Why so many blue LEDs?

Personally, If I'm going to use a ecig with a LED, I'd rather it be a realistic color. However, I understand that some people would rather demonstrate that their ecig is not a real cig, and they do this by using a different color LED.

But my question is, why blue? I have regular 510's that I use on occasion and they have a blue LED. But the one time someone noticed, they said, "Hey, is that one of them blucigs?"

Blu was smart enough to market the blue led's on their cigs that for many people, blue LEDs = Blucigs.

Are we just giving them free advertising? It's a world of colors out there vendors!

Not only that, but why aren't more of the larger pv's made in brown? I want an ego that looks like a cigar so bad... or an 801 for that matter. It's low-hanging fruit!

Good question, you can get 510's with different colour LED's you just have to search for them a little harder.

Blue cig's are not quite as big here in the uk so cant say I ever thought about the advertising implications. Nice observation.

A good artist could make that happen, the right paint, a skilled hand, I don't see how making it look like a cigar would be to difficult, you could probably put a cool band on it too.

Some of my 510's have green lights and some have purple...at Cignot you can choose the light color.....

Doesn't the e-cigar have a red light ??

Check out the Boge Leo, it's a cigar-sized PV that comes in "cigar" and "woodgrain" finishes...

I can't stand the blue one's personally.
I like red/orange, purple led's and pink when I can find them.. pink led's are a rarity I've only found in 901 and KR8 batt's : (

I was buying SMT blue LED chips when they first came out @ $4.00 apiece. The red ones at the time were $0.25. So, blue LEDs are more expensive, but they look "cool" and Hi-Tech, and it seems that that's what people want...

Blue is in fashion right now. Red LEDs have been around since..well...the begining of LEDs. Now, my stove, fridge, microwave, satellite recievers, 1/2 my home theater and the freakin power light on this laptop have blue LEDs.

When I was vaping 510s I used blue, green and purple LEDs (from CigNot), but I got tired of having to cover the glowing LED when I was stealth vaping. Now I just vape an eGo.

I think this is what is really the cause of it. Blue just looks high tech. When I see a red LED I think of an old school alarm clock.

Just my opinion, but I've noticed that most leds on electronics have started moving towards blue as the color. My desk phone is about the only thing in my house that has the old standard of orange/red.

Blue has also become the most popular color for logos in advertisement. Due to the nature of our society, psychiatrists that work for larger corporations have suggested moving to a blue color as it promotes a "comforting" or "reassuring" feeling. The trend will change at some point. Personally, I hope the led trend moves to strobe. I want a strobe light on the end of my pv!

Sometime back in 08 or 09 a blue led penstyle 801 is what I got because I did not want it to look like a cigarette. They were new back then.

Once I got over being a NuB I didn't want any kind of light on my PV. As a NuB it gives some feedback, like when it's working, when to recharge, etc. Now I can tell just by the way it's acting what's going on. My mods don't have any sort of light and that's the way I like it.

I think it's a compromise to let vapers know it's working without making militant non smokers think it could be an analog. Blue is about as far from red or bright orange as you can get.

I like blue, but I like my green and purple lights too. My pink TW titan has a pink light that I love and I don't really like pink. I am not a girly girl but I can rock the pink titan.

I'm seeing more and more of this ever since some of the suppliers added a "Dry Cheerios and Apple Juice" flavor. Shame, really.
