Why is my wick/coil so mucked up so quickly?

After a day and half of moderate vaping my Vision style clearomizer wick is total shot. The coil is fused to the wick with build-up. Normaly as proformace dwindles, I'm able to disassemble, clean and reuse. Lately they have been getting shot real quick. Totally un-clean-able. I'm using an I-turbo clearomizer with heads(1.8 &2.4 ohm) from both mtnvapor & Nhaler, 80PG/20VG from mtBakerVapor, and echo 650 & 1300 mAh autos, and a iGo revolver twist 650 mAh batteries (all 808 thread). I've been using the clearo's for a while, but the bats and juice are new. Could it be the juice? Maybe the bigger bats. I used standard 808 slim bats prior.

Any idea's? Replacing the head every 2 days will get expensive! TIA

Could be a sugary ingredient in the juices you are vaping. 80pg/20vg shouldn't be a problem in a clearo. Are your juices clear or dark? Give us some juice names and sources and maybe we can help.

Thanks for the quick response!

I've been using RY4, 555, and American tobacco from MtBakerVapor. The Ry4 and American are darker, the 555 is lighter.

I vape NLV Bounty Hunter and Renegade (RY4 style juices) 65PG/35VG I have found the same issue with juices I use in Kanger T3's, Vision / Stardust Clearos and Mini Vivi Nova. I think it has to do with the sugars/flavoring in the juices

that's odd, i had no problems with fowling the coil when i had NLV. strange...

It's mostly the caramel color in the darker flavored juices that gunks up a coil. Just stay away from darker juices overall. It's not a solid sediment that's causing the buildup. Filtering will not help. Have you watched videos on burning the coils off? Have you considered wrapping your own coils? Saves a ton of money.

your in fairless hills? I lived in birch valley for 10 years! i live in Warrington now.

since you mention DIY wrapping is Kanthal A 0.20mm / 0.008" / AWG 32 --- 44.2 Ohm/m ..... 13.47 Ohm/ft & 2mm Silica suitable for my clearo's, vivi nova's and Somk VIVI rebuilbable? I'm looking at a kit from Germany.

Ya, the 32g kanthal a1 is what ya want, as for wick... That depends. My 1.8ohm vivi nova heads had 4 small wicks(.8mm I think) and the 2.8 heads had one larger wick(2mm). So I wrap my low ohms with 3-4 .8mm wicks, and higher ohms with 1 2mm wick.

Its a known fact that like someone else stated, that sugary ejuice does that. It basically caramelizes. This also happens with almost all naturally extracted tobaccos (NET). That is just something we have to put up with when using the better ejuices. I used to use cartos and with these types of juices I would go thru up to 4 cartomizers in a day because of the gunky wicks. Now with RBAs I have to dry burn once a day, but its worth it as I love my ejuice and wouldnt give them up. THey are worth the extra work.

You can also just unwrap the coil, burn it with lighter cut burnt part out of wick and recoil the shorter good wick and it will work. I did that many times before coil wire broke by that time I had new supplies. Use same amount of
Wraps for same resistance.

Actuall I think when I saw that.. the coil was too tight on the wick. I have better results when the coil is loose enough to slide the wick back and forth easily when dry and even still when wet but not as much since the wicks swell

I prewar app my coil on something slight bigger than the wick like the inside of a pen or mini screwdriver or what ever fits.
