Please provide your best tip for the beginner :

Mine would be this . e-liquid. What you think you will love, you won't.

So...in the beginning..I suggest you try several sample juices from different vendors...until you find a few that you love. There are plenty of people/suppliers here that provide small 3ml sample sizes of their juice for you to try out..before purchasing large amounts of juice.

Also..start out with 24 to 36 mg of Nic...this will cut down on the cravings. You can always slim that down in a few months to a lower nic.

Hope this helps someone.

Don't expect to quit smoking analogs the moment you receive your PV. Go at your own pace. If you stop the analogs the moment your PV is in your hand, that is Wonderful but if you have an analog or several while you are adjusting, that is great as well! Just think about how many you didn't smoke! It is not a failure, it is a journey! :D

Good advice so far. I would say if you can afford it buy a backup pv just in case something goes wrong with your main pv. Also a couple extra attys and batteries. In the long run it's cheaper than analogs, especially if you have quit analogs and don't want to go back to them, this is good insurance IMHO.
Oh, make sure you have plenty of juice, you don't want to run out.

actually, I think I would advise the opposite.....I enjoyed vaping so much that I did more of it than the smoking I had previously done.....I think I actually increased my addiction to nicotine the first couple of weeks because I was getting more than I was used to.....I say start out low, you can always vape more if you crave it....

Yep..have to agree. It is up to you ultimately and what your cravings are. I started out at a higher nic just because it did cut my cravings, but we all are different and whatever works for you is the best.

Another Tip : If you're just looking to purchase a ecig and have no idea what to purchase. You may want to think about the disposable e-cigs that you can purchase for about 9.99 each. There are great reviews on them and some say they last for months. This will give you an idea of how it works and give you time to figure out exactly what you do want to try.

Note: All these tips are personal to each and every one of us...What works for me may not work for you. It's a learning experience for each and every one of us.

Pickup some PG/VG with your initial order in case the juice is too strong you can adjust it down. Pickup a USB passthrough so you can avoid battery cycling when home and in some cases at work.

Research, Research, Research. The search bar on this forum will bring up countless threads on just about anything you have questions about. If not create a thread and ask.

Write down what you want from your PV before you buy. Size, battery life, cartridge size, colors, or any other criteria that is important to you specifically. More research.

read my blog! seriously tho, a lot of my posts are about helping newbies. but everyone's said most of the things i would recommend.

be patient about testing and trying new flavors and nic levels
don't stress about 'quitting smoking', just get excited about learning about vaping
have fun.
don't be afraid to try another type of PV if the one you start with isn't working great for you.

My tips:
read the The ECF Library - E-Cigarette Forum cover to cover.
Ask ask ask questions
Buy liquid from more than ONE vendor in different levels of nic strength so you can find 'your' level/comfort zone.
Don't be 'so sure' you want tobacco flavors until you try other things
Don't be 'so sure' you want something 'that looks like a real cigarette' (you don't, the minis are really too small to be satisfying)
Understand from the get-go that NOTHINg 'tastes like a cigarette' unless its a cigarette. Pvs aren't set alight in order to vape; the taste is not the same (I think its better personally)
Understand there is a learning curve.
Don't buy too high a nic strength. If a PV alone isn't cutting your craving get some snus or other type of smokeless tobacco. Please don't poison yourself on nicotine trying to get your 'hit'.

That's it for now I think :D

Yep...definitely read the info on here. Its a gold mine for new users.

Also, wait 48 hours before buying a new PV after you decide to get it. Read all reviews you can, and post what you are looking for on here. Of all the PV's I bought I really only use 2 regularly, could have saved mucho $$$ by not being impulsive about them.

1. Read, Read, and read some more.
2. Stick with your first unit for awhile, none of them are perfect.
3. Keep a journal, just notes on a small calendar.
-What you bought, from whom, when..
-What juice, flavor, strength, PG, VG, PEG...
-Likes, dislikes, effects you notice.
-ML/mg per day.
-Analogs per day.

For new 510 users, try not to fiddle around with or clean the atty too much. A healthy atty depends on the cart being able to wick well, and the viscosity of the juice, and in general not the atty itself. Cleaning, picking, taking tweezers to the insides, removing the bridge-wick fibers, etc, will just force you to buy more. A clogged atty is often from juice that is too thick or too dark (tobacco juices are high in particles), and if you force-vape on top of clogged draws you can permanently distort the insides, and cleaning it will never fix it.

Consider one of the popular cart mods to improve wicking over the stock fluval filler. It is notorious for not wicking well, and giving that nasty starved-atty taste. I use the ZFM mod, but even a vent straw method with fluval filler is better. VG-only juices often need a 10-20% thinner to help the juice wick, like distilled water or alcohol.

A long-living atty depends on a optimally operating cart, and those generally do not come with the initial starter kit. Keep the cart/juice combo right, and the atty will in general live a long time.

ditch the auto switch!

I don't know how my husband and I quit with those things...they don't want to go off if you have an atty with too many air holes...and they kick of too early causing you to have to do a triplet of quick drags...get the button! That and buttons won't get filled with liquid and fail as fast as say an open switch will!

One bit of advice for all newbies and even maybe going to be a newbie:
Read The Wonderful World of Vaping: An Illustrated Guide to E-cigs all 6 parts!
They can start with part one. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ping-illustrated-guide-e-cigs-part-1-6-a.html

It will take some time, go slow, digest it. It is so worth it.

Best advice out there!!!! Reading Wonderful World of Vaping will answer dozens of questions you will have.

Buy extra liquid in a range of strengths and flavors. Get at least one spare atty. Plan on placing another order shortly after you receive your first kit for back up supplies!

:)
