Why don't we have a Kayfun (any version, originals and clones) owners group?

I thought perhaps you were. I look at it as a kayfun style. I love mine, but I am always looking for good tank styles. I decided I am a tank style vaper with VV/VW devices. I will occasionally use a dripper for amusement at home, but that usually lasts about a half hour.

Oh, I use drippers all the time, as long as I'm static. On the go I usually have on my pants pocket a Hana DNA 30 clone built by myself (no hot glue in any place, pure tin solder, plastic metal and epoxy all around) topped with a proven hermetic tank, i.e. a KfL+2 in nano config, Erlkönigin or Fogger v4. Sometimes a hybridized nano KfL on top a 18350 Nemmy.

An erlkoenigin in nano style is just as sexy as a kayfun nano in my opinion.
I wonder if someone knows any details about the rumours of a sm kayfun v4?

Tony, the Erlkönigin nano is not due till next weekend. I haven't dropped by their site but my guess is they're already presold. What's that about a Kf4? I haven't heard a thing!

I think the erlkoenigin nano is just a kit for previous owners. The standalone version should come out later (bad comercial move in my opinion). Anyway... If I have serious doubts dropping the cash for an authentic Kayfun (because I have never tried that style and because I only would want it in nano form... It all adds up). I'm not sure if I could justify the price of a erlkoenigin (nano sized).

About the kayfun, I read somewhere today that SM was working on a new version (supposedly info gotten from SM themselves) but I took it with a grain of salt. I was hoping that someone could have more info.

Maybe an email to SM is in order? :)

Tony, I think that was an April Fools prank --the KF4, I mean. OTOH, about the Erlkin, it's the closest I've seen to a camera system in concept. Reminds me of my first Nikon (FTn 1971). You just had to get all the gadgets! In my case, I have one of the first Erlkins so getting the nano chimney and tank(s) is no big deal but if you're arely dipping your toes in those waters, it will be like when I got my first Leica M. There's no "just this one" option, even tho you end up using only one body and one lens in the end. ;) In any case, brace yourself for a 200€ expenditure. You will minimally need the basic atty, one or two metal tips, one or two extra tanks (glass, metal) and then the nano kit, as extense as you want/need. Check the site and bleed! ;)

PS, for a good build tip check this "El Mono Vapeador" vid.. It's in Spanish but I know it's no problem for you.

I always have one of my kayfuns set up in dual coil and by far, it's my favorite. I set mine up slightly different in that my coils run perpendicular to the juice channels, opposite to the video. This allows for bigger diameter coils, also it wicks better imo. because of this coil orientation, both wick tails from each coil has its own juice well, the tails come from the coil and form sort of a circle. With duals in the kayfun, you have to be careful because if you use to thick of a gauge wire, or have to many wraps or resistance is to high, (especially if you don't have the power), it can be sluggish. I have found the best balance with twisted 32g (2 strands), 1.8mm diameter coil with 9 wraps to each coil. Total resistance is about .9 ohms and run it on a mech or dna.

Got my kayfun nano today :)

I disassembled it fully and cleaned everything twice. There wasn't much to clean though except for the central screw (the hollow one) which had machine oil on and in it. Anyway, my first coil came out a little crocked so I binned it and did a second. This one seemed quite nice so I wicked it with silica (4 strands of 2mm, the coil i.d. is 3mm). I have been vaping it the whole morning. Quite nice. I do get the occasional semi-dry hit which is probably due to my wicking. When the tank is empty, I will make a new coil with a 2.5mm id and try to use some 2mm ekwool in a figure 8 loop to see if it improves. The taste is better than on my rebuilt kanger heads, the rest is ok... not a big increase over my rebuilt aerotank mini though. I guess I need to tinker more.

Ok. Now that I have the kf nano for 14 hours and put over 6ml juice through it, I must say... I love it! :D

Very nice flavor and at 1.19 Ohms, there is enough vapor production to anoy my wife :)

My third coil was made with 0. 30mm kanthal A1, 2.5 mm id and 6 wraps. Came out at 1.19 Ohms.

The wicking that is working best for me right now is using 2mm Eko wool in a figure 8 shape so I have a loop on each side just flush with the feed channels but without touching them.

It's a nuisance to pull the Eko wool 3 times through the small coil but it works with some sandwiching and imagination.

The only gripe I have right now is the whistle sound... It's annoying.

is it just the newest versions of the lite pluses that have dates? I have 2 authentic lites and 2 authentic lite pluses(neither are the newest version though) and none have dates.
