or various strengths.

Better than the special olympics picture about arguing on the internet I had in my post just before I edited it.
