Hey Jessermay. How are you? Congratulations on the paperwork from ex. Kudos to your son for him letting his dad know how important this is to him. It needed to be done by son. Glad he stood up for himself. How exciting for you all.

DH has calmed down. Still waiting on estimate from ins and contractor. What is actually going to be done; repair/replace island and hardwood, is still up in the air. No shopping yet. DH puts on his ugly face when I ask any questions about anything. But more liveable in general. DH told all to not come to house today. HE needed a break. lol

Still no cake in this house.

Thank You!

Yay for sheetrock! Glad to hear the mold is gone. I read up a little on all you horror going on, how are you holding up? Are things any better with DH?

and.. i think im off to put the baby gate up in the bedroom and crash for a few hours. child is currently sleeping (has been really sleepy last few days, making me wonder if he is getting sick or not. i hope not. quite a few kids around here are being holspitalized for RSV. one of the kids has medical issues similar to my sons so i worry for that family, the other one had the youngest (3) in the hospital and he doesnt want to stay in his bed, he wants to walk the halls and explore but gets so tired he falls asleep walking to the end of the hallway.. its cute but worrisom he gets so tired so fast). im keeping a close eye on child. need to leave phone in front room so i dont read my book rather than sleep that i need. and so child doesnt change my ringtone on me again. he changed my ringtone to zebras barking (zebras bark like a yappy dog..), i dont have that sound on my phone anywhere, so im afraid of where my 3 year old son found the sound file to use, and how he set it as my ringtone. and he uninstalled my favorite games, and downloaded about 40 curious george books/videos filling up my memory cards. grr. im starting to think i need to build his own computer sooner than i originally thought.. and my formatting isnt working, not sure why.

I'm glad to hear things are a little calmer and more liveable for you. I am doing pretty good, adjusting to a new boss at work, busy busy with the kiddos, you know, the usual. :)

Don't worry, no cake in my house right now either ;)

Wow, that is one smart cookie you have there!!

Oh, for the ladies, what is this cake you speak of? I vaguely recall something cake-like in my distant past, but it's all a blur now. . .

and.. i may not get to sleep. mail came. paper and cable internet bill. on the bill, in TINY print.. it says" if you are a internet customer, by paying this invoice you accept and agree to the new broadband service agreement".. trying to sneak it in without my consent eh? i was the one that wanted a copy of the agreement before i signed anything to look over and read and reserved the right to make changes that i deemed were unfair or unjust. im the customer who worked his way through your executives to get his own copy of an agreement made, i have a guranteed minimum speed from my negotiation.. if im paying for 10 mbits, i darn well better be getting atleast 7, in school. 70% meant you passed the class. anything lower than 70% and you failed. you are being held to the same standard. you fail, i refuse to pay for the service that was not up to standard. its not MY fault that you oversold your capacity and do not maintain your lines as you should, that you have my location in illinois but have my connection coming from 150 miles away in another state, and if that state has issues i loose connection.

the broadband service agreement says this
Customer understands and agrees that NewWave Communications does not guarantee that any particular amount of bandwidth on the NewWave network or that any speed or throughput of customer’s connection to the NewWave network will be available to the customer. Customer understands and agrees thatthe speed of the Service provided at Customer’s site will vary depending upon a number of factors, including Customer’s computer system(s) and associated equipment. Internet traffic, and other factors such as system capacity limitations, governmental actions, events beyond NewWave’s control, and system failures, modifications, upgrades, and repairs.

whelp, looks like im disputing this bill. and i found out that from their terms of sevice, i cannot legally use a youtube account that makes money from ads. i cannot work from home (or if i do i need to pay 3x for a "business line"), i cannot use peer to peer software at all unless they explicitly authorize it (several games use peer to peer to eliminate the need for a central server for the games.. like Xbox games, most are peer to peer for the multiplayer) i cannot run my own game server (either locally in my own house, or acessable from the internet), i cannot use FTP (file transfer mostly used for servers). and any downtime that exceeds 24 hours they will credit me per hour i have no service. BUT if the interruption is from (long list of things here that includes pretty much anything imaginable) fire, acts of god, legal issues, goverment request, accidents, ect. they do not have to offer a credit. credits are NOT automatically applied, a customer must call withing 30 days of the 24 hour loss of service to request the credit, a supervisor then reviews the request and may grant if they decide i qualify.

and now im really heading to bed.

EDIT: terms also state that, at thier own disgression, anything posted online in message forums, chats, or any way to communicate with others they reserve the right to edit, delete, or moderate. and they reserve the right to remove any negative feedback about themselves posted online. check the facebook page of them.. hardly any negative feedback, what is there hasnt been hidden/deleted yet. they claim they do not hide anything but i have a few hundred comments hidden or deleted on the page.

Good evening, all! I've just gotten off work a little while ago, and I'm now caught up on the thread.

Marla, it's really tough being stuck in the sandwich situation that you're in--taking care of mom and son at the same time. Try to stay strong, and don't forget to take care of you, too.

Shari, I'm glad the repairs have started at your house. It might be best to stay out of the way, and let the menfolk do all the work. Hopefully you and Kitty are able to make the best of things.

Karen, I'm really glad you're starting to get better. Take good care of yourself, OK?

As for me, I'm trying hard to behave myself. I'm still smoking, but I haven't gone back to strong cigarettes--sticking with the ultra-lights, and breathing better without the need of medication. I've lost 23 lbs. since the 1st of December (got a jump-start on my New Year's resolutions) by getting back on a traditional low-carb diabetic regimen. I'm behaving myself so far, but I have terrible cravings for pancakes (can't find a good low-carb recipe for those yet), and Irish cream. No, not the flavoured creamer one can buy, but the good old-fashioned alcoholic Bailey's. I can't seem to find any information on alcohol and low-carb diet (or diabetes), so I'm not sure if it's healthy to indulge. I'll have to keep looking for info, I guess.

Sorry for my novel. Have a good evening, everyone :)

I'm here. I've been busy sleeping when I'm not at work, and playing my FB games. Tonight I had to take the Boy to two different counseling sessions. I should be doing laundry or cleaning something right now, but it will be there when I get to it, later or tomorrow or never. I keep getting my juices mixed up and putting the wrong flavor in the tank when I go to top it off. I've done this two or three times in the last week or so. The combination isn't bad but it isn't good either. I make myself vape it to punish myself for being so stupid.

YOu are not stupid! I accidently mix my juices all the time, most of the time it doesn't work well, but every now and then, I have a gem. I hope the counseling is going well. Every now and then take some time to do what you like, that is excellent therapy for you.

Glad you are doing well on the diet, I will be happy to start one if I get the case settled in my flavor. right now on the amount they give it isn't possible to eat that healthy. I am too dependant on carbs right now to maintain my weight or cut my sugar. It still amazes me how expensive chicken has become. I had chicken strips(plain no coating) I made in white wine and a tiny bit of butter with garlic and lemon. One shake of Parmesan cheese. Canned spinach drained, with garlic and olive oil. I love this meal and can eat it often, I can't afford it. Tomorrow, it will be pasta or rice with a veggie. I started eating egg for breakfast, I will have one everyday, cholesterol is not as big a problem for me as sugar. Otherwise, I would have a bowl of cereal and fruit.

Delores, I am pretty sure that the Bailey's Irish Cream is very bad for Diabetes. It has a ton of sugar in it. I'm not much of a drinker, but I used to like Bailey's in my coffee when I went out.

I probably shouldn't laugh ... but I was cracking up reading this! Not only is your son smart, but he's entertaining.
