Hey everyone! Judging from the energy level around here they are all better now. Speaks volumes for the BRAT diet and Gatorade. I'm just hanging on, no caffeine today and a really bad headache. Tummies are all still grumbly but so far no more explosives. I have bleach and Lysol and am prepared to battle!

Jazz, you're right, DD2 is in kindy and it seems like the only illness she ever brings home is gastric. I did catch one cold since school started, but it only lasted a week and didn't lead to a trip to the doctor for bronchitis meds. Whoopee!! If I remember correctly DD1 hardly ever missed a day due to illness, but she was the queen of strep-related illnesses. Once she had scarlet fever! Her doctor didn't even step into the exam room for that visit.

Environmentally, we have well water but it's always tested perfect. I'm kinda scared to check now. Also we have pets that may be bringing in more dirt and germs from outside. I've even bleached my sink, thrown out the sponge, and rinsed all the dishes in bleach-water. New toothbrushes all around, and we all have our own cup and silverware to prevent cross-contamination. How antibacterial soap has changed our lives, I swear it's reducing our immunity! Try finding hand soap that's NOT anti-bacterial, I've taken to leaving a bar of Dove on each sink.

This too shall pass! I hope you are all well and resting up from an exciting Saturday. I'm getting prepared for a week off, I shall need mental health services at the end of it. Way too much togetherness with my girls. . .

Well, glad you are all on the mend, I hope you figure out the cause. Enjoy your evening!
Togetherness, can be nice, Send them on treasure hunts for alone time, give them silly gifts you already have in the house for the prize and relax! :)

I was trying to think of something appropriate to say but the truth is Karen said it perfectly, so I say what she said.

Thank you too, Claudia. The tragic thing is, is that I really do want to work with battered women. I agonized over it for a couple of weeks. I can not do it. I started having nightmares again and jumping when DH made a sudden gesture and still can not watch some movies or TV shows. I am healed, but then I am not. So strange after all these years. Then I wonder how all the other women do it and how selfish it is of me to not just jump in there and do what I can. To help I think I would have to sacrifice myself to a point where I would not be functional. I thought I was stronger than that. So strange.

Speaking of treasure hunts, I've been looking for good girl group videos to post here! A trip down memory lane is fun! Unfortunately all the girl groups I know currently are from Korea, I will spare you.

DON'T! One of the problems with girl groups is that they aren't considered commercial. The only way they are heard is by word of mouth. In fact it's that way with ALL good music anymore. Nobody listens to the radio anymore.

You're right Aik! I think it's a bit different in Korea, they have "idols" and I feel like the girls are exploited for their looks more than their talents. Actually so are the guys. They have these strict management companies and have to live these personas, they don't date, they're always "on" and are expected to be perfect. There are lots of scandals, mostly engineered by those management companies I'm sure, mainly involving dating or trading insults. Very different from our culture. Let me see what I can come up with.

Okay one more:

I see what you mean. I don't see it all that much different here but maybe not as extreme. I hope your daughter realizes they have apps so that ppl like Paris Hilton can "sing" or anyone else. I'd have a hard time with pop for role models. Does she like 5678's? Half their stuff is japanese.

She loves Jrock but I'm not sure of the group names, that's a whole other genre she hasn't introduced me to yet. She really hates the girl groups and the exploitation, she is a huge fan of the male idols and just has a few songs by a few girl groups that she really likes. It's cute music, I love the beat and the dances, the english translations help me a lot. Some of the ballads are truly beautiful, heart wrenching stuff.

Got to hit the hay you guys, I've had a blast tonight! See you in the morning, or I'll be back later for insomnia time if it occurs. Have a great night!!
