Somewhere out there
Mondwomping squicker monsters tootle puffers from tootville. LMAO

Oh man, the lingo itself is enough to keep me confused for a while, never mind the gear that goes with it.

I remember how much new terminology there was to pick up on when I started, almost like a foreign language. Doesn't help that everyone seems to love throwing around acronyms. Don't worry, be happy, ask questions and you'll catch on in no time.

Welcome to ECF and tootle-ville!

I refuse to be pigeon-holed.
On a daily basis I enjoy tootling, tootle-squonking, womp-squonking, cloud-puffing, and occasionally trying to change the local doppler weather radar just for fun. :D
I'm a proud tootle puffer at heart, though. It's my bread and butter that keeps me away from smoking. :toast:

I've been vaping since early days, was the first vaping personality to have my own line of eliquid, and have generally been a pretty good advocate for vaping along the way. I pretty much vape everything below 0.3 ohms and 40w or better nowadays. Why exactly do you feel the need to criticize how I choose to vape?

seriously, I don't give a **** what anyone says of thinks about how I vape, just pointing out that negativity among ourselves is divisive and self defeating
Lol, that rubbed me the wrong way too a bit. I wasn't completely content with vaping until I got my first subtank honestly. Haven't even thought about a cigarette since.

Modwhomper actually came about out of our sense of humor, just searching for a name/moniker, it really pertains to nothing, sort of a Jerry Seinfeld thing. We do not fit into any one style in particular and we do not hold ones style against them. We welcome all. But we do tend to fit somewhere in the middle between a tootle puffer, which is as close to emulating smoking and high powered cloud chasers. We tend to be in the 1 ohm to 1.8 ohm range with an occasion to drop to .05 ohms and power levels in the 10 to 30w range....give or take. We like a fair amount of flavor along with a good vapor...I guess in terms of tobacco users, puffers are cigarette smokers and whompers are cigar smokers, figuratively speaking. I think that is a fair analogy.

And many of us are just flat out crazy, I can attest to this as I am an expert in the field of such behavior!

OMG, I want to be something, too.
Learn so much here, every day......
Still, need help to decide what it is.......a foreign language sometimes sucks when it comes to words like tootle puffer, or modwomper
I'm using rtas mainly on vv/vw mods, sometimes mechanical mods but only up to about 25 watts. I decided after the first page that I'm not a tootle puffer but "something in between" which would make me a modwomper. Was quite happily vaping away with it and then someome wrote "from 25 to 100 watts"? Folks, get a grip on yourselves! Don't confuse poor me!
Won't be able to sleep tonight.......until I know.....what will happen if I tootle puff or modwomp the wrong way?

Earth rotation will stop? Black holes?

@Panorama911, thank you!! Wasn't fast enough at posting.

By the way "modwomper" definitely sounds and feels like squashing something to me."If you don't stop I'm going to modwomp you!"
"Be a good girl ot the modwomper will get you!"

Tootle puffers generally dont go above 15 watts, mod wompers do but are not in it to chase clouds. Both groups are mixed and matched with each other and most of them dont suffer from insanity, they warmly embrace it! :vapor:

I originally started with a Blu vaporizer after having major spinal surgery (a 13 hour procedure, 2 weeks in the hospital, meningitis, a picc line, and IV antibiotics every 8 hours for 3 weeks). I was told before my surgery to quit smoking, and smoked up until midnight the night before my procedure. I didn't smoke at all for the 2 weeks in the hospital, and managed to hold out for the 3 weeks after I got home. However, I picked it up again "here and there" and before I knew was pack to a pack every other day, sometimes a pack a day.

My husband begged me to try an electronic cigarette if I was going to continue smoking, because as I'm sure most are well aware, smoking can seriously impede the body's ability to heal, and even cause a failed procedure, which neither of us wanted. So he bought me the Blu started pack. I liked the idea of it, but it sucked. Inconsistent vapor. Poor battery life. A whole host of reasons actually.

That's when I went to an actuall vape store and bought a "starter kit" - an Eleaf iStick Mini with a Nautalus mini. I started at 18mg's of nicotine and found it a bit strong so I went down to 12. I'm now facing more surgery and today I'm cigarette free for one month.

I have no desire to make huge clouds. I have no desire to build my own coils, or build anything really. I have no desire to own a 150 watt device. Infact, I prefer just the variable voltage only devices (simpler for my noobish ways). I'm more of a flavor chaser that requires the nicotine to keep me from craving a cig. With a great flavor and the right nicotine content I've stayed away from cigarettes for a month.

I'm not really sure what sub ohming is, or what it does. I use the 1.8ohm BVC coils in my Nauty mini and am happy with them.

All I wanted is a long battery life, the ability to adjust voltage to get the best tasting vape, and for it to be consistent right down to the last drop of battery power.

I'm pretty sure I'm a mouth to lung inhaler. Maybe direct lung? I like a decent throat hit to remind me of the cigs.

So by all accounts that makes me a tootle puffer? What is wrong with that? IS there something wrong with it? I can't tell if it's a term of endearment or a derogatory term.

If it's the latter, quite frankly I don't care. I'm doing what works for me. My tastes may evolve as I become more experienced and branch out and try different devices and methods. I'm interested in dripping as I've heard the flavor is great, but I don't care about the amount of vapor.

So what category does this drop me into? Not that it really matters. My local vape shop is very good to me and has never made a comment one way or another, nor have any of the customers we've hung out with.

So... is tootle puffing a term of endearment, or a derogatory term used for those of us not into big clouds and building our own gear?

Not derogatory at all -- it is a conservative style of vaping, as you say, with a large poke of fun at all the classifying. Some tootlers are "blisterpackers", because like you, they have no interest in building their own coils, though some of us do rebuild, in my case for economic and self-reliance reasons. But any style of vaping that allows a person to get and/or stay smoke-free, is a GREAT style of vaping.

Whatever works and makes you happy... that's the right way to vape. :) :thumb:

I've been cig free for almost 2 years using the same ego-style systems that I started with. I am a DIY juicer now, and I have upgraded my equipment some, although I still regularly use some of the original tanks and batteries I started with. Proud to be a TPer, my intention was to quit cigs, save $, and not turn a bad habit into a hobby. I won.

Noob question ahead.... how does one go above 15 watts with a 1.8 ohm coil? Lower ohms, higher watts, right? So find a tank that takes lower ohm coils.

I wanna try modwomping. LOL

I have the nauty mini right now, and have thought of getting another tank that is capable of more power. My mod is 15 watts max, but my husband got a 50 watt mod (mostly because it has output power and can charge external devices, has a flash light, and is built like a tank). Neither one of us has anything near capable of doing 50 watts. But hey, it has a flash light!!! I got mine cause it's pretty. He got his cause it has boy toy features. We have no idea what we're doing. LMAO
