Morning, everyone!

Yeah, ECF apparently is/was doing site updating and/or maintenance. Looks like everyone's cookies were flushed.
(that doesn't sound right, does it?)

I found a very dangerous website, if one likes silly shows like "Celebrity Ghost Stories" - and I do. :p The Biography Channel will gleefully play out whole seasons, or even multiple seasons of TV episodes back to back, in a playlist you have to choose to interrupt to stop.

A comfy chair, full tank of juice, and a six-pack in reach leads to it suddenly being 3:00AM. :) :) :)

Is ECF trying to see if we all can remember our PW's? I now have had to log in 4 times in the last 24 hours, the most times in all the time i have even HAD an ECF account.

Trying to ruin our Slackerism

Ok, a couple of early thoughts on the Nextel. First, setting up the Nextel is very easy following the tips provided by Vapor2112. Thanks a bunch for the tips. :). I set most of the PVs up with the mesh inside the Nextel which is really pretty easy. However, the "tinkerer" in me just had to try setting some up without the mesh. That too is pretty easy even without something like a needle to help stiffen the Nextel for the coil. I set some up with 32 ga and some up with 30 ga. Both seem to work equally well so far. Time will tell if I begin burning any of my juice. I do find the 30 ga easier for me to work with (old hands and eyes and less springy).

Next, the vapor production is great. However, I'm sure ymmv depending on the juice type, and pv/vg percentages. At the moment I'm only using my own (not very tasty) blueberry, peach and raspberry at 50/50 pg/vg. My DIY has alway, unfortunately been a very subtle, muted flavor. The Nextel seems similar so far. However, I did note that I don't get any metallic or odd flavors which I sometimes did with the mesh. The mesh was boiled (thanks Chris) but I did not bother torching it. In addition, I don't have a clue which mesh I used, 325, 400 or 500 but it most likely doesn't make any difference anyway (thanks Annie). My odd flavors (breakin period for mesh) was most likely due to not boiling the mesh before Chris's tip. Now I boil all mesh.

I did set up two drippers with the smaller Nextel. Also very easy to work with and even my DIY has a bit better flavor.

My very early assessment. Thumbs up for ease of setup, vapor and "clean" taste. Oh, I should note that I removed the tank on each setup.

I did read in some others threads here on ECF that the Nextel comes from the bulk suppliers needing to be heating to a very high temperature to remove some manufacturing coatings that are certainly not healthy to vape. However, one indication that the Nextel has been heated properly is the color. I guess Nextel comes from the bulk suppliers looking a little grey. Properly heating to the correct temperature burns off the bad stuff leaving the Nextel nice and white. Mine came from Big Tex with a very clean, white color and the website says they heat it in their own kilns. In addition, the fiber size of the Nextel ceramic is larger (7 micron, I think) compared to the Nextel silica (4 microns, I think).

I do think that I may need to lower my nic level once again (currently at 12mg) as my appetite is just not there and I stayed up way past my normal bedtime. Who knew, less appetite and more energy for a fat old guy seems like a good side effect. :)

Perhaps an update on my thoughts next weekend after using the Nextel exclusively for the next week.

I'm excited to try this stuff out. Mine will be here tomorrow.
