Kevlar 5mm x Very strong low stretch fire proof on eBay (end time 18-May-11 14:07:19 BST)
Hi have a look at this , i did a google and it said it was inert, just a thought.I hope the link works its the first time i have done this

Kevlar wick may have a coating which does'nt take up e-liquid that well im sure i read that somewhere i will look into it again to make sure.
In the mean time you could also try these i can't see 1/16 listed but i don't see why they should'nt have it.

You'd better all be very careful with glass fiber wicks.
They are very dangerous cause of the small needle-like pieces that get detached from the main body of the wick and enter your lungs through respiration.
The wick that is used in A2 must be silika rope but I'm not really sure.
Glass fiber melts. A2's wick doesn't melt and doesn't burn at all.

I've never tried it, but this site has been mentioned by many on ECF as being a good source for silica rope, perhaps worth a look-
McMaster-Carr

I used the McMaster Carr round braided 3/8 inch silica rope for my eGo-T attys. It appears in every way exactly like the original that came with it. You have to wash it well in alcohol or burn it clean (with butane torch or as in my case on my propane grill flame) to get rid of any chemicals they put on to make it a rope rather than a wick. If you burn it, it first goes black and then white/silvery again with enough heat. Don't use a regular lighter, it's not hot enough and will only burn your fingers.

A foot was $3.71 and they charged about $4 to ship it. You can make thousands of wicks with a foot and they sent me 19 inches.

Hey Imeo, someone else mentioned the wick from the a2 and I would have to second that, the only thing is, Cetin who is the owner will not disclose where he gets the stuff but it does not have much of a taste and works really well. It wicks better than anything I have used. I really do think that it is glass by the way it looks and the name of it but the way the a2 is setup there is not really anyway that the glass could come through if it did break off but who knows.

Oh yes. It's not only possible but a fact.
I used the same cart on an A2 for about 2 months with glass fiber rope and I found out that there was a ball of fibers (at the size of lentil grain) stack up between the mouth piece and the the white part of the it. Who knows how much more of it entered my lungs?

I think A2 use fiberglass and I think its not safe.

Tomi, I cant read German but is this a fiber glass rope?

Mosh, my silica rope was bought from mcmasters and it had a taste thast I didnt like.

Juice, its not a bad idea what you do with this rope but I dont know if heat removes chemicals. I want something pure without chermicals that cant hurt anyone.
