I don't think it's battery sag at 40-50 watts unless they were almost dead. It could be one mod fires high, one low, or a combination of both. Maybe the atty is making better contact on the RX200. Another possibility would be the placebo effect. Without an inline meter it's just guessing on my part.

Cheers,
Steve
Ok..thanks just wondered..whatever it is so far loving the vape on the RX 200[emoji7]

This past weekend, I posted on this thread, that my RX200 would not go into TC mode. Was going to send the unit back and get a new RX200. I emailed Wismec this past weekend also, and they just replied to my concern that the unit would not go into TC.. I sent them a video, showing them the problem and they replied stating that since my build was over 1.0 OHMS, it would not enter TC. I just finished a 0.5ohm build and the unit works perfectly. Three clicks and I was in TC

Just a heads up to others who posted the same problem.. I can't believe how quickly Wismec responded. T'his is a great mod. Hopes this help other users.

After reading about this on a range of forums I am now to be honest calling bs on the mod being at fault with the recent incident I think the mod was a victim of clueless user and at worst dishonest b&m looking to cover their backside. He was a customer then he was a worker at the vape shop multiple versions of what happened and zero information of any meaning that would allow a proper explanation or analysis. Perhaps the dodgy battery's were sold at that vape store and they don't want that as an advertisement or maybe the whole thing happened as a result of a clueless employee, whatever it was for every user of this mod that has bought good quality battery's and keeps an eye on the battery wraps I don't think you need to be concerned about the mod or your safety using the mod.

I'm a bit angry with a vape shop putting this up the way they have nice dramatic pictures that can be picked up by anybody and used for whatever agenda but zero absolutely zero real information. At this time with what's happening with vaping to do this is very irresponsible and does the whole community a disservice as well as bringing unwarranted concern to many other user's of this mod who are not cheap and clueless and have done things the correct way with this mod. My future order for three more is still on track and this has not put me off one iota, I still believe for the money this is a damn good mod that now has to deal with the aftermath of this unfairly.

Just throwing this theory out with the rest:

RX200 buyer comes to vape shop with their new shiny mod and two batteries from another box mod (they are pretty common nowadays). Needs another battery to try it out and gets one from the person behind the counter. Slaps batteries in said mod whips out a RDA (looks to be some type of custom drilled device) with some alien/clapton/skeletor/fused mess coil (gotta chuck the cloudzzz brah!) Cranks it up to 200W cus it can. Hits fire. Unmarried/random/unbalanced battery takes the brunt of the load and says fsck it I'm outta here. Mod starts to sizzle/smoke/malfunction. User takes cover off to see and battery finally lets loose thus, burning the user's hand.

Why someone would walk in with a new mod and TWO new batteries doesn't sound very plausible. I just purchased my mod and a set of batteries just for it. i chose LG HG2 as I need the mahs and am a lower wattage vaper normally (30-40W TC mode). Made logical sense to me.

Looking at the damage to this person's hand it does appear that it is on the outside of the fingers meaning that the battery door story may be plausible. I don't have mine yet but looking at photos of the mod if you go to grip the battery door the outside of your fingers will be the first exposed when you go to remove the cover and in danger if a battery is venting.

I doubt the battery spontaneously vented on its own. It had to have a load or short of some kind and I am leaning more towards load. Most 18650 failures I have seen on the 'tube have been somewhat controlled to a certain point. Sizzle sizzle smoke smoke then the potential for boom. I have yet to see one that just goes boom without some type of indication that it is running away.

Also looking at the damage the two back cell holders have equal burn damage leading me to believe that the front cell was the one that vented, and more than likely the house battery.

Just my simpleton analysis.

Can't wait for mine to get here! I think the wife is going to make me wait until christmas to open it up and play. No worries though as I'll have a few tanks and drippers TC ready :)

Oh and who the heck is MXJO and when did they hit the scene? Rhetorical question as I have seen the test results MXJO Yellow/Silver 35A 3000mAh 18650 Bench Test Results...only a 15A-20A battery, but near an HG2

I just scratch my head asking why would anyone buy a cell from a completely unknown (new-ish rather) company? Are LG/Samsung/Panasonic/Sony not reputable enough?

Oh and the user account and story has been removed from reddit.... Hmmmmm.....

Yeah the original account has vanished from a couple of places my guess is they realised versions weren't matching and some people on the internet don't just believe everything they see, add in that the employee made one comment on here and vanished just multiplies my distrust of the whole thing. Bad press for a good mod and more damage done to a community I just hope anyone that knows this particular b&m shows their opinion by going elsewhere.

I’m not having much luck with the RX200 in TC mode. No matter what I’m running (Ni, Ti or SS) it starts off fine but, when I set it down for a while then pick it up, it hits temp limit immediately. It's not a tepid vape, it's zero vape once it wakes up.

Don’t think it’s user error since I’m running the same TC builds just fine on my DNA 40, DNA 200, Evic mini, IPV4S, Koopor Mini, and Koopor Plus. Even my crappy iStick 40w works more reliably in TC mode than the RX200.

Did the firmware update. Tried a lot of different attys on it with the same results. Starts out fine; comes out of sleep brain dead. No difference in performance if I lock the resistance or keep it unlocked.

Probably a defective unit since I know others are having good performance with TC on the RX200. Works great in wattage mode, and I love the form factor and battery life so I’m not all that upset (well, the fact that I got it for free on the Wismec FB giveaway does a lot to alleviate any upset feelings). If I paid for it, however, I’d be looking to RMA it back to the vendor.

Anyone else having similar problems?

Haz what wattage you using in tc mode by default it's the full 200 watts. Rabbit I think on the battery front it's more about using good brands and using proper battery practice eg. Marrying the battery's and rotating them and so on.

Are you locking the resistance?

Sent with one hand, the other is busy vaping.

I have a question about wismec's warranty...

"Product failure or damage caused due to usage with non-WISMEC components (charger, battery and power cable)"

They don't make batteries, so how does that work?
That simply means any damage caused by anything other then the mod isn't coveres....i.e. faulty battery for example

Sent with one hand, the other is busy vaping.

Thanks for all the input. I’ll try to hit all the questions asked below:

Hardware ver is 1.0; firmware has been updated to 1.07

Tried with resistance locked and with it unlocked. No difference in behavior when coming out of sleep.

Used a variety of attys on it both ones I’ve built in Ti and SS (Aromamizer, Goliath, Velocity, Troll) and Ni (Apollo), and pre-built coils (Ni on Subtank, SS on Smok VCT). In every case the atty will work as it should when I take it off the RX200 and put it on another TC device.

I’ve played with it enough that I’m confident that it’s a problem with my board. It sounds exactly like the same situation a few people are experiencing with the Evic VCT mini, which makes sense since Joytech makes the board for both. I know the issue is uncommon with the Evic and I’ve never had that problem with mine, so hopefully it will be uncommon with the RX200 as well.

On the plus side, wattage mode is working great. I finally have a mod that will actually give me a full day's worth of use without a battery swap!
