INNOKIN KROMA - Z AIO KIT REVIEWED BY BIGBOB2322

Hello again everyone and welcome back for today's review of the Kroma - Z from Innokin. The Kroma Z was not provided from Innokin for this review instead it was a contest win that Innokin conducted and I was the lucky winner of. After using the device and being very pleased with it's performance I decided to include it in my review queue and do a review of it. First of all let me tell you that the Kroma Z uses a built in 3000 mAH battery and uses type-c quick charging and as the title says is a AIO pod device that comes with many extras that should make any vaper happy, ( novice or veteran ) and will also make MTL or RDL vapers equally as happy because of the fully adjustable airflow that can close down to a true cigarette type of draw or open up to a nice RDL draw. Maximum wattage is 40w and is a wattage only device. Before I get into the review let's have a look at the Kroma Z and find out some details before I give you my findings of it in the review.

INITIAL IMPRESSIONS

First off I noticed that packaging was a bit different than the usual from Innokin being that no longer will anything be packaged in plastic but rather paper instead which I applaud Innokin for trying to help save the environment. All your extras and kit components are packaged in paper envelopes that are stamped with whats inside each one.

As shown earlier Innokin provides 3 different drip tips with one for RDL and the other 2 being for MTL one in a straight style and the other a more traditional MTL style all of which are 510 and feel comfortable . The Kroma Z comes with 2 coils a 0.8Ω (15-18w ) which is preinstalled and a 0.3Ω (30-40w ) . Innokin also provided 2 different types of airflow control rings that secure the coil of your choice to the pod itself.

Each control ring is different with the amount of holes as well as the diameter of the holes. For MTL you can use either control ring and dial in your draw tightness with the airflow control lever but if you like a really tight cigarette type of draw the single tiny hole control ring is your best bet, many of today's pod styled devices claim that they are MTL capable but very few actually are but I can tell you the Kroma Z does in fact close down to a very tight MTL draw.

The included coils are a 0.8Ω round wire and a 0.3Ω mesh, if using the preinstalled 0.8Ω coil try it first with the 3 holed airflow control ring to see if you like it and if you don't just unscrew it and replace it with the single holed tighter one but any new vapers reading this use the 3 holed ring for the 0.3Ω coil only and don't forget to first prime either coil with juice and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes after filling the pod . Below is a photo of both coils with the 0.8 round wire with the screen on top of it on the left and the 0.3 mesh on the right.

20210123_070400.jpg

The pod itself is connected using 2 strong magnets and also a tiny tab located right below the fillport aiding in securing the pod from accidentally coming off. The coils are a push in type just be sure when installing to line up the flat sides of the coil with the flat sides of the pod then screw on one of the airflow control rings.

20210123_081232.jpg

Below the Kroma Z is pictured with the optional 510 connecter already connected in the background and the pod with the tight MTL single hole airflow control ring installed. When using the single hole control ring there really is no difference of draw adjusting the airflow lever on the device itself.

20210123_115020.jpg

The Kroma Z has 2 airflow slots that are located on the sides of the device and uses a lever located in back of the device to control the amount of air entering , what happens on one side happens on the other. The lever selector has just the right amount of tension being not to tight or loose, I've not had the selector come off it's setting while it was in my pocket. Airflow is smooth across the different settings and relatively quiet as well. Shown below in it's half closed position.

20210123_080720.jpg

The fillport of the pod is in the front and is a side fill which I like because I seem to be able to get side fill pods filled to the brim a bit more easily. The fill hole is big enough that if you use dropper bottles you will have no problem and another nice thing is that the fill plug can be rotated out of the way when filling the 4.5ml pod. Another very nice feature of the pod is although it's tinted, it's lightly tinted so viewing your juice is easily done without having to hold it up to bright light to see the level of juice.

20210123_080157.jpg

Now we come to the brains of this AIO, the Kroma Z uses smart tech to recognize what coil is installed and then give you a recommended wattage for that coil to start out without the user having maybe forgot to change the wattage setting from a previous coil or if using the optional 510 adapter and burning up a brand new coil, this feature should be a standard on all devices and I'm happy that Innokin employs it in the Kroma Z.

Another feature is the Kroma Z uses a firebar just like the Kroma R uses and I absolutely love firebars on vaping devices, no feeling or looking for the fire button just pick it up and squeeze and your vaping. I found the device to be solidly built with no cheap feeling at all. Although not a very wide device it sits solidly as well as level on any flat platform.

20210123_114248.jpg

The firebar also doubles as your display screen that has all the information that you need nicely laid out with the font of said info being big enough to see without having to squint. The display panel screen is tinted also and can be seen easily indoors in bright sunlight there is a bit of wash out because of tinting being just a bit heavy. Images are very sharp and vivid in detail with your information as follows. Upper left corner is your green unlock or red lock symbol upper right corner is the battery bar with wattage below them both in the center of the screen, below wattage in the bottom left corner is seconds puffed , ohms across in the bottom right corner, puff counter in the very bottom left side with volts in the very bottom right corner. Your up and down buttons are below the display screen and your type-c charge port in below them at the very bottom.

20210123_091108.jpg

The Kroma Z comes in some very attractive colors and has different textures depending on color choice, some have a type of rubberized textured feel to them and some have a leather backing to them such as the green two-toned one I have with the leather spine, either way or color choice look very nice.

20210123_084616.jpg

I was lucky enough to have the optional 510 adaptor sent also and I have to say it works very well reading my build of 0.75Ω in a tank that I installed on it accurately as well as vaping just fine and having a almost seamless look when attached. Whatever you attach size wise it can accept a 26mm Tank or RDA with no overhang, shown with a 22mm Tank attached.

20210123_123413.jpg

There really is no menu to speak of just a couple button combinations that I'll list below

* On/off - 3 presses of the firebar
* Firebar and up button held together gives the option to clear the puff counter
* Firebar and down button held together locks wattage adjustment but can still be vaped
* Up and down button held together gives you vape time cutoff and screen timeout settings

FINAL THOUGHTS

Well folks in wrapping up this review I have to say that what I hoped for out of the Kroma Z came true as the device functioned as intended with no hiccups or problems arising. Both coils were read correctly and vaped very well with good flavor and vapor production. I really like the way the Kroma Z uses the MTL coil ring to give a very nice tight MTL vape with a acceptable throat hit.

Using in RDL mode with the 0.3Ω coil also proved enjoyable with good flavor and vapor. I have to say I was worried the 510 adapter would suffer a little bit of voltage sag but that was not the case every build put on read the coil correctly except 1 that was off 0.1 tenth of a ohm so in my eyes the 510 adapter is a solid addition to this AIO.

Having a firebar makes your vaping experience so effortless and when they work well as the Kroma Z's work you don't even need to look at the device because the ergonomic feel is so good, your hand just cradles it and it works in any position.

When I first laid eyes on it back a few months ago I wanted it and almost bought it but thought when will I be able to use it being a reviewer with so many devices, tanks, drippers coming across my desk I put it on the back burner and kind of forgot about it until seeing a contest that Innokin was holding so I entered it and as luck would have it I won.

I think the Kroma Z AIO is a very good device for someone just starting their vaping journey as well as a seasoned vaper, it works and it works well. I would like to thank Timmy and Innokin for the contest in which I was the lucky winner. I hope this review helped anyone looking to purchase the Kroma Z .

THANK YOU

Love my new drag 2!

I just purchased the new drag 2 with the magnetic tank! It has the adapt PNP coils. I love how you remove the tank with ease flip it, fill it and presto just pop it back on with the magnetic base! It is genius! Also the tank being made of plastic and the mouth piece is part of the tank itself. I have literally broken or lost every single mouth piece I have ever had! Also shattered tanks! Yeah I am a professional at breaking those! I used to keep at least one spare tank in my purse or car! Voopoo is my favorite and my savior!! This is only my second post on this site. So sorry if it doesn't sound as good as some of the other posts or reviews. I really just wanted to share my love with other people that would actually care to hear about it and relate! Blessed be!

I will not drink the koolaid with those other nutjobs but I will vape the koolaid flavor with you guys! Well this was my debutante coming out post. I am now officially a hardcore woman vaper. I joined a club that shares my crazy favorite bad habit! Hope your day or night is going well! *raises mod, hits and blows* here's to us!

Can Vaping Help Prevent and Cure kidney Disease?

One in nine people have some form of kidney disease - and this puts one at a much higher risk of other more lethal diseases such as heart attack and stroke.

I have a close friend who has kidney disease and was told that cigarette smoking puts her at a much higher risk of it getting worse. So as a favor
I did some research on nicotine and came up with some interesting facts.

And some observations of why you never hear about the truth
- A truth 'they' {the anti-tobacco cartel} doesn't want you to know.

'They', the anti-tobacco cartel that spends billions of dollars to destroy anything and everything related to tobacco will do its best to suppress any information that shows there is anything beneficial about tobacco use - Especially if it is in a form that has proven to be less harmful than the lit tobacco, such as vaping.

A friend of mine has kidney disease, which they will tell you can be made worse by smoking, especially cigarettes and there is some statistical evidence to back that up.

But what they won't tell us is this:
"......In conclusion, our data show that long-term oral nicotine improves kidney function, reduces proteinuria, renal inflammation, and glomerulosclerosis in MWF rats. This novel action of nicotine could be evaluated as a potential additional therapeutic option for treating proteinuric and/or inflammatory kidney diseases."

https://journals.physiology.org/doi/full/10.1152/ajprenal.00507.2011

Of course cigarette smoking is full of toxic chemicals

And evidence to date has shown that vape has much, much less toxicity

So in vaping the cleaner form of nicotine use - You may get the benefits of nicotine without the often deadly toxicity that comes from lit tobacco and especially lit cigarettes !!!

And finally and in my opinion, in talking about the rats they used to do the study,

How about the Human rats who are trying to destroy vaping and drive nicotine users back to smoking?

They already took over in India - Let's keep the public and myopic politicians informed in the USA about the truth, and sometimes even benefits of vaping !!!

E-cigarette won't fit into the charger anymore

My Aspire e-cigarette won't fit into the charger, or three of my four cartridges. It will fit into the fourth cartridge, which has a much wider hole for the prong. Do you have any idea what might be wrong?

It looks like there is no way for the e-cig and the charger to hook up, since the e-cig ends in a prong and the end of the charger has a solid cylinder. Am I missing a piece?

I know that I used to use the thing, but I've been away for eight months and now I don't remember what I did.

Hi! New member that needs help

Hi! Been vaping for a little while now, started off with the Uwell KOKO caliburn and recently upgraded to the SMOK rpm40 kit. Tonight I was carrying a few items including my vape and accidentally held down on the button without realising (I had no vape juice in as I was just about to fill it up but was getting out the car) it ended up smoking and produced a really bad burning smell so I gathered I burnt out the coil... Just got home and thought ok let me change the coil and see if it works but it’s still producing that foul burnt smell and taste I tried changing the whole pod but even that hasn’t had an impact. Have I completely buggered the whole vape, will I have to buy a whole new one or is there a way I can fix it?! Pls pls pls need help. Many thanks!

New member, nicotine question

Hi everyone, I've been vaping a little over 5 years now and making my own juice for about 4 years. In the beginning, I used flavors, but I like to keep it simple now. I was vaping a cheap pen-style battery (ego/510) and making 50/50 juice with 12 mg nicotine and using a 1.8 coil. That seemed to be a good nicotine amount, as I had started with 24 mg and have gradually cut down. Now, I just got a Smok Nord and the coil is 1.4, but I started getting palpitations and got a little light headed when I started vaping it. I am under the impression that certain coil strengths mean you need to cut down the nicotine? They put a .6 coil in the kit also, and that means I need to use less nicotine for that coil, right? I'm so confused about the nicotine and coil strength, and pointing me in the right direction would be most appreciated. Also, if I use the .6 coil, whats a good pg/vg ratio? That needs to change too, right?

New to the forum and looking to start making my own stuff

Hi, I've been vaping for a few years and been buying the same juice for almost the same amount if time. I use VGod Cubano Black. My local shop carries it in stock usually but its been out for a while and they said it was on back order. I can find it online but most of the time the nicotine level isn't what I prefer or they want over $25 a bottle. I've been interested in making my own and thought I would give it a try.

Where would I start? How would I mix a juice that clones the type i use?

Heart Palpilations Gone when switched from smoking to vaping.

I am 41 year old male smoking average 50 cigarettes per day from 18 years old untill 6 weeks ago. 23 years smoker.

About 10 months ago I start having heart palpilations. They were on a daily basis around 2 to 5 episodes per day lasting anywhere between 10 seconds to a couple of minutes. Some were realy intense scaring the hell out of me. So i finaly went to a cardiologist and did all the exams and the doctor informed me that my heart is generaly in good condition and the palpilations are triggered by smoking and my very unhealthy high cholesterol diet. The 24 hours wearing a holster showed I was Average heart rate 90, Maximum 140 and minimum 60 which are all higher than normal for my age (41). High cholesterol in the blood works. So conclusion he recomended 3 things:
1. Stop smoking
2. Decrease coffees (from 4-5 to max 2)
3. Change my diet.

3 days BEFORE i got the results and the diagnosis i started vapping and stoped smoking the same day. I havent lit a cigarette after switching. So here is the weird part..... I did not decrease coffee, i did not change my diet. The only thing that changed was the switch from smoking to vaping..... 1 month in..... the palpilations stoped completely! I havent had a single episode of palpilations since the 10th of January counting today 2 weeks. Exactly 1 month into vaping. For 10 months it was every single day. The frequency and intensity would vary day by day but it was every day. Now..... Nothing... Gone.!
So here are my questions....

Are there other member here that experienced this?
Do you think its because of the switch or maybe something else and its just a coincidence?

I would love to hear your opinions and experiences!

Review:

Good to see you get 3 mesh strips and 3 cotton strips in the packaging, this can get you through a couple of weeks out of the box.

It is a very gorgeous looking RTA, it is not very large with its 24,5mm diameter and what stands out most is its 28mm (without drip-tip) height, very short for an RTA. Overall machining feels proper, no issues with the threading whatsoever.

See below the profile M next to some other RTA’s:

There is some branding going on, but it is all nicely carved in which makes it not disturbing. On the airflow ring it says Profile M Wotofo and that’s it if its about the sides of the device. On the bottom you will find some additional details.

Easy to take apart and just like on many top airflow RTA's the chimney comes out as a separate piece. On the chimney you can clearly see the honeycomb airflow design that is hitting the coil from slightly above and sides. The knurling on the bottom makes it easy to unscrew the base from the tank. Also, the threading on the deck and chimney feels very proper, no issue there. You can easily take out the rubber gasket by sliding of the metal piece. Nice and easy, but no spare gasket is included in the kit.

Inserted drip-tip is one of those very low-profile ones, I am generally not a fan of these, but it does look nice. It is quite hard also to get it off right out of the box, used screwdriver in the end to push it out. The additionally included drip-tip is more of my style, it’s a bit taller.

The chimney section fits onto the deck only one way, it needs to line up with the screws and then stays in place. I find it much easier to screw back the base with the chimney first placed onto the deck as it seems hard to on the right way screwing on the deck when the chimney is inside the tank.

It has one of those slide and fill systems which generally I like, its a quick refill. It is not too loose nor restricted, it opens up smoothly. Good thing is that there is a membrane on the fill-port which will prevent it from flooding quickly when opened unnoticed. What I am missing is an indicator on where to push and slide to reveal the fill-port, its about pushing it into different directions and after a while you will find the right point. It should have been marked.

Fill port reveals sufficiently for an easy mess-free fill with larger bottle tips. A tiny hole on the other side ensures that there is no pressure while filling which ensures that liquid does not flood out of the fill port while filling.

With the straight plastic tube, you get 3.1ml capacity and with the plastic bubble tube 4ml. No, it is not a lot of capacity and when using it often you will need to refill quite frequently. I don't find this a con because the fill method is quick, and I would not want the tank to be taller as well as it looks great the way it is. Like the fact both tubes are plastic, they are simply less vulnerable.

Top airflow it is, and the main advantage of top airflow is not having to worry much about leaking and its smoothness. Ring turns easily with a nice restriction to it. It sounds smooth as well, no matter how far opened you have it. The honeycomb airflow on the chimney section works well together with the top airflow sleeves.

Deck is pretty much the same as on other mesh tanks by Wotofo. Two clamps and spring-loaded center ceramic 'pressurer' which makes sure the cotton is pressed properly towards the mesh strip. It would have been nice of the deck would have been the same as the Profile RDTA, allowing for Mesh, single and dual setup. Still it is possible to get a single coil onto a mesh RTA using the clamps, just have your coil legs pulled out widely. In my opinion the clamps should have been spring-loaded. Screws are also quite short, when they fall out together with the clamp it can be quite a pain to get it back in.

Just like any mesh deck, putting in a coil is the easy part. Use the included tool its thickest part to form the mesh and just place it into the clamps. Wicking is a different story; it requires some practice to get it right and not end up with nasty dry hits. Wicking ports are large enough on this deck, which helps. Cutting the cotton diagonally down from the strip to the deck I find the best practice. You must make sure the cotton is very well combed out and the cotton is extremely well saturated before it back together.

Putting it back together takes some practice, you need to eye-ball lining up the cut-outs on the chimney with the stick-out posts on the deck. But once you get them properly connected it slides back very smoothly.

How does it vape? Very well! Especially like the clapton mesh as the vapor is more concentrated and a bit warmer than regular mesh. Flavor is great as I would expect on a mesh RTA this short. Airflow sounds smooth making it a very smooth draw.

Also used it as a single coil RTA and it also works very well. Just don't comb out the cotton much as the wicking ports are meant for Mesh builds, meaning they are large for a single coil build.

Conclusion:

A nice tiny little RTA that delivery very nice flavor from all include mesh strips. It looks nice and it vapes very well, what else do you need?

Pro’s:

- Looks beautiful
- Minimal branding
- Feels properly machined
- 3 Mesh strips and cotton included
- Plastic tubes, more resistant than glass
- Easy to build on
- Outstanding flavor
- Smooth airflow
- Easy slide to fill system
- Ability to easily access and replace rubber gasket

Con’s:

- Spare rubber gasket not included in the box
- Installed drip-tip looks great, but way too short
- Missing indication on where to slide open fill-port

Thank you for taking your time to read again! Take care,

Sjoerd

Down the rabbit hole yet again ? Pioneer RTA.

So .. currently using dvarv's with bell cap type uppers, like the simplicity & minimal parts this configuration offers.
This was a move from kayfun/Russian RTA's, the vape is just as good (maybe better ?) but the maintenance & particularly the wicking is easier & more consistent. Quieter too !
Happy with the current program & have 4 or 5 in rotation to minimize fiddling with them, they are very inexpensive @ about 20.00 each (clones) including ditching all that steel in favor of bell caps

Recently Ive been hearing a siren song emanating from these Pioneer RTA's.
The apparent unencumbered build deck & simple coil attachment method (no more wrapping wires around screws !) has my attention, as the Dvarv is much less roomy & is somewhat fiddly in that regard.
By most all accounts, the Pioneer is a terrific vape & equal to the Dvarv's performance.
When I tried a Dvarv, after also trying berserker, doggy, et, al - it was apparent that the Dvarv was preferred over the kayfun & I set about changing over & purchased several.

If I were to procure a Pioneer RTA, how likely is it that the device will be the same epiphany that the Dvarv was in comparison to the previous kayfuns from both performance & 'living with it' perspectives ?
My Visa card awaits a determination from the collective .. with muted enthusiasm.
THX !

Hello So Glad to have found this Site

So as you can see we are new to the site but have been vaping for several years. Wish we had found you a long time ago.

Just joined and with all the information that I have found in a short time, decided it was worth subscribing to (especially at such a low cost). Remember people cannot be here for us if we do not support them, sometimes it does not cross users minds.

I hope to be active here and learn so much.
Thanks
