I never thought of that
I in no way endorse vaping for non smokers but this might be a valid reason for some.
Probably healthier to vape that to be overweight.

From Mt Baker newsletter on 12/19/14
"Two: Lose Weight
Not surprisingly, the second most common New Year's Resolution is the desire to lose weight. While normally this is not something you would consider vaping to be associated with, it actually has the ability to make a dramatic positive impact on attaining your goal. Think about a time when you were dieting and you just craved that cinnamon roll. Did you stick to your guns and deny yourself, or give in? Either way, it was a difficult situation. Now consider this, you have resolved to lose weight this coming year and you start craving cinnamon rolls. Instead of running to the closest bakery, you pull out your e-cig and start vaping the delicious cinnamon roll e-juice, allowing you all of the flavor with none of the calories. You can keep your resolution without sacrificing the taster of your favorite treats!"

That never occurred to me before. Every time I quit smoking in the past I gorged on cookies and doughnuts and piled on the weight. When I quit and started vaping I didn't put on a pound.

Why are people so surprised when a never-smoker/nicotine user chooses to start vaping? Are you just as surprised every time you hear of a never-user has started to smoke cigarettes?

Once upon a time we were ALL never-users, and we started. So, given the choice of smoking or vaping, which would you prefer them do?

ETA: How the heck did I manage to miss the post immediately before mine, which asks the same question (but much more eloquently)? Theirs was posted hours ago! Oops! lol

Really? I smoked Camel non filtered, because it was cool. I smoked a lot, drank a lot at parties on weekends and drove fast; I was invincible...
That describes nearly everyone I went to school with. So what?

I vape 50mg @ 5 times the power your provarii can put out.

I don't vape but half the strongest I can get. I know because when I make it, I cut it exactly in half.

What do you vape? Who can handle what I do now?

So yeah.
Really.

I'm not even getting in to how I partied and acted. You wouldn't believe it. I still don't....

Here here, brother.

ME TOO

It was a long journey to find out that was what cut the cravings for me. Believe you me, I wish it took less. The nic base that's clean enough for my juice is expensive. Especially when you go through it like it's going out of style...

If e cigs were around when I was in high school, I would have vaped the highest nic available...

Perhaps you would have but not ever teen would. You also got to consider the fact that not everyone can handle the higher nic. When you vape too much nic you tend to have to deal with it irritating your throat and stuff. Not a lot of teens would like that. Many, especially those trying to look cool is more likely to use a lower nic amount then a higher if any at all. Smoking never irritated my throat like too high of nic does in juices. I bet most ex-smokers here can say the same thing. I do occasionally vape on 36 mg nic but my preference is 18 mg. A lot of juices higher then that tend to irritate my throat. As ex-smokers, our bodies are used to a higher nic. For someone who has never smoked though, their body isn't used to nic at all. With analogs we just had to deal with the head rush and stuff in the beginning as it all relaxed us. Not so with vaping. It also would be easier for them to OD on a higher nic juice then it would be from analogs. I know crazy as it sounds but you never heard of people ODing on analogs. lol. To test the waters I think most would start with a lower amount. Some might eventually work their way up some. But the majority of them are likely to never get up to the higher nic amounts ex-smokers tend to vape.

I have had anxiety and depression issues all my life, along with ADHD. Nicotine can help with those conditions, but I hated cigarettes enough not to pick them up. When my boyfriend brought home a vape starter kit, I tried his and it was really helpful with my anxiety. At that point, I was depressed to the point of considering ending my life, and while I don't give vaping all the credit for bringing me back to where I am now, it definitely factored in. I only vape 3mg but it's just enough to take the edge off for me, though sometimes I wonder if it's just the action and not the nicotine itself since I'm vaping such a low dose.

Well, we could put it in the other way,

Wy did we as a non smokers started to smoke when we were young?

I guess it's the same thing

I find it funny some people think vaping it's a right that only ex smokers have.

To me vaping it's not exclusive to get off cigs, not like gums or patches that the only porpuse is to get off cigs. Vaping, to me, it's just a different way to deliver nicotine, a safer way.

I say it's normal to see non smokers start vaping, like it's normal non smokers start smoking, as a matter of fact, rather see a non smoker start vaping than smoking.

A non smoker ( or a non nicotine user ) start using nicotine gums or patches, now that would be odd.

Non-smoking vaper here.

I've been vaping just over a year. I was dealing with depression and alot of stress as well as over eating. I didn't want to drink it away. I've been down that road and thats not where I wanted to be. So I started to vape. Something do with my hands in the evenings. It relaxes me and is a distraction. Gives me something to focus on. I started at 0 nic, moved up to 3mg, then 6. I bought a couple bottles in 12mg but found it to be too much for me.

I like it. I've lost 10#. I think vaping at night is better than sitting down and eating a bag of chips or a pint of ice cream before bed.

And showing off my gear has introduced it to friends and co-workers - 3 of which have also started vaping and gotten off cigarettes. (and who I was able to pass on my 12mg juices.

Its been a good thing in my life and am so happy to have found it. I think its been good for the folk around me too, who have been able to learn about vaping and use it to better their lives as well.
