I am a moderator on two Windows forums. At one time I was a mod on a total of three Windows forums.

I don't frequent the two much anymore because Windows 7 is reaching maturity and Windows 8 is well... Windows 8. There's another mod who always jumps on my posts and threads and then decides to edit my tutorial threads without PM'ing me first. So rather than get upset and get a case of the "....... its" I just don't go to those two forums much.

One thing I have learned in the past four years as a forum moderator was that there are way too many members, some new and some old that look at the OP's post, but don't READ it and then analyze it. They just jump to a speedy conclusion, reply and then go on. It's unbelievable some of the idiotic suggestions and recommendations I have seen regarding computer setup and builds, OS installation along with driver installation.

Okay... enough of that and meanwhile back at the ranch.

I am new to vaping only been doing it for less than three months. However, when I get into a new hobby or project I figure in for a penny in for a dollar. I read, review, study, analyze and then make my decisions. Yes, personal preference and what appeals to me visually is a big factor, but I won't drop $150 plus dollars on a Provari when I'm able to get an SVD by Innokin which IMHO is just as good to me. There is excellent hardware out there which is very cost-effective. I am not in this to impress anyone, life's too short for that. Besides I feel it's more important to be as candid as possible and give other members my true thoughts on a piece of hardware or juice rather than trying to be a fanboy

I am a member of this forum and Vapeatron, I joined CASAA so I could read up on the latest legal stuff coming down the pike.

I am usually able to tell, just by reading a member's post, what their age level is too, within a few years. Although age certainly does not equate to maturity level, that's a given axiom for sure. Some buy all the gadgets, gizmos, and such that I'll bet that quite a few vapers own over $500-600 dollars worth of hardware. Right now I'm happy with my hardware (although I may try the AGA T2 RBA just for grins).

Many use no etiquette whatsoever and grammar... well that's gone out the window just about too.

Basically, after all my verbosity here, it boils down to common sense and courtesy. Something that seem to be diminishing more and more as time goes by.

sorry if this is a rant, but i just don't get it??
why do so many people on this forum seem to disregard what the OP has said??

for examples:
1) someone will say something like "i know i want to get an svd or a vamo, but can't decide between the 2. what do you think is better of the 2?" then someone says "get and mvp." it's like, why did you even post that? it doesn't help at all?

2) someone says "i'm looking for the best mod under $100. i really can't afford more, so what should i get? then someone says "just buy a provari." can this person even read??

3) (i saw this earlier today) someone said that they wanted to get something from myvaporstore. they asked "out of the selection they have, what mod would you recommend?" then people started telling him to get certain mods that myvaporstore doesn't even sell.

*shrug* i dunno....i just find it so silly.
i guess people either can't read, are dumb, trolling, or posting for no reason whatsoever (just to get their post count up i guess)

i only bring this up, because it seems to happen more here, than just about any other forum i have been on. seem like an epidemic on ecf for some reason.

Still, I wish the Provari people had pushed harder with me. Actually they did just right, it was others that drug me away from them. I had already looked at it as a candidate but the others kept saying I would be better off with something else. I regret not getting it first.

While some will mention a Provari in threads like that it does not represent the entire forum. When you have this many people you are going to have three or four that do that.

I have trouble when I say a devices requirement are less than a certain length and things twice as long get recommended.

Here something to think about. If one quits something how much money do they start saving. A pack a day smokers pays for a Provari quickly. It would have saved me even more money because I wouldn't have got a bunch of stuff that I refuse to use.

There was a thread the other day the guy didn't smoke much and vaped on and off and asked people for cheap and cheerful vaping solutions. At least two people told him to buy a Provari and proceeded to go into great detail about their personal collections and experiences with their Provari, like the OP gives a flying ....... what's in their collections.

The guy who posted earlier about people glancing at the thread and rushing to reply without knowing or caring what they're replying to is spot on. It's a disease people catch off the internet. Health authorities have yet to find a cure though I have found putting the offenders into a large box and throwing away the key to be very effective.

This shall be corrected once the FDA puts out its deeming regulations on Internet Speech Disease.

When someone asks for the very best of the the breed no matter if it is a tank, carto, device it seems like instead of someone asking how they define best suck as workmanship, performance, features, or some other quality someone will though up a fasttech link and it is to a product that has nothing to do with what the OP was looking for.

I would have to say that much of the advice I've read, especially from newer members tend to be whatever they are using, purchased, and are extremely excited about. They can't believe everyone doesn't have the latest wizbang mod, or that they don't want to drop everything and get one. Enthusiasm is great, some just need to remember, it's better to remain silent and be thought to be ignorant, than open your mouth and remove all doubt...:)

There was a hilarious thread a couple of years ago about bacon flavored juice. Later, there was one about crab flavored juice. I laughed until my sides hurt.

Right now, there's a thread with Maple Bacon Cheesecake in the title.

Let there be BACON !!! http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-e-liquid-reviews/144460-vaporrenu-bacon-caveat-emptor.html

I never understood people's infatuation with their post count. Who CARES how many times they post?

Hell, my internet post count must be in the zillions by now....lol

Just think about how long it takes for 1 billion seconds to pass, I think a whole lot of generations will have come and gone before that you can make a zillion posts. :p You ain't that old. :)
