If you are a long term smoker, then realize this will be a life changing experience. Your whole life revolved around cigarettes, which will be replaced by a new hobby. Your tastes will change. How you spend your money will change. Your health will change. You will even be driving your car with the windows up. There will be many set backs...many frustrations...and many victories. Learn from the set backs and the victories. Embrace the change and try to enjoy the journey.

Research until you're comfortable with your initial knowledge base. Then buy a setup and learn it well before you move on to the next thing. Almost anything can be made to work at least adequately, but if you give up on it before you figure it out, you've missed that opportunity to learn that lesson.

And if you figure out it was simply not the right device for you and why, that is also a very valuable lesson learned.

Vape more often than you smoke since you vape less time than smoking a full cig. I was jonesing for a cig hard that first night until I figured that out.

When smoking you spend 5-10 mins just puffing away whereas vaping is usually a hit or two and done. I was attempting to go the same amount of time between vapes as I did between cigs and it wasn't doing the trick.

The disposables, ie: 21st Century, BLU, etc... didn't work for anybody I know. Maybe they help some people.

When/if you graduate to second tier (Evod, ego), err on the low side of quantity. My local shop charges $8 for 10ML juice. Sample the local juice, and then support them by buying something.

If you think you like a flavor/strength/ratio, buy only 5-10ML at first and test it out first.

Err on the high side of nicotine/flavor. It's very easy to dilute the juice, but harder to make it stronger (due to wholesalers and quantities). You can always dilute the juice with glycerin from Walmart or CVS. Dilute the pure glycerin with 10% distilled water first.

Then buy online and save.

I bought 250ML online at 80/20 PG/VP at 36mg nicotine then diluted to 40/60 PG/VG 18mg by mixing with equal parts juice and pre-diluted (aqueous) glycerin. 500ML cost me $50 total including delivery. That will last six months to a year.

I think best advice I can give a new guy/gal to vaping would be to have a backup. When I started I ordered one battery and one tank. When it died I had to wait until it charged and ended up going back to analogs. When I got a second battery and tank that completely got me off of the analogs. It may be a hassle for the wallet to order two batteries and tanks but in the long run it will save you from reverting back to your old ways which we all know aren't nearly as fun or as pleasurable as vaping.

Keep calm and vape on!

Backups, Backups, Backups!

3 Ego's & 3 tanks... 1 on charger, 1 in your hand, 1 ready to go next!

I also send them to a great shop in town (I carry business cards with me) that sells great juice and can take time with them to explain things to beginners.

I tell newbies, tell them I sent you, you might even get a discount! I've sent lots of people!
