Thank you Karen, I got the pitcher at Hobby Lobby, got a beautiful matching coffee mug at the same time. Everything says microwave and dishwasher safe, so a week later i noticed the mug was cracking, more than just the glaze, so I took it back and exchanged it for another. After a couple of months of very careful use, no microwave to warm cold coffee, and carefully handwashing and viola, again starts with glaze crazing and then into full blown cracks. It's beautiful stuff but not properly glazed and fired obviously. The pitcher has been sitting there with flowers in it and is ok but I sure wouldn't recommend it to anyone. :(

I appreciate the compliments on the photo too. :) Not too bad for a cell phone shot, it's just so easy to use it and send the pic to dropbox even though there is a nice Nikon DSLR sitting not 6 feet away. lol.

I want that rooster pitcher! I love it and I love your Provari! Nice!
Even your pic shows you are an artist. great angle, perfect placement with pitcher in the background and provari off to the side in the foreground, very much like you would see on a web page for advertisement.

I love Heart. I grew up on them in local taverns. They could play Kashmir better than Zepplin. I have a bootleg soundboard album from a concert they did at the memorial stadium in seattle with it on. To my knowledge, they never recorded the song on any production. There were a lot of local bands that went national at the time.

My thing with girl groups came from a comment from an "elightened male" when I wanted him to hear a new group I liked (shared interest in music) and he commented that he was tired of ... "chick rock". What? A little more investigation turned up that was common. A token female lead was acceptable. A whole band of professional female musicians were not or considered a novelty - not due to skill or talent. That is so wrong. That glass ceiling exists to this day. Music is one of the most sexist occupations around. Aimee Mann couldn't get a contract so she started her own featuring only female groups. Sarah Mclachian couldn't bust the glass ceiling so she started the Lilith Fair (instantly dubbed lesbo affair in typical male homophobic fashion). And then ironically, turned down an artist called "Storm Large" because she wasn't "womanly enough" (she's over 6' tall). That was funny. You can find Storm's response all over You Tube. Her whole album (on CD Baby) is empowering. So there's even infighting among women.

Anyway, there's a whole treasure trove of women in music where they actually know how to play instruments and can write music, that I would not place in a genre as "chick rock" or lesbo rock. Kind of a pet peeve and passion I guess.

Here's Storm's response to Sarah Mclachian...

Hope ya' like it.

Wow! I am impressed by her voice, she certainly has a sense of humor. I never heard of her before now. I only know Sarah and some of her more commercial songs.

I went and read the sticky note on the New Members Forum. Looks like they are now wanting to use that Forum to weed out Scambots and Spam from ECF and not for what most people think of when you think of the new members forum. The second half of the sticky I do not fully understand the intention and purpose. I hope I am totally not getting it.

It is instructing experienced users to not post and lurk in New Members and to wait for threads to be moved to appropriate forums. In my mind that defeats the purpose of New Members Forum for the people who want to go back and help truly New Members with critical questions in their first days of vaping. How easy is it going to be for someone like me, with at least some experience to help someone choose a kit or maybe fix a leaky clearo or help figure out why an ego won't charge, if I am not to post there. This Forum is so large that I have a hard time finding threads that I want to post in if I do not post at once or subscribe to them. I get lost on here all the time. I do not get it.

LOX. Can you explain this to me. Am I totally misunderstanding this?

While - I'm not "lox" (of Course) - Hopefully the following link will clarify and explain why there is that New "Sticky" (see "rolygate's" answer at end) in the New Members Sub-forum: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/site-feedback-help/505339-just-my-opinion.html

:censored: Get Ready . . . AND - Be Forewarned . . . LONG "RANT" & Soapbox . . . :censored:

Now as for the other discussions I finally got through reading . . .

As someone who personally has had to deal with the current systems of what is called incorrectly "Welfare" by many people (especially, since "public schools" and "unemployment" are also a forms of ""Welfare" to just give 2 examples) and has previously been given aid/"Welfare" a number of times throughout their life and is also now receiving "Welfare" in the form of "SSI Disability", "Food Stamps", "Medicaid", and "Subsidized Housing"/"Section 8" and also a person that is a Social Worker/"Counselor"/"Human Behavior Modification"/etc. and has "Volunteered"/"Worked" in places such as "Planned Parenthood"/"Women's Health Clinic"/"Abused Women & Children Service"/"Drug & Alcohol" Programs/"Homeless & Homelessness Prevention" Programs/"HIV/AIDS" Programs/"Mental Health" & "SUICIDE Prevention" Programs/"Soup" Kitchens -"Food Pantry" Programs to just mention a few . . .

All I am going to say is this . . . YES - While there are many different examples of abuses by people within the "Public Assistance Programs" (both in the USA and Canada) there are just as many more people within and out side the system today that need the "PUBLIC ASSISTANCE" and "Welfare" just to survive and/or try to make a go at this thing "We" Call "Life" . . .

SO - IMO - I think it is mighty unfair and unjust to both marginalize and disenfrancize so many people by make so many wide sweeping generalization about what other's are going through and have to do to just make it "work" for them, especially in this day and age given "Our" Supposed Moral Compass, "Judeo-Christian Values", and "What Is The Right Thing To Do" . . .

Just as one example: The single mother who maybe does have a child or more and cannot either remember or know who the father is because she was RAPED (and it was by a Family Member/Relative/Family "Friend") who is barely making ends meet, since all she can do is work is a dead-end minimum wage job for $7.25 an hour for a split shift position 20 hours a week (and they will not let her work a full week to avoid having to give her any benifits and she cannot find another job either to make up the difference she needs) . . . And why does this happen, because they made her leave school and doesn't have the education to get a better position or let alone a career, but yet her rent is $700 + a month, basic expenses (not including food or cleaning supplies) are $200 +, and the list goes on . . . AND - Then there is what is required of her to get any assistance from the government for the most part is reprehensible . . . Finally - The Family loses their home because she cannot afford to pay the rent any longer . . . AND - Then with no place to live - she loses her only job, so now She and her 2 children are forced to live on the streets in fear everyday of what might or might not happen to them . . .

I could go on - and even tell everyone a lot more real life stories, including "My" Own - but that is NOT GONNA HAPPEN . . . Matter of fact, there are a number of people right here on ECF and this thread specifically "We" all know that have and/or are going through the same type of situations currently . . . So - I think everyone understands what I am saying . . . Let Us Not Speak about the ill's of other's and what they have to do to survive - Unless "YOU" Yourself Have Walked in - THEIR SHOES ! ! !

AND - If "You" are not in the same situation as they are - Just Be Very Thankful "You're" NOT . . . AND - Don't have to walk a mile in their shoes - TODAY ! ! ! More Importantly - Remember There Is Tomorrow . . . "You" Just Never Know What Life's Mysteries May Happen to "YOU" . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

Okay - RANT over . . . "My" Apologies for sticking "My" head in and disrupting the conversation . . . I'll Go Back To "Lurking" Now . . . ;)

Appreciated as always Uncle. You have a good way of saying it.

I don't think I'll ever consider Medicare or Social Security as "entittlements" since those are paid through taxes. Oh yea, unemployment is too. I'd like to know why it's ok to hire accountants and lawyers to "scam the system" out of paying taxes, but not ok for someone who needs food to figure out a way to maximize their benefits. The only difference is that they don't have the benefit of lawyers and accountants to make it "legal". One bored meeting a month doesn't deserve a 7 figure salary plus benefits anymore than cashing dividend checks is "hard work" as a living. Ayan Rand never considered the type of greed being seen today.

I have a thought. Since the illness is recycling, why don't the three of you get checked for strep throat. If one has it, it will keep cycling through until the carrier, who may have no symptoms, is treated with antibiotics to kill the strep. All three of you may need a dose of antibiotics at the same time. It sounds like that may be happening to you all. I hope everyone starts feeling better soon, what a shame to be not feeling well on and off for so long.

I have no encouraging quotes to offer. From yesterday until right now we are all sick. So I think a strong woman is the one who can clean up after and take care of 2 sick kids, while being sick herself. Surely the reward will follow. . .

My co-worker has begun calling me a carrier pigeon, since we are always sick! I'm beginning to wonder if it's true. 12 stomach viruses in the last 3 months. Or maybe the same one virus recycled through the 3 of us over and over again. . .anyway, sorry wasn't around more lately and hope to see more of you guys during tonight's girl group dance!

Uncle, thank you for your post and the link regarding the New Members Forum. It does explain it to me more clearly. I was misinterpreting the second half of Roly's post. My mistake.

Regarding the remainder of your post. I understand all too well. Most 'assistance programs' require the recipient to fit inside a narrowly defined 'box.' A list of specific circumstances or items that must be met. Miss one and you are not eligible. Does not matter how morally viable your plight is.

I have been there and walked in a pair of shoes like that. I spent three weeks in a battered woman's shelter - living there, not working there. I carry the life long scar of a knife wound received from a boyfriend that gave that wound to me 'so every time I looked at it I would remember him.' And he was successful, I do remember him, with horror and nightmares, 22 years later. Then I lived for a year in a room at the YWCA trying to put my life back together. I sent my only child at 10 years old 3000 miles away to live live with his grandmother so he would be safe. Six months ago I was going to apply for a job at the Battered Woman's Hotline in Nashville. I wanted to do it, to help other women. I could not. Just contemplating doing that, I would take every situation home with me. My DH worried that one of the women's boyfriends would shoot or stab me in the parking lot one night. That is a definite possibility. We had incidents at the shelter I was in, this women are brainwashed, usually, and afraid, so they sometimes let their abusers know where they are. Or the men follow them. My old boyfriend stalked me for over a year, he was still trying to get ahold of me for another year after that, from jail. Oh, I do understand. I am a heart attack away from being destitute, no health ins and retirement funds long gone. Dear husband and I are not married. He has cerebral palsy but is fortunate enough to own his own home. But we could not jeopardize his security by him losing everything if I decide to have that heart attack and it does not kill me right away. So I am living on his largess. If he had a hissy fit and threw me out tomorrow, I would be in a shelter or on the street. And there is no program for me. So I do know.

Just letting you know there are all kinds of shoes that fit. Checking all the boxes for various programs, not so much. I am terrified all the time to fall through one of the cracks again.

Thank you Karen. That was a couple of chapters that I do not like revisiting, it stays with me for days. There are more chapters though, happily many of them good and interesting in a fun way. Life is not all pink and pretty and wrapped up in a big shiny bow. At least for many.
