Is Smoant Veer Kit Better Than Uwell Caliburn G?

Hey guys. Have you used the devices by Smoant before? Today I get the Smoant Veer Kit for you, it looks a bit like the Caliburn G but actually different. Here we go!

The fuselage structure is designed with ultra-light material space aluminum, which weighs only 33.5g, which is lighter than a hamburger. With round walls and grooved surfaces. The color range is limited to four concise variations. A round ignition button and a small indicator are placed in the center of the front side. One end is perforated with a circular air inlet. This pod device is built with a long-lasting integrated 750mAh battery, so you can vape for long periods of time without recharging. Easily charge the device via the Type-C charging port located on the bottom of the device. The charging current is 2A. This pod system consists of a board with necessary safety protection and automatic power optimization.

The removable cartridge on the top is small, with a capacity of 2.3ml, filled with juice by opening the rubber plug on the side of the cartridge, maximum avoid e-liquid leakage and reduces the mess. The replaceable coil may be the most significant feature of the new product. However, the Battlestar Baby Coils we are familiar with are used. Veer & Battlestar baby & Charon baby this 3 pod kit can use the same 0.6ohm mesh coil and 1.2ohm ni-80 coil. Suorin Air Pro pod device review by hittman

Hello again. Today I will be talking about the first Suorin device that I’ve ever tried. I was sent three new devices made by Suorin and didn’t realize that through the years I’ve been vaping that I had never tried a device made by them. I really don’t have a reason. I guess I just hadn’t seen one that interested me in the past. Today I’ll just be talking about one of the three which is the Suorin Air Pro. It’s a fairly simplistic device with a couple nice features. I will try to keep it short and to the point.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:

Having never tried a Sourin device before I really had no idea what to expect. To be honest, I hadn’t even heard of the Air Pro before or earlier revisions. The packaging for the kit was nice enough but I immediately noticed that there was only one pod in the kit box. However, Sourin did send me a couple of spares for it which was nice. I do however think that all pod kits should come with either two pods or two coils depending on what kind of device it is. The sample that I received is the ice blue color. It is very nice looking but also very shiny which translates to the fact that it’s a fingerprint magnet. This may bother some people but honestly I’m not really that picky when it comes to stuff like that.

IMG-5362.jpg

IMG-5359.jpg

I was surprised at how thin the Air Pro is. The body is made of zinc alloy. The design reminds me of an Iphone or macbook. It amazes me that they can fit everything into such a thin design. As far as branding goes it has Suorin Air Pro on one side and Suorin and their logo symbol on the other side. On one of the thinner 12.7mm sides is a single button. Five presses will turn the device on or off. The button can also be used to fire the Air Pro if you don’t want to use the auto draw function. To me it’s a little awkward to fire it using the button and definitely prefer the auto draw on this one. When it is turned on there is a haptic alert in the form of a vibration and the single light on the fire button will flash. The Air Pro has a 930mah internal battery which is one of the places where this device shines especially as compact as it is. The indicator light on the button shows green, blue, or red depending on the level of the battery. Of course, when it turns red, it’s time to charge the device. On the thin side opposite of the fire button is the USB micro charge port and there is one small airflow hole on each of the thin sides. On the bottom of the Air Pro are what appear to be charging contacts. I checked on the Suorin website and that is in fact what they are. I didn’t get one for the review but their site says that there is what they call a Pogo charging dock available for the Air Pro. Inside the top of the device where the pod inserts, there are two contacts, two magnets and an airflow tube.

IMG-5345.jpg

IMG-5348.jpg

IMG-5349.jpg

IMG-5350.jpg

IMG-5352.jpg

The pod for the Air Pro has a capacity of 4.9ml which is the second place where I consider this pod device to stand out. Suorin says that each pod is good for 6 uses which comes out to almost 30ml of liquid. I don’t know about others but I tend to use pods as long as possible and probably too long but as long as it’s working and the flavor is half way decent then I keep using them. I have not run through six refills yet but after three so far the flavor is still good and don’t have any leaking. The opening on the mouthpiece is offset and not in the center. I felt that it was fairly comfortable to use but thought if it was on one corner instead of to the side then it might be a little more comfortable to use. The pods use what they are calling a LAVAL nozzle airway design. I don’t know what that stands for but it is supposed to take away more heat by speeding up the airflow. The pods are slightly tinted but I can easily see the liquid level without additional light.

The pod does not have replaceable coils. The coil that is built into the pod is a 1.0 ohm mesh coil and has an output rating of 18 watts. I felt like it delivered very good flavor for a pod device. The pods are bottom fill with the standard rubber plug. I was able to fill fairly easily but commonly use 10 and 50ml plastic bottles so the tips aren’t very big.

IMG-5358.jpg

IMG-5354.jpg

IMG-5356.jpg

FINAL THOUGHTS:

The Suorin Air Pro has a totally different shape than any other pod device I have tried. Like I mentioned before, it amazes me that you can fit a battery, charging port, and electronics in such a thin device.

Overall I thought the Air Pro performed well. The flavor was pretty good and the vapor production was good also. The mouthpiece was comfortable enough for me and the pod capacity was a nice feature as well as the battery capacity.

The Air Pro will easily fit in a pocket without bulging or being really very noticeable. I do think it shines as an auto draw device and found it awkward to button fire. It was nice how it vibrates and has an indicator light.

So, would I recommend it? It might not be for everyone but I liked it well enough. The 4.9ml capacity paired with a 930mah battery is a good fit in my opinion for an out and about carry device. It would be nice if you could shut off the fire button and still auto draw but this one doesn’t do that.

A big thank you goes out to Suorin and Mira for sending the Air Pro for this review. Also a very big thank you to the readers. You did it. You made it to the end again! Below is a link to the Suorin site if you’d like to check it out.

Social acceptance of vaping

I am used to dealing with social rejection of smoking, having smoked for a long time. I changed to vaping in the last six months. Drinking at a friend's place a couple of weeks ago, it was the first time he had seen me do it rather than cigarettes. He smokes and gave me an increasing load of ribbing about vaping as the night and alcohol went on. The thoughts of others don't bother me, but the need to rebuff his taunts throughout the night did start to wear thin.
Watching Mare Of Eastown over the last few weeks, vaping was what Kate Winslet was referring to when she said she was going to have a smoke. I wouldn't want this taken as an endorsement of vaping, but hopefully visibility such as this will ultimately remove the need to respond to both smokers and non-smokers.

GEEKVAPE NANO POD MOD review by hittman

I’m back at it again today with yet another review. Today I’ll be talking about a little beast of a pod mod called the Geekvape Nano. I thought it was going to be called the Aegis Nano but obviously it’s not since it’s not listed that way on their website. I was sent the Nano by Geekvape in order to provide a fair and honest review and to help you decide if it’s a device you might like to add to your collection. When I saw it, I just thought it was a mini Aegis in pod form and didn’t expect a lot. I was pleasantly surprised by it. Before I get too far into it let’s take a look and see what is in the kit and see some pictures.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

Once again I received the reviewer’s sample which comes in a nice box with an orange flap that flips up to expose the contents inside. I received the green camo version. I’ve never really been a fan of different colored camo patterns but this one looks pretty decent.

upload_2021-6-7_19-38-36.png

The Nano battery portion has two magnets and two gold plated contacts inside the top where the pod sits and makes connection. Toward the front top there are two rectangular cut outs that are for attaching the lanyard neck chain. I’m not a fan and will never use a lanyard but you don’t have to because it is optional. Below the cut outs is the display screen. The screen shows a battery indicator, wattage in a good sized font, followed by coil resistance, voltage, and puff counter. For me, everything besides the battery indicator and wattage are too small and very difficult to read. If you are holding the device with the screen facing you then on the right side is the fire button which is the only button on the Nano. On the opposite side of the fire button stamped into the rubber exterior is the word Aegis. On the rear of the unit at the top is a sliding airflow control which I greatly appreciated. Airflow control is an important feature for me. On the bottom of the unit is a rubber flip open cover that exposes the USB-C charging port for the 800mah internal battery.

upload_2021-6-7_19-39-50.png

The Nano is a very simplistic device to operate since there is only one button on it. The only thing the operator can change is the number of times they press the fire button so in fact this is how you operate the Nano. The operation is as follows:

- Press the fire button five times to turn the device on and off

- Press the fire button four times and the puff counter will flash. Press it once more and the puff counter will be reset

- Press the fire button three times and the wattage will flash. Either press the button once at a time or hold down for faster scrolling. Once it hits the top of the range then press again to start at the lowest setting.

- Press the fire button two times to lock the device. The display will say Fire Locked.

The kit comes with two pods. The pods for the Nano do not have replaceable coils so when the pod goes bad then you have to throw out the entire thing. I am very happy to report that the pods are indeed top fill. I can’t tell you how glad I am that they are not bottom or side fill. The pods are in fact clear also but most of the pod is covered by the tip. If you push on one side of the tip then it will come off to expose a black rubber gasket. You have to lift the gasket to fill. I kind of wish that this gasket could have been incorporated into the tip so you could just pop the tip off and fill without the extra step. On the side of the tip there are three marks on each side to let you know where to press to remove the tip and fill. At first I experienced a little difficulty removing the pod from the battery until I realized that if I just press upward on the side of the tip above where the airflow control is then it will pop right out. On the bottom of the pod are the two matching contacts and magnets.

The .6 pod comes preinstalled on the Nano but has a safety seal on the bottom that must be removed before the first use. I liked the .6 pod at 20 watts with the airflow completely open even though the mod defaults to 23 when the pod is installed. The operating range for the .6 pod is 5-30 watts. The device restricts the output from 5-14 watts for the 1.2 pod. The default is 12 watts and I liked that very much once again with the airflow open. The flavor production with both pods was very good in my opinion and the amount of vapor produced was very generous for such a small device.

IMG-5240.jpg

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Once again Geekvape has put out what I consider to be a very good product. I very much enjoyed testing the Nano. I liked both of the pods. The .6 pod was good for me as an RDL and the 1.2 pod I liked as an airy MTL. I feel like because of the mouthpiece that those that like a really tight MTL may not like it so much.

I thought the Nano was very comfortable to hold and liked the positioning of the fire button. It looks quite a bit like the Aegis Solo and is IP67 rated. It is small enough to easily fit in a pocket but vapes like a much bigger device. I felt like I got good battery life with the two different pods and was very happy with the flavor and vapor production.

So would I recommend it? Yes if you would like a small pocket friendly pod device that is water, shock, and dust resistant and gives good flavor and a decent amount of vapor. I would like to thank Monica and Geekvape for sending the Nano for this review. You might be tired of hearing it but thanks goes out to the readers. Below is a link to the Nano if you would like to take a look for yourself.

Ñew member, need some help

Hi. Just an explanation for the name here - a band I like which I started using as a name in forums a long time ago and have continued using just out of habit. I started vaping over six months ago and gave up smoking cold turkey. Very happy. I did this with the Alt disposable pod kit - very easy to use with no buttons or anything. Just have to replace the pods when empty. In the last week I bought an Innokin Zlide tube kit with 1.6 ohm coils as it had some great reviews, and they said it was good for beginners which I still am. Also bought some 75/25 VG/PG juice. Filled it, primed the coils, and did everything according to the instructions. When I use it it makes a bubbling sound and spits large drops of liquid, and I end up with sticky liquid all over the pen. Is anyone able to tell me if I have simply bought the wrong liquid or is there possibly some other possible problem? Very appreciative of any help. Cheers

Bench Test Results: Vapcell Red K15 – 15A 1500mAh 18500…good performer

These tests below only note my personal ESTIMATED ratings for the batteries I tested at the time I tested them. Any battery that is not a genuine Samsung, Sony, Murata, LG, Panasonic, Molicel, or Sanyo can change at any time! This is one of the hazards of using “rewrapped” or batteries from other manufacturers so carefully research any battery you are considering using before purchasing.

Misusing or mishandling lithium-ion batteries can pose a SERIOUS RISK of property damage, personal injury, or even death. They are not supposed to be used outside of a fully protected battery pack and you use them at your own risk. Never exceed the battery’s true continuous current rating and keep the plastic wrap and top insulating ring in perfect condition.

Testing batteries at their limits is dangerous and should never be attempted by anyone who has not thoroughly studied the dangers involved, understands the risks, has the proper equipment, and takes all appropriate safety precautions.

If the battery has only one current rating number, or if it only says "max", then I have to assume the battery is rated at that current level for any type of discharge, including continuous.

Test Results
This cell is a pretty good performer and its 15A rating seems reasonable. I have not tested an 18500 in a long time so I do not have any cells to directly compare against the K15.

The two cells I tested delivered 1593mAh and 1596mAh. This is great consistency and exceeds this cell’s 1500mAh rating.

Two cells were donated for testing by Vapcell (18650 batteries, Vapcell batteries, 18650 Chargers). Thank you!

Ordering eLiquid Online? READ THIS!!

In order to beat the PACT Act/Mail Ban on eLiquid, just recently ordered 3 bottles of HALO via Vaprzon. Think online retailers are trying to avoid major carriers, & instead using regional or smaller shipping companies. In my case Halo / Vaprzon used a company called Blue Streak.

Also think I made a mistake choosing the cheapest delivery: "Signature Shipping - (C02A)". When Blue Streak gets to your place you MUST ANSWER THE DOOR coz they won't just leave the package. Also:
  • ID is required & must match the Shipping Label,
  • the driver takes photos of the ID beside the package/label,
  • finally must sign for the package.
DID SIMILAR HAPPEN TO YOU??

Also wondering if all of the above applies if I picked shipping: "USPS - Standard", &/or "USPS - Expedited"? Both are more expensive.

I bet ordering eLiquid online is gonna be even more of a hassle going forward. In any case, MAKE SURE YOU'RE AT HOME & ANSWER THE DOOR!!

Review: Univapo Kipo

Review of the Univapo Kipo Pod Kit (link)
This kit was provided by a Univapo representative for review.

Days used before review
: 5 days
Juice used: 50VG 6mg freebase nicotine juice, peppermint, clear, moderately sweet.

The Univapo Kipo packs quite a satisfying hit for such a little device. In terms of it's size it's a true stealth device. In terms of vapor, not so stealthy as it does produce a rather large cloud with 50/50 juice. As you vape on it and the battery voltage drops, so will your vapor production. But honestly, it's not that noticeable until you reach the last 3rd of the battery's charge life (indicated by red LED). This is a tiny and well-designed pod system. The flavor is also quite good for a low powered device.

About the Kipo Pods:
The kit comes with both at 1.0 ohm pod and a 1.3 ohm pod. I checked on a meter and they are in fact around those resistances. In terms of tightness of hit, I would classify it as a loose MTL to tight RDL, I vape it using both styles of vaping. The pods have never leaked for me in the 5 days I have used this kit. The Kipo pods do not have replaceable coil heads.

Difference between the 1 & 1.3 ohm pods: there is absolutely no difference to me between the 2 pods in terms of tightness of draw. Where I see the difference between the 1 and 1.3 ohm pods is in warmth of vapor and vapor production. The 1.3 ohm pod does have a little cooler vapor and slightly less vapor production & flavor over the 1.0 ohm pod. IMHO, the 1.0 ohm pod produces a more satisfying and flavorful vape because of this, however I usually vape at 18-25 watts on other devices at 0.5 to 1.2 ohms so naturally I would prefer the a warmer vape than what the 1.3 ohm can supply.

The pod design is very comfortable between my lips, but what I like best about the pod is that it freely turns when it's installed in the battery. The reason this is good is becuase you can blindly grab the pod and put it u to your mouth and if the pod us in the wrong orientation it's very easy to readjust it with your mouth to get it into the position it needs to be.

The fill port for the Kipo pods is on the side. Filling is easy except it can be a little annoying trying to pry up the fill port plug if you have short fingernails.

One thing I REALLY like about the Kipo pods is that they prime very easily. I just fill a new pod and take 2 light primer puffs before I insert the pod into the battery and it's ready to vape with no dry or burnt hits. I attribute this to the rather large juice ports on the coil housing. One thing to note is that when the pod is brand new it does appear to spit back for a few puffs right after you fill a pod. However it goes away after a few puffs. This only happened on the first 3 to 5 fills of the pod but it doesn't seem to do it anymore.

After 5 days of moderately heavy use, the pods seems to be holding up very well. There are o signs of burning or reduced vapor or flavor yet. As usual for all vape devices, your mileage will vary as to how long the pods will last according to the juice you use.

About the Kipo Battery:
The Kipo battery can be fired using a button but also has with a auto-draw sensor so you can vape it without pushing the button, just like smoking. The auto-draw is very responsive and I actually prefer it over using the button. The button is at the bottom of the battery and the device being so small makes it kind of awkward for me to press the button. I guess the smaller your hands are the less awkward it will be (I'd say my hands are medium size). Even the button is highly responsive. Whether you use the button or auto draw, there is no lag time - it fires quickly. The Kipo battery is about the size & shape of a half-smoked cigar and very light. I often hold the Kipo like a cigar when I'm vaping on the it so the auto-draw is definitely nice for that.

The battery has one very small LED light on it hear the bottom. It has 3 colors: Green, Blue and Red. When vaping it, the LED turns on. If it's Green, you are at the top end of the battery charge. Blue means are are in the middle of the battery charge and Red means you're at the bottom and you should probably consider charging the battery at that point.

The Kipo pod system battery is equipped with Type-C USB charging port and is capable of 2 amp charging. I can't really tell you how fast the Kipo charges at 2 amps because I don't have a 2 amp USB power source. But I can tell you that at 1 amp it takes about 1.5 hours to fully charge from when it is completely drained. However I can tell you that what seems to be happening is that it's charging fast up to about 90 or 95%, then it trickle charges the rest of the way. This fast charge to 90 or 95% only takes about 15-20 min on 1 amp. This is good becuase you don't have to charge it the whole way if you don't have the time and you need a vape immediately.

The Kipo pod battery has the usual 5-clicks to turn it off and on, but it also has a standby mode. To get into standby you have to just click the button 3 times. Once in standby, you cannot vape the device. You have to take it out of standby with 3-clicks. You'll know it's in standby becuase if you try to use it the LED light will flash green 3 times. You cannot turn the device off with 5 clicks when the Kipo is in standby mode, you have to first bring it out of standby with 3 clicks, then do the 5 clicks to turn it off. To me, this standby feature serves no purpose when you can just shut it off when you're not using it with 2 more quick clicks.

Recommendation:
I would definitely recommend The Univapo Kipo to light or infrequent vapers and to light or infrequent cigarette smokers to get them to switch from smoking to vaping. I would also recommend it to the cigar smoker who is looking to get into vaping.

While the Kipo does in fact hold up to chain vaping very well (I chain vaped it quite a bit to see if it could handle it and it did - never a dry or burnt hit), being that it has a small 520mah battery and only 2ml juice capacity, it really isn't designed for heavy use. But I would recommend it for heavy users when they need a stealth device that they'll be using less frequently than normal. In such a case I would recommend using the 1.0 ohm pod over the 1.3 ohm pod.

A suggestion to Univapo:
To me, the only thing that makes the Kipo's design feminine is certain colors that are available for it (especially the gradient colors). In the black and gunmetal colors especially, the Kipo really isn't feminine in my eyes, it's just a small and stealthy pod kit. I believe it should be marketed toward a wider market - the small vape/stealth vape market. Just my opinion. I would recommend this to men and women alike as a small or stealthy vape, but because of your marketing it may turn the men off which will decrease your sales.

Notable Pros:
  • Light and tiny - super stealthy size
  • Great vapor production and decent flavor.
  • Nice loose MTL to tight RDL draw.
  • Comfortable on the lips
  • Fast charge the first ~90-95% of the battery
  • Never leaked for me
  • Has only one tiny LED light making it more conducive for stealth use.
  • Pods prime quickly with just a couple light primer puffs making them readily available to vape shortly after filling

Notable Cons:
  • Seems to be only available from the manufacturer's website, which means they are shipped from China. This is not good in terms of pod availability. If you can't get the pods at a local vape shop, that means you have to order a lot of pods and plan ahead so that you don't run out before your next order
  • Small liquid capacity
  • Small battery capacity
  • Bottom fire button is awkward to use for me
  • Can spit back for a few puffs right after filling the pod
  • Fill port cover can be hard to pry open if you have very short nails
  • Charging cable supplied is very short (7.5 inches end to end)

iJoy Captain Link 4.jpg

Available colours:
I received the Green version of Captain Link for this test, the different choices seem to differ only in the color of the mask which is chromatically matched to the adjustment buttons (Fire, Up, Down).
• Black, SS, Blue, Green, Red.

iJoy Captain Link 5.jpg

First impressions:

This is my first review of an iJoy product. For this and other reasons I was very curious to try this Kit.
Since VooPoo started using the classic "circular" tank with fixed drip-tip for DL / RDL and bottom refill, all the main competitors have copied and re-proposed their versions on the theme.
The magnetic base with adjustable AFC could not escape the same fate; convenient and brilliant to apply the Pod to the classic Mods through the 510 thread. It is a simple and winning solution, however there are updated "circular Pods" with replaceable Drip-Tip and refill from the top.

I found other similarities with a very famous and beautiful product from GeeKvape. Captain Link and Aegis Max, in fact, both use a 18650/21700 cell for a Max power of 100W.
The two Mods look pretty similar (in anti-shock type of construction). Sure the Aegis is full IP-67 (Tri-Proof), however I never thought about vaping in the shower.
So for some reasons I believe that the iJoy Link can be a valid and economical alternative, for example, to the competitor VooPoo X Plus which accuses some volt / battery management problems with MTL atomizers installed.
Captain Link is in fact a suitable choice for those who want to use MTL atomizers without voltage drops occurring during cell discharge.
The small size of iJoy Captain Link, its beautiful finishes, the constant power delivery with different types of coils and the possibility of hosting a large 21700 cell seem to be excellent premises ...
I just have to continue to better evaluate this kit.

iJoy Captain Link 6.jpg

Feeling:
As I anticipated, the small dimensions are almost record-breaking and the weight is not excessive. Captain Link is very solid and despite being made of zinc alloy it also feels quite light. The four inserts in soft silicone rubber are well positioned and their "striped" surface texture is very pleasant in contact with the fingers.
The handle is really ergonomic with a sizing almost equivalent to that of a tube-mech or semi-mech with 21700. However here we have a nice 0.96 "color display. That's why I feel like saying that iJoy with Captain Link has made a rational work on the dimensions, without neglecting the aesthetic part that is captivating.

iJoy Captain Link 7.jpg

Side view:
The frame is in Zinc alloy and the armor (green in this case) ... I think it is made of aluminum is screwed to the mod by means of two torx screws and extends from one side to the other covering the entire rear part dedicated to the handle.
In the center we find the silicone rubber element (1 per side), during the vape this insert comes into contact with the hand and fingers, thus creating comfort and grip. The panels are connected with the front part in order to narrow the section, otherwise towards the handle the panels and the armor take on a rounded shape to improve the feeling with the palm of the hand.

iJoy Captain Link 8.jpg

Front and back view:
The screen crosses the entire front area and houses a bright 0.96 "color display in the center that shows all the information useful for vaping.
The Fire, Up and Down keys are slightly protruding, easy to reach and take up the color of the armor. Below we find the Type-C 5V / 1.5A charging socket.

The back (handle) is the most elaborate area of the Mod, the rounded shape is comfortable and the rubbery inserts inserted in the armor vary a little the look compared to the usual eco leather. Personally, I really like this solution for its utility (grip), tactile and aesthetic feeling.

iJoy Captain Link 9.jpg

Top and bottom view:
The 510 threaded cup is screwed to the mod via 3 torx screws and has a gold-plated floating pin for better electrical conductivity. Captain Link can accommodate atomizers up to a diameter of 25 / 26mm without protrusion.

On the bottom we find the screw cap of the compartment / battery.
The cap has 3 safety holes for venting and a convenient lifting handle to facilitate cell change. The thread of the cap on the mod has a good smoothness.

Tornado EX2

Hi has anyone had any problems with the battery of the Tornado EX2? I've had two batteries for just over 4 months and had a big problem with both at different times. I've switched them off at night but when I've come down I've smelt burning, I've noticed the liquid in my pen was bubbling out and the battery was red hot. I think if it had been left any longer it would have exploded.
I threw my first one away as the same happened, but when I went to use it again it kept switching on on it's own. I've gone back to the shop and they said " theyve not had a problem with them", please be vigilant as I dread to think what could have happened if me and my partner wasnt home or still in bed.
