Might be a stretch to find depending on where you live but there are a lot of smoothie places around here and they use monster sized straws so they can put real fruit, jelly, or tapioca in the drinks and not have to worry about the straws getting blocked up. They may be too big (have not seen or used the dse601) but by cutting a slice out of the side and rolling it tighter/cut off excess should work fine.

That's not a bad idea...

to give an idea how big the 601 cart is...take your 510 or 901 cart, and imagine the whole thing fitting inside the 601 cart, loosely.

The 601 is just a mm or 2 longer, but you could easily slide the 510/901 inside it. This thing is truly a monster cart.

SB thanks for this cart upgrade, I've got 2ea. 510s and a 4081 cart up and running great vapor, no flooding and a couple of extra drops in each of the carts. I've tried several of the cart mods and this is the most effective so far, working good after three days and a couple of refills per cart.
I used a sili pot holder sourced at dollar tree store and have enough silicone fabric for a couple of hundred carts for a buck. Amazing that we gadget freaks can find fixit materials so cheap to correct the shortcomings in our vaping equipment and the manufacturers can't;anyway, thanks, GREAT mod Regards, bikes

Hello,

I haven't read the entire thread (too big!), but logic suggest me that this should leak... (haven't tried it yet, but I will) if it doesn't... why it doesn't leak? has anyone noticed leaking?

Once the cap is pushed against the bridge it should open getting go all the juice right? I only vape JC juice and they have the thinnest ;)

Sorry if this is more suited to another thread (I couldn't see a 'common materials' type thread).

What silicone are people using that are casting/puddling when making these mods?

There seem to be a very large range of options and I want to make sure I get an appropriate one for a variant of this mod I am considering. Either brand names or generic types are welcome, I'm sure I can work from either to find a UK equivalent.

Thanks,

M.

I'm not certain, but I don't think anyone has gotten a cast to really work too well.
What everyone is using here, for the most part, is the actual silicone cartridge caps.

If anyone has a silicone cast working, please correct me.

801 super glue update:

Well... been using it almost every night changing between two carts and when it works it works great... when it fails (and they both have, and been 'fixed' worked fine one or two fills and same things happen), it is a complete mess... It seems as if the vacuum/glue seal fails and dumps all the liquid floods the pv. I do not know why... any one have any ideas on a better (safe) glue to bond silicone to plastic?

Have you tries silicone tape? Maybe experiment with it and see if you can come up with a mold or if it holds the ZFM in place. They sale silicone tape at cable supply stores. I dont know where else to buy it. Its pretty hefty tape. Thinkin if you fold it over and put a hole in the middle it would work, having it stick to the side of the cart since its tape.

Man, I guess I'm just ......ed. I just got into this vaping thing, and I think maybe I've got a crappy model- the 'Smoking Everywhere' from a mall kiosk. It has a double hole thingy on the filter. Can I do this kind of mod with my cig?

The cart itself in the SE cig is too small...if you take the mouth piece off and stick a straightened paper clip through the hole, you can pop the cart out of the mouth piece...and can see how incredibly small it is.

The suggestion I give to you if you aren't getting what you want out of that device (like I was) purchase a nobox 510 kit or some other inexpensive kit.

I started on the SE Gold and it didn't cut it for me, and it wasn't until after I spent over $100 on that unit that I found this place...I ordered the $65 kit from cignot.com after watching a lot of videos and reading a ton of threads on here.

The 510 is a good fit for me, it may not be for you, depending on what you are looking for.

Yeah, after taking a second look at the SE cart, it is going to be too small for this mod to work.

Darmeen- Thanks alot! I'm actually loving this thing so far, but after getting into this forum, discovered that I could have done a lot better- and also now have 'gadget envy' after spending $200 for 2 kits for my girl and I. Looks like I'm not alone on that one, eh?

Oh well, I'm cigarette-free, and loving it for now.

Hey, if it is working for you, that is all that matters!

Just remember that just because you own a specific model doesn't mean you can't branch out either...

Most people around here have several different models and styles of PV...like I just picked up the 601 E-Pipe (which I really enjoy) that is pretty much all I use when I get home, and I am seriously thinking about buying the JuiceBox.

I would never tell you that your choice was wrong, especially if it is working for you, and just because you paid too much for your first unit (just like I did) just means that you paid for education...it was my attempt to find a better way to use my SE Gold that brought me here, and the wealth of knowledge I have picked up from this forum is totally worth it. It has been a great learning experience, and I have certainly spent more money than that to get far less in return...

so being new to this, if I cut he caps, then I guess I can't carry these cartridges in my PCC since I have no caps anymore. I'm assuming I just fill the thing up with liquid and im not going to be sucking the liquid into my mouth as I inhale?

If you are using a 510 cart then the juice will not go into ur mouth if you fill the cart with juice. The cart has two air vents on the side were you inhale the vapor. The juice has its own compartment built in. If you stick a paper clip in the bottom hole of ur cart, you can remove it and see what i mean. It also helps to clean that part if you use the same cart a lot as condensation can build up in the mouth peice.

right I have a 510, so I can't put it in the PCC then with this mod? I'm guessing it will leak all over the place especially without caps, but even with caps, this mod doesn't seem like it would work for someone thats carrying the 510 around instead of cigarettes, seems like a home only mod? am I wrong?

You should never put a 510 cartridge in a PCC without the cap. That being said.. with a cap installed... this doesn't appear to leak in the PCC (I put them in "cap up").

Hmm... I am not sure what type of silicone tape you are referring to... Can you please post a link? The only silicone type I have used or found by google has no adhesive but creates a chemical or mechanical reaction when stretched and layered or wrapped around an object. My science is fairly weak but I have used it in the electrical trade and if it adheres to anything other then itself I would be very surprised... It seems to work by stretching it over something and itself and as it shrinks it bonds into a single mass.

A tip worth noting:

The smallest straw I had was a 6.2mm diam straw. It was tight fitting and seemed to be too tight. Then I also recalled the note on this mod about slitting the straw to allow more juice if needed. So, I slit the straw HALF WAY down. This way, it can coil as small or large as needed, while allowing extra room for juice at the same time.
