I'm just about to go into rebuilds with a RSST myself, so been watching a lot of videos and reading a lot, just watched a rip rippers video using a micro coil and mesh with cotton, may help you out

No idea about this stuff myself, but going to try this setup when mine gets here.

Yeah good video thats how I plan on running my Z atty when I get it. Never had much luck with regular coils in a genny with mesh. When it worked it was great but too much hassle for me.Since then only been wrapping micros for Reos and small drippers for wife so cant wait to try this out.

Been there, done that.
Works, but I find plain ol cotton ball wick wicks quicker and is easier to tune/build.

I've noticed a seasoned coil is more forgiving than a shinny new coil.
Remove wick from dark dirty coil and dry burn clean; that is what I'm calling a seasoned coil.
It looks clean after dry burn but seems to distribute heat smother than new coil.
Perhaps it has a thin layer of carbon which dials temp down a notch.

Not sure why everybody isn't running dual wicks. Wicking is fast. Chain vape compatible. Performs like a dripper. Can TP pull refresh. I highly recommend giving dual wick a try.

I've got mesh coming, but been seeing many people saying cotton is better, so plan to move onto cotton, just think mesh will be easier to work with for a newbie like me to start with :)

Yeah its one of those things that mesh might be perfect for you vs cotton for me.Same as people swear by carto tanks but Ive only ever had issues with them. Atleast with rebuildables does not cost to much to mess around and find your sweet spot !

Since were chatting while waiting for our new buddy.DO you find with the cotton you get less leak issues with cotton in genny vs mesh ?

My gennies never leak while standing.
If block deck holes with cotton they can lay for several minutes w/o leaking.
My drilled deck cloud maker genny will leak quick on it's side.

I use the low quality but high performance FT SS thick wall screw cap cobra for upright watch pocket carry; works great looks junky. It can lay on it's side for a good while before leaking. It has emptied when carried in regular pocket w/o leaving a trace. In another thread we concluded pocket gremlins steal the juice.
