Thanks again Tomi for the info. I also dont want to open an argument about this, I only want to find a safe material. I think that I will go for silica again but from another seller and I will try metal mesh too. For now I use the rope that China puts inside their atties. Does anyone knows what kind of material is this?

Oups, thats a very interesting info BuGG. Thanks a lot buddy, thats exactly what I was looking for. So the choices are 2. I have already ordered the mesh so I have to order this wick now. If mess works ok inside iatty then we will have 2 choices about wick and we will put inside iatty whatever we like

Oh yes. It's not only possible but a fact.
I used the same cart on an A2 for about 2 months with glass fiber rope and I found out that there was a ball of fibers (at the size of lentil grain) stack up between the mouth piece and the the white part of the it. Who knows how much more of it entered my lungs?

Its the same thing that a lot of Chinese companies use in their attys, I know for sure that a lot of clearomizers use it and also a lot of 901s, so it looks like a lot of us are in trouble.

from what I know they are silica Sparky

I spoke with the manufactures of a brand of clearomizers and I actually got a price from them to buy the fiberglass wick that they use, by the foot. From what I have read, a lot of Chinese attys use fiberglass wicks. And the only thing that I have been successful with is fiberglass rope, the taste is great, silica tasted nasty to me and I have not been able to figure out the steel wick yet. You should try to contact one of the atty manufactures and ask them.

Hi.Imeo.
If you planning on trying the steel mesh are you going to connect the rope wick to it or is the coil part of the atty at the bottom of the tank?
Its just that the mesh wont wick like rope will so a top feed won't get much juice.
It may also be hard for the juice to get into the mesh when its at the top as well

I used the McMaster Carr round braided 3/8 inch silica rope for my eGo-T attys. It appears in every way exactly like the original that came with it. You have to wash it well in alcohol or burn it clean (with butane torch or as in my case on my propane grill flame) to get rid of any chemicals they put on to make it a rope rather than a wick. If you burn it, it first goes black and then white/silvery again with enough heat. Don't use a regular lighter, it's not hot enough and will only burn your fingers.

A foot was $3.71 and they charged about $4 to ship it. You can make thousands of wicks with a foot and they sent me 19 inches.

Juice I had burned the silica rope before but taste was there. But I desided to give it a try again like you said by burning it too much this time. Wick stayed white and the smell gone!!

thanks for posting this buddy:)
