I can say that they are using a 120 value for their SS setting. On my vtc mini and cuboid if I run 105 as the setting for the tcr my temps are all equal and the rx200 in ss mode is also equal. If I set the rx200 to 105 tcr it will hit temp protect almost immediately. I played with the numbers between 90-130 and 120 is identical to their preset SS setting.

Interesting, so for me as I use 304SS there was no need for the update but it's awesome that they actually put it out. And I like the new wire selection menu anyways. I hated clicking 3 times over and over.

Can someone explain the difference between this most recent update and older versions, and what it affords us for those who are relative TC-newbies? Or if it has already been done, can someone tell me what # reply it is? A lot in here...

Also, has anything else changed besides a few new options and a different way to scroll through settings? Is there a full list?

Mine just arrived this morning. Worked fine straight out of the box at v1.08, but went ahead and updated to 3.0 first thing. Worked for a few minutes but then wouldn't recognize the atomizer for some reason. Had to reinstall v3.0 and now it seems to be working fine again. Minor issue, but hopefully won't happen again when I'm away from a computer.

Aside from that, I really like the mod. Great form factor (fits great in the hand) and I can tell I'm going to love the battery life. I'll get to playing around with the TC features this weekend, but am already enjoying it in wattage mode.

Dirtyvapes version 3 of the firmware now allows the user to set a TCR themselves rather then use the pre sets as before. Turn off the RX hold fire button and up button and after a few seconds you'll see "M1 120" press fire button till the 120 is highlighted and alter to your desired TCR. Some other minor tweaks but that's the big one we were waiting for definitely an upgrade worth having.

@Rizzyking I'm sorry, I've been vaping for what feels like forever but this temp control stuff is so new to me.

Is M1, M2, and M3 for Nickel, Titanium, and SS, respectively, or something else? Are there accepted ranges for each TCR# or will it depend on the coil? Can it be fooled around with to dial in on a personally preferred setting or is it more the type of thing where a given coil will work better if you know the appropriate TCR value to use?

thanks a lot, even that was a big help. I really love this mod. I may need another.

I am using a 22 gauge 316L wire, and tcr at 088 is perfect.
SS seems to have more variance between different manufacturers of the same "grade" then any other wire so far :p

YES !
From a metallurgical properties standpoint all alloy wires (those which depend on a mixture of atomic species to achieve their properties) are always going to have a TCR which is variable depending on the chemistry of the specific "batch" of alloy used to make the wire. That's one of the reasons that Grade 1 titanium ("pure titanium")is preferred by so many for vaping. It is a "single element" material and its TCR is highly uniform and predictable and can generally be relied on to give similar vaping performance no matter the source or batch.

There are some suppliers such Sweet Vapes that are producing lower quality titanium wire and claiming that they have proprietary annealing processes to remove excess oxygen from grade 2 titanium which makes it superior. It is thermodynamically impossible to remove oxygen from solid titanium by an annealing process so their claims are considered to be hype which is intended to "justify" a higher price than pure Grade 1 titanium. Fortunately they do provide a TCR value for their hyped wire which allows it to work but still they are in effect reaching into the pocket of folks with no metallurgical background to relieve them of hard earned cash.

If an alloy wire is chosen it's always good to do some detailed confirmation testing of the TCR value of the specific batch of wire to achieve reasonable results.

I personally think it's unfortunate that many mod makers are including a TCR value for "Stainless Steel"
without even designating the general type of the alloy. There are literally hundreds of stainless steel alloys in common use and unsuspecting vapers have little chance to know what the proper TCR setting is for the specific wire or batch they are trying to build with without doing detailed testing of their own.

Ugh, I've already been reading on other places and some threads in here to get an idea but I cannot get a nickel coil to even fire with the manual TC settings. Can anyone recommend a TCR setting that will actually work, or is something odd going on? Still working fine in actual Ni mode but not as well as I'd like.

M1-2-3 are user definable settings so you can dial the TCR into the wire your using at a time, it's all simpler for me now as I only use 430 ss good to go in temp or power modes and it's the cleanest tasting wire I've used yet. All wires have a base TCR but as discussed above there can be variation such as the RX my TCR should be 0138 but I was getting a poor vape off that upped it to 0172 and the vape is normal. All wires have a TCR a Google search will usually provide the answer and as I said make minor increases or decreases to get you where you want to be.

Ugh yeah, I found them on Google before the answers started coming in... the problem was that I didn't understand how the value was being expressed on the actual device, since actual TCRs are tiny tiny numbers. I was setting it way too low. All good now! Working like a dream.

Yes. As you noticed... using Shenzhen Math , we drop a couple of leading zeroes for the JoyeTech displays (VTC, RX and Presa).

So, in general... Nickel will be around 0600, SS around 0100 and Ti... ? What's that, 0300 ish, or 0200?

It is truly unbelievable. I got mine on Monday and for $40, it's practically already given me more value than some other mods. Seems better built, too.

This is like the first thing ever that seemed too good to be true but so far is actually just that good.

I've got 4 rx200's and 3 cuboids on order joyetech have upped the game lately and put a lot of more expensive mods to shame but that's why there is a backlash from some against them. Now I've got the ml I enjoy it but is it worth 5 rx200's not even close and if I had the money again I'd go with more rx's and cuboids.

I think i like my Cuboids more than the rx200's. Best mods out right now imho.
