In my experience and opinion, it's not the Aegis. I've got the original mini model (as well as early version of their larger 26650 model) and they work fine with my Zenith 1.6 coils.

I have been vaping long enough to have some/several mods slowly die. Some just appear to get weaker and weaker and then may work one day and not the next. (Others simply quit, often with no warning). I suggest trying a new battery and if that isn't helping, it may be time for a new mod. The electronics eventually do wear out/break/whatever. This could be what is happening with your nautilus coils not working so well, not just the zenith.

That said, I do love my z80 and the new fo technology as it seems to be a smoother vape and the coils are most certainly lasting longer. It also has a "clean" function which you may like.

I think it was the Kanger or Vision Twist.

I'm talking about modern box mods. All of a sudden voopoo decided it was going to start releasing box mods with no boost so the only way to achieve the stated max wattage was to do so by lowering the resistance on the coil (kinda like when using a mech mod). I believe others are following suit. I have my theory as to why this is, and I can understand it, but I still don't like it.

I'd agree, although most of my RTAs are DL or RDL, so it's really hard to compare them. I will say in regards to juice consumption, this puppy definitely takes the cake on that.

Yeah... I mainly use Squonk RDA's. But I like RTA's for when I'm On-the-Go. Or laying in bed Reading or Watching TV.

I was Pleasantly Surprised how much Flavor I get from those 0.80 Ohm Coil-Heads. I run it Wide Open in the Zenith II will a Less Restrictive Drip Tip. All the Resistance is going thru the Coil-Head.

But from a Drop In Coil, it's not a Bad Vape at all.

Sorry, don't want to sidetrack or hijack this thread, but do you hear pulsing when you fire the mod at 20 Hz in F(0) mode with the 0.8 ohm coil?

Is that in a VV mode?

There likely isn't a VV mode on the original Aegis 100W mod. But the mod, having boost, will output up to 9 volts to achieve whatever you set your wattage to, regardless of coil resistance, like a regulated box mod should (IMHO).

Most of my mods only have wattage setting, but they all output above 4.2 volts to achieve your set wattage.

But I'm pretty sure this has gone off topic though. :D OP is complaining about poor flavor on the 1.6 ohm Z-coil. Claims (I assume) that the 1.8 nautilus coil is better? If so, that's pretty bad. lol

@rachpreach - IMO, something else is likely causing your husband's problem with getting less than acceptable flavor from the 1.6ohm Z-coils. I've always used those exact coils in every version of Zenith tank that Innokin has come out with since 2018. Also, I vape at just a puny 5-6.5W...and always get great flavor from them, even though the recommended wattage for them on the box says 10-14W. Several friends use lower than that wattage, too, and get plenty of flavor.

I Don't Hear any Rattle or Buzz at ANY Hertz in f0 Mode.

But then again, I shot a Shotgun a Lot in my Younger Days. So I'm probably Not the best person to ask.

    Vape Hartwell, GA
Hold Down the UP/Down Buttons at the Same time.

Then Hit the Fire Button to Enter f0 Mode.

The use the Up/Down Buttons to Adjust the Hz.
Cool! It then told me "RECOMMENDED". Instead of hissing, it's now pulsating. So, 20 is the spot?

    Thanks ZoiD.

I would say to use the 1.6ohm coils in the recommended wattage range and not lower and if still cant feel flavour is good i guess trying another resistance will be only option...

I know that 1.6ohm seems like a good choice after the nautilus 1.8ohm but i think it worths to give the 0.8ohm coil a try

Unfortunately they got 13 boxes of the 1.6. So I understand where they're frustration sits, as I currently have 10 boxes as well.

Hi all, I’m her husband. I want to clarify a few things. We both feel the flavor is not on par to the nautilus bvc - not just me. With all the research i have done on the zenith this definitely doesn’t seem to be the norm in comparison. I have tried both the 1.6 and the 0.8 as the zenith came with a 0.8. Both have been terrible. It is like vaping water or something. Just very bland. I have dropped liquid directly in cotton to make sure it is wicking as well. I have adjusted wattage, etc. all the same results.

perhaps it is the liquid? We make our own and have done so for probably 7 years or longer. We do 16mg nicotine so it is not for sub-ohm. But again we have been on the nautilus for years and no problem and even comparing now with the same liquid, much more flavor with the nautilus. Unfortunately the coils from the nautilus are just very poor in longevity.

Honestly I experienced the same. Nautilus 1.8 coil user for many many years, first time trying out a Zenith II tank with 1.6 coil last week, the flavor was really muted from one to the other using the same eliquid I always vape. It did get better for me after a short break in period with the coil and readjusting my watts. I haven't seen anyone else say they had experienced this, quite the opposite, so I figured new equipment and I needed to play around a bit to find a sweet spot.

Perhaps the zenith II has a wider chimney than you are used to. I have a tank that has a wide (very wide) chimney and the flavor is pretty weak and, while I otherwise like the tank, I have shelved it for this reason. This Zenith II just might not be a good fit for your flavor requirements.

If you can get an original zenith or a zlide tank, perhaps you can try one of those to see if they give you better flavor. Otherwise maybe try selling your Zenith II and what coils you have. It should sell rather quickly here on the ECf classifieds.
