So my husband and I bought two zenith II tanks and inokin 1.6 ohm heads. My husband has not been impressed with the lack of flavor that it produces. Mine has been ok but I’m wondering if I need to clean the coil often? I usually use a nautilus tank and coil that I would clean each time I added liquid. Any help is appreciated as we bought 13 packs of these coils

Z-coils range from 0.3 to 1.6 ohm. Did you really buy 13 packs? You can easily unload those in our Classified Forum. 1.6 is for old school tootle puffers. I used to use a Nautilus tank, but the Zenith II has taken the crown. You don't really need to clean your coils, just throw them away.

Most people don't clean drop-in coils, although there are some who swear by it. Even so, I think it's more common to clean a coil just when you're changing flavours or it gets too gunked up. How are you cleaning them?

Also, which Nautilus coils were you using? I'd be surprised if you (and your husband) got less flavour from a similar resistance Zenith coil, but it might make sense if you had switched from the 0.7 ohm Nautilus coil to a 1.6 ohm Zenith one.

Have you and your husband tried adjusting your wattage? Even when coils have similar resistances, different models have variations that usually mean the sweet spot for them is not the same.

I Don't have a lot of Coil-Head experience. Being that I have been using RTA's (and RDA's) since about the Subtank Mini days. But I recently came to acquire a Zenith II that came with a 0.8 Ohm coil.

I'm not going to say that it is as Good as my RTA's. But is a Close 2nd. And have been Very Surprised as to How Well it Hits/Tastes. You might try picking up a 5 Pack and giving them a go.

I've heard that cleaning them isn't going to add much to the coil life w/out giving you a reduced performance. If you're okay with that, then by all means. I also bought 10 packs of the 1.6, and am still using the 0.8 that came with the kit. I'm kind of afraid they aren't going to live up to the same expectations, lol.

Not to be the person to ask "well, did ya plug it in?", but have you fiddled with the airflow control ring? Are you using them on a CoolFire Z80 mod?

we were using the nautilus 1.8 ohm

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I think our main problem is lack of flavor.

Then you may want to try a lower ohm coil and increase the wattage. You could even increase the wattage on the coils you have. Just do it little by little. More wattage = more heat, which usually means more flavor.

If one were to use the Zenith II (or any other atomizer), on an Innokin Senses or Coolfire z80 device, the new f/0 technology on those devices should prolong the the life of the Z-coils.

    this is what we use.
The old Aegis 100w 26650 that was just mentioned, ha. I just looked up the specs for this, and it's likely underpowered for a 1.6 ohm coil. There's no mention of a buck boost in the chip. I assume increasing the wattage (if it doesn't cap out) beyond like 10 or 15 watts or so doesn't change the performance at all?

When firing the mod without you vaping on it, does it sound like it's vaporizing juice, or is it pretty quiet or producing a gurgling sound?

I'm reasonably sure the Aegis 100W has buck and boost. This whole BS with mods only having buck and no boost is a relatively new thing in box mods. I think Voopoo started it.

EDIT: I has boost. Goes over 4.2 volts. 9 volts to be exact.

If my math is correct, 4.2V/1.6 ohms = 2.5 amps. They only have access to 10 or 11 watts on a fresh battery. Any wattage setting above that could in theory raise the amps, but since the amps and voltage are converted together (from what I've noticed anyway), the actual limit of the mod is around 10 or 11 regardless of what the wattage states.

As you mentioned, lowering the coil ohm would fix this or using a dual battery mod.
