What went through your head as you took your first vape? what was your initial reaction.

All I can remember about my first vape 5 years ago was coughing cause I hit a friends and he had one of those EGO VV pens and he had it up too high lol.

Very first vape try was a cig a like and my thought was, this is b/s and no way can someone quite with this...second thought was that if this is a cheap one, then maybe a better one could be stronger. Thank god it sparked my curiousity

Bought a little cig a like from the store and we tried it. Didn't cough or anything and immediately knew we could do this... Bought our starter kits from Smokeless Image and away we went... Didn't start the coughing phase till three years later (last year) when I got my first sub ohm DL kit... whew! Fun Times! :pervy::lol:

Mine was a Blu set-up my oldest son tried and was not successful with. Since I was quitting smokeless, not smoking, I chain smoked them for nic and used organic dip for the lip feel. Actually worked, I was able to quit the smokeless. But like vapdivrr, I was curios what could be better. Found VaporBeast, bought some stuff (I still miss their Apple Tobacco juice) and haven't stopped vaping or started tobacco since.

Wow, I actually got it to work. What do I do now?

I actually kept mine in my smoking area in the garage for weeks until I realized that I can walk around with it and vape all day.

Then it took me even longer not to throw it out the car window. Then, even longer to realize that I can actually close the darn window in the rain and cold.

Then, I gots to freak people out by taking a vape and putting it in my pocket.

That was a good 10 years ago at least, and for me it was one of those "originals" tiny e-cigarettes kits, and it was "hey cool, fake smoke"..

My wife that was the smoker: she turned to me and said "THIS IS GOING TO WORK!!" (after trying everything possible to quit)... and it did.

Blu the summer of 09. Initially liked the flavors, just couldn't stand the cough!
Ego with a 1.8ohm clearomizer September 2012. Smooth.. Think I could get use to this!.. Still there although the Ego's and itty bitty clearo's are long gone!

    1) *cough cough cough* This can't be right
    2) This e-liquid tastes like garbage
    3) Okay, I'm getting the hang of this
    4) (2 weeks later) this isn't cutting it so I switched to a more advance setup.

My first e-cig was a really expensive little cig-alike I got at the mall kiosk for almost $300.00!! BUT.....the second I took a puff...my first puff...I absolutely KNEW I could quit smoking with it.

It was pretty awful, and the only juice it came with was either tobacco or menthol. Those were the choices. Keep in mind this was LONG before there were brick and mortar vape shops anywhere. I went home and got online. I was looking for a Blu kit because I had seen TV ads, but (thank God!) I found this forum first and started reading. I ended up ordering a little 510 kit. That was seven years ago this month. I moved from the little 510 kit to an eGo kit when they first came out, and then discovered the REO (bottom-feeder box mod) in the fall of 2010. Haven't changed mods since. I now have a whole collection of REOs, and I still love them. I smoked a few cigarettes the first few days after I started vaping, but that's it. (I had smoked for over 40 years and loved smoking...I just hated being a smoker in today's world because it was so stigmatized.)

I took to vaping in a big way almost immediately, and I'm still a huge fan and advocate. I have no intentions of quitting. I enjoy vaping in a way that I never enjoyed smoking.

My first vape was CE4 clearo, 24nic and 555 juice. I didn't cough but after a few vapes I didn't need a smoke. Hmmm.... this could work but the real test was the first morning without a smoke with my coffee and man-oh-man was I skeptical of this vape pen doin the job. I got through the first morning and never looked back.

Well, although I had a vape before off poorly made disposable ciggy stick back in 2002, the one that really made a difference was a basic EGO pen in 2014. After going 7 days cold turkey trying to quite, I thought, hot damn, this could work. It felt good.

The rest is history, 3 years to be exact. :?)

In 2012 a young colleague introduced me to vaping and to NETs (Naturally Extracted Tobacco) using an ego battery and some old style CE4 atty. He had some of the "original" Backwoods Brew RY4 loaded and I was blown away by the taste/flavor, amazed at how satisfying and enjoyable it was. Throughout the next week I kept thinking about how good that vape was and found myself longing for more. I finally decided to order some gear/juice, I wasn't looking to quit smoking, just wanted to have it handy for the evenings/weekends. Once I got started I never smoked again, vaping NET satisfied my need/desire for tobacco flavor and still does to this day.
