Yup, That is the basis...
Why?!?
It's already been said that many of us started smoking, for what ever reason, back in the day when your choices were smoke or chew... choice is yours. Whether it was peer pressure, wanting to fit in with a group, thought it made you look cool or tough, stress, just to be a "rebel", growing up in a smoking household where you were already addicted to a point from years of second-hand exposure... there are many reasons.
I'm sure all the reasons that applied to smoking applies to the new never-smokers that take up vaping. Everyone already knows why smokers took up vaping, it's a no-brainer really... not much of a topic.
Everyone will have their reason, and I take it that the OP was just curious... wanted a discussion about what factors were at play for the new generation of vapers.
Reduce cravings, "Self-Medicate" with nicotine, always allured by smoking, the cool guys at the shop do it..., whatever... it is interesting to hear from others as to what it was that attracted them to vaping over other "activities".
I personally enjoyed hearing from them...
