There should be no more regulation (in my opinion) than one experiences in a restaurant. The chef has the liberty of choosing his ingredients (within reason) in preparing a meal. Most restaurants are subject to health inspections and standards are set that "should" be maintained in the course of normal operations.

Beyond that, any "regulations" are unnecessary and excessive in my opinion.

Thank you.

That summarizes it.
That's the WAY to regulate the ecig market.

Unfortunately, so far, the only interpretation so far of regulating ecigs is to ban or restrict.

I expect that just as the food industry regulations grew out of consumer groups themselves, it is really up to us the users to lobby for what regulations are actually required.

eg:
Shouldn't sealed eliquid bottles have an expiry date on the label?

Do you trust strangers on the interweb selling Juice...

This got me to thinking, i really need put in an order and drive the ~10 minutes out to Clark (Kent) and Nicoticket, not only to finally try the juice but to meet the maker face to face, who knows maybe he'd even give me a glimpse of the lab (obv not enter, and obv doubtful).

Would assume meeting the mixologist, seeing the lab, and taking the owners word on whats in the juice is about a much piece of mind as anyone could expect at this point(aside from DIY).

That's a terrible example of e-cigarette regulation. How long an e-liquid stays good depends on a bunch of factors outside the control of the manufacturer. The two most important are storage temperature and the flavoring used.

I have some e-liquids that are nearly three years old, and they're still just fine. They never get above about 65 degrees, and for most of the year, they're cooler than that. Light never touches the bottles.

On the other hand, last summer I left a half-used bottle of a non-favorite e-liquid where it got hit by sunlight for about an hour per day over the course of a few weeks. Sometimes, the temperature of the bottle exceeded 90 degrees. It went from pale orangey-yellow to a light van .... or seal brown (pretty dark), the cherry+lime flavor turned disgusting and the oxidized nicotine added an earthy, full ashtray-like overtone to everything. That stuff went down the drain.

A vastly more sensible regulation would be to require "born on" dates on labels.

Tried DIY..
Had some success with VG and Flavors..
but
Im actually afraid of adding nicotine to my home esauce...
I don't know how much to add and where to buy it

Buy 100%PG with 24mg nicotine unflavored. And you can just use that as your source of nicotine and just add a small amount to your own liquid to test taste.

For making eliquid you need a Eliquid Calculator like "EJuiceMeUp". Play around with it until you're satisfied you know it. Some good vendors for buying Nicotine Base is RTSVapes, Wizard Labs and EcigExpress.

There we go. Require 'born on' date on label.

Actually I was thinking from what you were saying, liquids should require labelling concerning
- whether they need to be kept out of sunlight, and
- what storage temperature range they should be kept at.

I get made to order liquid in dark brown glass pharmacy type bottles from a guy who does DIY himself, but the sealed overthecounter factory stuff I get from pharmacies is in plastic clear bottles; which has me wondering what's in those plastic bottles; I feel pretty sure there's stuff in there other than pg and vg and nicotine and flavoring, but I don't know what it is and I ain't so sure I want to be vaping that stuff.

It's been happening so much lately I've stopped looking them up.`
You can't prove they're an ANTZ or someone just parroting what they've read from the ANTZ so may as well treat them like they're either. Say where their information comes from and offer the real information.

I feel ya, I really do. Thanks for not taking my comment the wrong way. It really trips me out how so many threads like this one have been started lately. When I first joined the forum and seen talk about regulations, taxes, bans, and ANTZology I pretty much dismissed it as paranoia. But now that my own vaping knowledge base has increased I see now hat all of these are very legitimate concerns and threats to vapers. Hell, to our individual rights for that matter. And I was reared to believe that "if it walks like a duck and it talks like a duck, then it's a duck" So I agree If you talk like an ANTZ and you post like an ANTZ, well, you're an ANTZ.
I guess I will hold out hope that if you really are a newb to vaping and to this forum please refrain from ANTZ speak. Cause you'll get your ... nailed to a proverbial crucifix if you aint careful or if you are a true ANTZ.
Which is fine by me. I don't want them here any more than anyone else does.
GO AWAY YOU DAMN ANTZ!!! And ANTZ wanna be's

ANTZ are the same as the bug ants.

Ants come in small armies. (ANTZ team up with other ANTZ). They love to converse with each other and spout out lies.

Ants make their way in your house. (ANTZ are on the news and write facticious articles we see on TV/newspapers/online).

Ants protect their nest at all cost. (ANTZ protect their nests too. Their nest is money). They will write half-truths and poorly written articles with no research whatsoever. Many are backed by hidden agendas from BT or BP.

Ants are aggressive and dangerous in numbers. (ANTZ are extremely dangerous in numbers). These numbers can cause negative changes to large amounts of people.

Ants like sweet foods. (ANTZ love sweets. Most article writers of ANTZ propaganda are heavy from desserts, pies, and cakes). No offense to overweight folks but when you slam others for something you think is harmful, first cast the mote from thy own eye.

Ants are found all over the world except Antartica. (ANTZ are everywhere, except Antartica as well). They shutter at the cold environment because food is scarce.

Ants attack and defend themselves by biting and, in many species, by stinging, often injecting or spraying chemicals such as formic acid. (ANTZ will attack without provocation on a whim. They also bite and sting with rediculous lies and inject poisin into the masses.)

Ants are considered as pests and a nuisance. (ANTZ are a nuisance. They torture vapors in an evil attempt to force them into regulations and taxes.)

ANTZ would love nothing more than to see us all like little ants all traveling one direction and brain washed. The only way to rid ants/ANTZ is to squash the nest with the Queen(gov and law makers)inside. Squashing lies by proving truths and making our voice heard.

i'll take a few puffs of whatever you're smoking too

must be some heavy ....

not to derail the thread but I have a question. Would I just then mix up a 100% vg juice to my liking then add half and half with the 24pg to give me a 50/50 mix at 12mg?
