If you work over 40 hours in a week you get paid time and a half for it. I'm just glad it's a midnight shift...there's not much to do when everyone is sleeping...just some cleaning and bed checks so it's not bad.

Well at least they do pay time and a half over 40.

I know you are tired so be careful!

It's really cold in here, I just looked at my thermostat, 60 degrees in the house! I am wearing a t shirt, a sweatshirt and a vest like thing that is puffy with filling. socks and slippers, and sweatpants.

Holy cow! How cold is it outside to be that cold inside? I'm wearing a t-shirt, hoodie, pajama pants, socks and slippers and it's 68 in here! You may need to put on your coat and gloves. ;)

Its 48 degrees outside right now and going down fast! If I'd go outside I would need mittens! I have a zip hoodie for later when it gets colder, dogs are happily hiding under the blanket. Don't forget this is a mobile home, they aren't weather proofed well at all

Wellllll... im a registered merchant with intuit, from when I was starting my own company, and can edit whaT categories im listed as. But I may be an odd one. I had a kinda high rate per keyed card (online sales) and a good deal if they swipe the card.

Right now it's listed as selling services, and merchandise electronics related.

Its 66 in my house. Girlfriend doesn't like the temperature above that. Our power bill for december? 300. 70 for electricity and the rest for gas.

I keep my house at 68 all the time and my power bill for December was $135. I'm in Michigan and you're in Illinois, so our weather is comparable, though we get lake effects big time. My temp finally got up to 10 today from a low of -6.

That's actually a very good rate for power bill, and that includes warming the place? I used to keep my home at 68 degrees in NY and it was on electric, that was in 1989 and over $300 it was a large house but back a long time.

You have got to be kidding??? These people are horrible!!! Better be paying you double time. Aren't there laws about how many hours you can work in your state?

Yes, that is my gas and electric combined. My condo isn't very big and it's brick, so that helps. I live in an end unit that's only connected to another on one side, so it gets colder than the inner units. We have a basement and an upstairs, but they don't get much heat. Even the upstairs is cold.

This shift will make 52 hours for me this week. From what I understand only unionized workers have a limit on how many hours they can work in 24 hours. We can be forced to work 24 hours straight if need be. That hasn't happened to me, but a couple of girls here have worked triple shifts voluntarily. Not me!

You snow bunnies definitely have my sympathies. Here in SC it's common to walk around on Christmas day wearing capri pants and a t-shirt. Today at 2 when I went to the store it was 34 degrees according to the car thermometer. Brrr. I want my long johns and wool socks now!

Wow, what a lazy week. From the state of this house you would think we'd been robbed. I'm just not too concerned about it, "the maid" comes to my house on Saturdays (aka that's when I get up the gumption to do something productive) so I'll worry about it tomorrow.

Everyone have a good evening, I'll try to pop in later.

Well its a balmy 57 degrees here. We have had nice weather for the past couple weeks. Chilly at night, but nothing compared to what some of you have to endure. I'm so spoiled living in SoCal. I can't imagine living anywhere else. Well Hawaii maybe.

I just checked we are to be at 70 degrees tomorrow, thank God, my bones couldn't take another day like this. I know I am a wimp, I admit it.
