Or, at least, there's less hostility than there was.

Yup, less drama is a good thing in my opinion.

OTOH, sometimes I really miss those 37 page Provari threads

I was doing fine on my two 14W Provari's and Kanger Subtank Mini. I never wanted to be one of these hipster cloud chasers, I'm 58 and grown up. I just wanted a flavorful vape and work my way to my one year smoke-free anniversary coming up at the end of the month

If I'm out in public I like to be under the radar. I vape in bars and never been thrown out. Stealth vaping is an art and science.

I guess that made me a Tootle Puffer? I've been dripping for awhile, first with a Mutation X and now with three Trolls. I DIY my own juice so a dripper to switch around is mandatory. But my Provari's could not fire dual coils and my drippers seem to demand that, and I got to thinking, if one coil tastes good, wouldn't two coils be twice as good?

So then I got a Subox just out of curiosity and boredom. And an iStick 50 just because sometimes I like to live life on the edge of certain disaster. It was either that or go back to skydiving.

So I started running those box mods at 25W, just out of general principle. Cuz I'm not a hipster cloud chaser.

And then I turned the iStick up to 40W. And it was good.

And now when I go back to my Provari's, which I really like because they will always work, it's just so unsatisfying, like they aren't working right. Kanger ruined me with that Subox. The Subtank has better flavor than my Trolls and don't punish me with dry hits when I get sidetracked and forget to drip before that big nasty hit reminds me I'm not vaping a tank.

So what am I? In this age of labeling I need to know. Help me please, I feel like I've lost my identity and without that life is not worth living. I'm at a crisis stage...

if you think vaping with a high powered rig make you a man you need to grow up and get a life.for us mature adults its just a tool to help us quit smoking.and a fun hobby
Wow, lighten up buddy. I'm pretty sure he was being a bit sarcastic.
If you're not careful, posts like that could open up a new classification of vapers. The PPP vaper. (Party Pooper Puffer)

how does one go above 15 watts with a 1.8 ohm coil?
That's 1.4 ohm at almost 30W. It's a nice warm vape and no dry hits in my KFL. I guess I'm a tootle whomper this morning. When, or if, you get into wrapping your own coils, RBAs open up more choices ad options for a more customize-able experience.

Noob question ahead.... how does one go above 15 watts with a 1.8 ohm coil? Lower ohms, higher watts, right? So find a tank that takes lower ohm coils.

I wanna try modwomping. LOL

I have the nauty mini right now, and have thought of getting another tank that is capable of more power. My mod is 15 watts max, but my husband got a 50 watt mod (mostly because it has output power and can charge external devices, has a flash light, and is built like a tank). Neither one of us has anything near capable of doing 50 watts. But hey, it has a flash light!!! I got mine cause it's pretty. He got his cause it has boy toy features. We have no idea what we're doing. LMAO
Ohm's Law. At 10V, 2 ohms, the current draw is 5 amps. Power = amps * volts, or in this case 50 watts :)

The idea of low ohms = higher power comes from "fixed voltage" mech mods where resistance is the only variable for your Ohm's Law solution. Not really fixed since the voltage declines steadily as the battery drains but you get the point.

Regulated mods can go up to 8-10V, so easily get 35-50 watts on a 1.8 ohm coil

The idea that you don't need to sub-ohm to get high power is slow to take hold. There may be some advantages to a low ohm coil, they heat up quicker so less delay. May change the character of the vape, you just have to try it and compare.
