Uhm, but they ARE balanced perfectly on 3.6v. All of them. Not even 0.01 difference on multimeter between any. I'm really coming to think that some RX200 chips are better and some are worse, just like CPU's/GPU's. I've had the same stuff going on with other 18650's. I'd be happy with 0.1 or even 0.2 difference, but 0.5 is just too much and that happens sometimes.

1st battery gets always detected lower than the actual voltage
2nd battery always higher
3rd battery around the same, it's funky there.

I'll surely post back here as HG2's will get used more and more.

Is there any software for RX200 apart from the firmware updates?
DNA200 has all of that nice curves, eScribe and checking the voltage/charging on the PC. Is there/Will there be something similar for our RX200's?

I have very annoying connection problems when attaching any atomizer to this device. Yesterday I was putting my aromamizer on with fused 28/36 n80/ka1 Claptons. After screwing down, it was reading at 0.30ohms. I took it off because I forgot to check/clean the 510 to make sure nothing would cause a fluctuation. Screwed it back down and it was reading 0.23ohms. That's weird. So I unscrewed it a little until it wasn't reading the atty and put it back down and it went to 0.27ohms. I have no loose connections in the tank, and it shows a stable resistance on every other mod I own.

I ended up tearing the mod apart last night to see if I had any issues with the 510 itself. To my surprise, it is just a cheap/junk 510. I don't think it's even spring loaded. I think the way the positive wire is run provides enough resistance to "spring" the pin back up. I went ahead this morning and bought some varitube smooth black 510s and will be replacing mine soon.

I hate that I feel the need to go to this length just to get a decent vape on a brand new mod, but I'd rather have peace of mind that I fixed the problem myself rather than try to go through the trouble of exchanging for a new unit and risking the chance of having the same problem.

I'm a external charger person. I have a Nitecore D4 and 8 batteries in rotation as sets.
When I use the RX, I find the reported voltage from the device to be different by some degree.
If I take the batteries out right then and put them on the D4, they all read identically.

I'm not a fan of USB charging and only do it with my phone where I have no choice.
My sister-in-law has had a couple of spinners self-destruct while charging and I have no desire to see what a 18650 looks like when it does.

Pass thru sounds like Russian Roulette to me.

Plus, I don't have to wait for a full charge, just remove the discharged ones and slap charged ones in.
This worked fine even during a trip to the Arctic Circle last summer.

I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

Yes, I also carry multiple cells around (safely) and will continue to do so, but my interest is solely in knowing that using the usb occasionally to charge will not result in global Armageddon. Such usage would most likely be less like Russian Roulette and more like a calculated and acceptable risk. Not trying to pick a fight here. I tend to agree with you more than it might seem. My default — for everything — is to just not do it until fully understood, and I am still a long ways away from such certainty.

Fact is none of us but the most dedicated will ever know anything to a full degree of certainty. I think using absolutist or hyperbolic terms is unhelpful and often misleading. I constantly see instances of people absolutely loving something right up until they absolutely hate it! All of us with experience with e-cigs owe it to those less experienced to be more nuanced and use careful language when making statements about controversial and/or unknown subjects.

I have no confidence in the battery voltage readings. I am at a point with the battery bar flashing. Batteries are showing 3.22,3.23, 3.29 and when I change them even though on the charger they all show 4.2 they will read differently on here. I really don't worry about it as long as it is vaping perfectly. I kinda quit checking them. I know when I put these on the charger they will all read 3.3

Please do post a modding log here. I also had similar stuff with my rta. Stock coil of Zephyrus v2 works well, but after I built high resistance coil it was all a different story. It might not be my fault as it seems.

The RX200 is probably testing the voltages under a full load for its main determination of safety.

The batt check display we see is not under load (the mod isn't firing). A multimeter reading wouldn't be either, but that wouldn't account for the discrepancy. So that's a mystery.

Maybe the RX200 meters are trying to guess what it would be under load, based on last firing, or something like that.

If anyone has a DNA200 Reuleaux, it would be interesting to put the same batteries in it and see what the device manager shows when firing, to see how the voltages compare under load. I think the DNA200's reporting to EScribe is probably pretty accurate.

A mystery indeed. Back in the day a designer would copyright a design and could provide detailed schematics etc, but today for various reasons we do not see that sort of thing much if at all any more. Most of what we do know comes from talented amateurs or experts in similar fields and by the time there is anything firm to report the tech changes again! Still, it's as much fun figuring this stuff out as it is to simply load up a battery or five, an atty (or soon two? lol) and some tasty squeeze and vape away like a cow happily chewing it's cud.

Mooooo, I say.

edit: Well now. lookie what just landed.

I got white cause I figured it would be more visible from across the shop than black, but... hmmmmm. I suppose I'll get used to it eventually.
Firing up the windows partition and loading the revision asap.

Well a few guys got their Cuboids. Haven't heard much except the STM fits on it tightly. My package got to MVS today so will be ordering soon can't decide on another R and 2 Cuboids or what. That blue is kinda purdy and I have no problem with the way it works. I had a few problems with the resistance getting it to stay on the right number but got it on .28 and locked all my tanks are built the same so works just fine there. The cleaner the coil the lower the temp setting and visa versa but I can live with that. I have 10 VTC5's coming tomorrow and a new VP4 Xtar will be here today. That would be just enough for another 6 for an R and 4 for the 2 Cuboids. I'll decide when some hands on reports come in from these guys. Not even sure if I would bother with the update if all it does is raise them to 200w I don't need that 150w is about 100w more then I would ever use.

Turns out mine had 1.07 on it already, so I went ahead and done the deed. I think it went fine... I show 1.08 if I click the button six million times so I reckon she's ready to rumble. Put the now cold STM on after reducing the watts to 75 and making sure all the settings were good and fired it up on 400 degrees. It ramped up extremely fast and kinda cooked things a bit so I reduced to 40 watts. Now when temp control kicks in it kinda hunts around, or surges if you will. I am gonna fiddle with the wattage, heat etc and see where it likes to be. I didn't lock the res and it started going weak and hunting even more so I pulled the STM and will let it cool, then try again and lock it ... er, how soon should I do that anyway? After the first pull or two?

But geebus, this thing feels nice in the mitt don't it? I figgered it'd feel like sucking on a football, but no way Joe. Feels goooooooood. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

edit: BTW Wismec/ Joytech/ Mork and Mindy or whatever, do NOT ship these things set to 200 watts! Prit'near put my eye out!

editx2: I don't think Imma gonna locka the resistance. Ima lettit do it's thing and worry 'bout that if'n I notice sumpin outta whack. Turns out the surging is just me not knowing how to set it up — yet. Getting so much better all the time.

Wouldn't last a day for me. I'm a bit worried that I'm sucking down close to 50ml/day nowadays. Have a ten day tour in February-March and bringing that much liquid, and batteries enough to be on the safe side, will be a bit difficult :)

Oh ya. I have already seen a steep spike in my fluid intake, but it's so much cleaner and fresher this way it's hard to slow down. BTW, I did wind up locking the res because the way I vape appears to cause this thing issues, if set down for a few minutes then hammered again. Once locked at room temp and reloaded with the now also room temp tank, it vapes like a champ. I found the ramp too steep so I dialed the watts back to 20. Talk about a wuss! Zero risk of me forcing any thermal runaways at this rate.

Yeah, at 6.66w ( \m/ ) per battery you're back in the Ego stick & Ce4 clearo-days (if you vaped back then) :)

Hey guys. So I remember back in this thread someone was talking about their 510 pin being stuck. So I looked at mine and I can't tell if it's stuck or not. It is flush with the black ring around it and when I press it down with a screwdriver it does move a little.

Mine is the same way. Very little compression. But it does move.
