Hmm. I'd recommend downloading a live repair/recovery/utility CD such as one of the older Hiren's Boot CDs and use the Mini XP distro that is built inside the disc. Fire up the networking application, jump on the web, download the update, and get to flashing.

Or you could download/install vmware player and create a virtual XP install so that you can easily fire it up if you need to do something that is absolutely Windows specific.

I exclusively use Ubuntu on my home computer(s) and have a virtual XP install just for these tasks.
Hey those are good suggestions thanks. Its just. My computer is pretty old. It runs xubuntu ok for small stuff. But i just dont know how it would run a vm. Any idea of where i could get that repair img and if i could run it on a usb stick?

If it was me I'd do it at work or a friend's computer. I updated one of mine on my work pc and it took less than 2 minutes to download and install.

Well, at first, I was about to just get rid of this mod...even though I currently don't have anything regulated, outside of two minivolts, but don't get high enough in wattage to fit my needs/desires.

I was having issues with temp control with SS 316L.. I don't know what was going on. Constant issues, even things that should have been ironed out with the 3.0 update, that was already installed on the mod when I received it. At first, things seemed to be working, but that was just with test fires, and I had too much going on to wick it with a coil setup I wanted to use, and also go outside to vape it(due to current living situation).

When I finally got around to trying to vape it, I was constantly getting the temp protection message. I dialed the temp and wattage all across the board, and nothing would work. So after stressing out about that for a day or two, I sat it in my drawer, and a couple of days later, I pulled it out, and voila! I don't know why, but it decided to be obedient, but didn't want to fully test the temp protection, due to the juice I've been using to break it in was purchased, and not made by me...didn't want to waste an amount of juice that costs the same as a bottle I'd be able to make on my own...lol, almost at least.

Only things I notice now, even though I lock my resistance before I start using it for the day, I still notice that the resistance reading will fluctuate with the stumpy I'm currently using..haven't tried other atomizers since I just threw the stumpy's back on after trying out the few that I received with my ebay shopping spree. I haven't noticed this happening before. 0.10-0.12 Ohms...which is a pretty big deal with the TCR of SS. I'm still trying to dial it into perfection, so I have my custom settings at 88, 92, and 98. Cuz I've gotten mixed things about the RX200 SS being for 304 or 317, but I kinda think that is bs, considering the wismec website specifically says 316L.
I also have had the random issue of it kicking me out of temp control to VW. It's happened when I switched to atomizers with lower resistances than what was on before, but the other day, I had it happen to me after I was using the atomizer for quite a bit of time, and all of the sudden, I'm thinking I'm about to see a Temp protection message, but was just seeing "20 W," even though I have VW set up for at least 50 Watts.

I was negligent, and I didn't put my batteries on a meter after my first discharge. I got two sets of HG2's. I charged one set on my charger, and I charged one set with the mod. Although I didn't measure the voltage of the batteries after the ones that charged through the mod discharged, one battery took twice as long to charge than the other two. Even though my charger was charging at 1 Amp after the other two were removed from the charger, it still took an extra 45+minutes for the last one to fully charge... If I get a chance, I'll charge the other set through the mod, and measure the voltage before and after discharging.

I went ahead and labeled my batteries after hearing and reading that the RX200 doesn't do balance charging, but has this been proven otherwise? I would assume it would, if it has the ability to monitor individual cells, and I would think that joyetech wouldn't skimp out on a feature like that.

I am loving stainless steel though. I plan to continue using it on all my mods for now on..

All in all, I do love this mod. The form factor is pleasant, and build quality feels solid...but I'm seeing too many of them. I'm a bit of a hipster when it comes to having things that others don't..or maybe I'm just too punk rock. I'm not upset about the temp control issues, as I've never had an issue in determining when to drip again. I see this being a bigger issue if I was a tank user, rather than being a dripper purist...but I'm open for options on tanks from you all- seeing a lot of familiar faces in here. I just stopped searching for new tanks after a few I tried after having an estia- which I still love, but I'm fully transitioned into an airy lung hitter. If there's anything that offers the same flavor as a stumpy, that's also rebuildable-with ease, I'm all ears.

I'm not a complete lung hitter (yet) but I like this mod so much, too! :)

Yet is right. The transition is slow but these tanks today just kind of change the way you vape over time.....Suddenly you are using 3-4 times the juice you used to in a day.....It gets worse....Soon you will have 3 of these mods and then 3 of all different types in every room.....ShinyItis

My batteries are always different by about .2v max! There is always a pair that is exactly the same & 1 that is lower! They never seem to go below like 3.3v even when I use them until the RX stops firing (which I seldom do).
I seem to always have 2 nearly the same and 1 about .1 higher. Close enough for govt work. I have noticed it measure the resistance higher then my VTC minis though. Only about .02 but with Ti coils that is a bit.

For me the mini is more accurate but the RX works fine with its resistance levels also just a little different temp with the Ti but for the money I really have no complaints about either one of them. The SX is far superior IMO to anything else on the market but you have to pay for that. Also IMO the mini and RX work great in TC and I could vape either one in place of the SX all day. May not last as long but who knows. Oh also IMO the Ti from Temco is the best I have used for people in the states. I prefer the 26 to the 24 but that is for my style of vaping. Takes less power and hits temp faster. By far the softest Ti I have worked with. Give it a try.

I knew it was covered by something but didn't want to say anything and send you off on a wild goose chase.

I'll keep my finger crossed that just jiggling the connection will solve you problem.
Unfortunately my RX200 is still acting up... what I described earlier, about the battery meter being empty then moving back to where it's supposed to be, is what happens when you first put the batteries in and the device comes on. So it looks like the device is losing power somehow when I push the fire button. I can't seem to duplicate it, but I did notice a couple of times when I was checking the battery voltage by holding down the power and down buttons that the device would power on by itself, pretty much behaving the same way. There must be something loose somewhere...
