Why don't we have a Kayfun (any version, originals and clones) owners group?

My kayfun Lite Plus V2 says 2014/5. Tried to take a decent photo, but lighting isn't good right now. Something is wrong with Fit Simulations though. It looks like there is a screw blocking the air flow.:)

that weird because 2 of mine are indeed lite plus v-2's but no dates. I wonder if its something that was added in 2013? I definitely got them from either intaste or from svoemsto so I know they are real. curious.

just found out that the differences are between the first and second batches. vaperev states other design differences which is a new drip tip, redesigned curve of the top cap and the inside of the top cap is also different in the second batch. also the engravings on the bottom are written deeper and the lettering is around the outer edge instead of inwards. and lastly the dates. im pretty sure if you have a date on the bottom, its considered a plus v-2 second batch.

I haven't had any issues on my svoemesto threading, but I wonder if this screw will help my filling screw threading last longer. Interesting they are making a poly screw now.
Kayfun Lite Befüllschraube Poly

Thanks for the tip Newport, unfortunately I think even ordering eight, the S&H charges will boost the price to the stratosphere. :( Hopefully someone gets them on this side of the pond.

Mine was made in Feb 2014

Where did you get that juice? I have a box of Cohiba Siglo V Robustos in my humidor and last weekend I cut one of my lesser cigars —a Mexican Valle de la Iguana made of select leaves from San Andrés Tuxtla Mexico, Nicaragua and Dominicam Republic. Quite good but no Cohibas. Is that a true Cuban juice? The Valle de la Iguana juice came quite good, I'm tempted to slice cut the tips of two Siglo V's and extract some 100ml.

Two days ago regal55 and flexsr were stating that Kayfuns are insane to build. Last night I posted some pics of my method. Tonight I made a video and should be now accessible in You Tube. Sorry for the thick English but I think the images don't require much explanation.

Ok. Now that I have the kf nano for 14 hours and put over 6ml juice through it, I must say... I love it! :D

Very nice flavor and at 1.19 Ohms, there is enough vapor production to anoy my wife :)

My third coil was made with 0. 30mm kanthal A1, 2.5 mm id and 6 wraps. Came out at 1.19 Ohms.

The wicking that is working best for me right now is using 2mm Eko wool in a figure 8 shape so I have a loop on each side just flush with the feed channels but without touching them.

It's a nuisance to pull the Eko wool 3 times through the small coil but it works with some sandwiching and imagination.

The only gripe I have right now is the whistle sound... It's annoying.

Good job my friend. I love watching vapor vids, what ever the devices. Sometimes I just surf utube and watch because every bit of info helps and you can always learn new things. In yours I like the part where you vape straight from the chimney and although it can't tell you how it wicks, it may tell you if you have used to much or to little cotton thru the coil. Btw, just finished my erlk vid last knight and posted it in the erlk thread.

It's always good watching how other people do it. You'll learn always something new.

Just yesterday I saw some pics of a technique where the coil sits parallel to the two posts instead of perpendicular and I thought, hey that's wrong but then the author put two silica wicks through it and bent the ends to each side making an effective figure 8 (points open though). The main advantage was the low waste of extra silica and the end result seemed quite effective. Going to try that technique tonight.

So bottom line, never disregard a method even if it looks initially wrong until you see the end result and even sometimes only after you try it yourself.

BTW, thank you for the video. It's always nice to see someone eager to help even if some people don't want to be helped.

Tony

Thank you :) it has been great so far. Wonderful flavour and the right amount of vapor. Quality wise I'm very impressed with this clone and I had a lot of good cnc material come through my hands... Even an hand polished cnc 3dx v-stabi helicopter head made in Mexico (only 50 were made worldwide). Sure, the steel might not be 404 but has an outer high nickel content so it shouldn't rust anyway.
I have now a wick technique that I know it works (have put 4 tanks through it) so I'm free to experiment with other setups ;)

BTW, a little tip for you as you also have a evic s... Do you see the gap between the kayfun and the top of the evic s? Just unscrew the top cap a little until it rests against the kayfun... No more gap and better protection to the 510 connector in case you drop your mod :)

Great video ForeverDiving !
I was surprised your resistance came out that much lower than your app said;
have you tried Steam Engine?

Anyway, I wish I had seen your video before RipTrippers - I would have been much less intimidated!

Actually it was because I shortened the legs as much as I could. Must have shaved some 2mm from the build.

I have the same app and although it's quite exact , once you start screwing the coil on the base, there are quite a few variations. After some experience, you will know beforehand what resistance your build will have without needing the app.
In my case, I use 29awg (0.30 mm) and I know that 6 wraps will give me around 1.2 Ohms, 7 wraps around 1.5 Ohms and 8 wraps 1.8 Ohms. I hardly use anything else. I am pretty sure that 5 wraps would give me around 0.9 Ohms :)

Yeah although I find I.D. to influence final resistance way more than full contact or open coil. For example, 6 turns on a 3mm id coil (0.30mm kanthal) give 1.37 Ohms, same wire wit 6 turns at id 2.8mm gives 1.28 Ohms and at 2.5mm id give 1.19Ohms. :)

Regards
Tony

PS: although I like 1. 1-1.2Ohms more, my emergency prebuilt coils are made at 1.4Ohms because if the evic fails on a trip, the other batteries have a lower limit of 1.2Ohms so there is a risk they wont fire the atty so 1.4 Ohms is always a safe bet that it will fire on any battery.
