OK not really...but it avoided much unpleasantness!
I had a batch of bad batteries apparently (I have a thread in the general discussion). One of them burned a hole through itself.
Since I use the 901->801 adapter (for air flow and to keep liquid off the batteries if it leaks from dripping) I avoided a lung full of battery fumes, and the XHaler itself protected me from the battery acid.
