Guys what's the smallest box I can get from Sally's? I'll be in the states next week, and would like to bring a manageable size home :D

Do you have a buddy in the states you can ship it to? You can order box #44130 (40ft) and have it shipped there (Sally's doesn't carry that size). But it would probably end up costing MORE than the 500ft box (#44060) from Sally's. Or just do what Awsum said. If you'll have access to a vacuum cleaner one you get here, you can get one of those vacuum storage bags that you can suck all the air out of (Bed, Bath & Beyond, Harbor Freight), then it would be nice, compact, waterproof and super-flat.

Each store can carry their own selection for products like this, so which ones will be available kinda depends on the store. I would suggest contacting the local store and making sure they will have whichever box you want available.

I suggest using the Ziploc Roll-Up Space Bags...

The 'Carry-On' sized bag might very well hold a 3# box of CelluCotton with room for some TIDI and Delasco balls as well ;) If you do get a multi-pack box, you might save enough room in your luggage for other unexpected purchases :)

Now... are you bringing any of that Grecian titanium alloy wire with you?!

Lol... Smuggling rayon it sounds like. Lol

You been cracking me up lately, that comment about wierdos on the internet. Lol!

I am really surprised we have not read in the news about some airport being locked down due a passenger trying to board with a pipe-bomb loaded with chemical weapons agent. AKA a mod topped with a Kanger Subtank and their flav of the day! ;)

Just had an "holy crap" moment in vaping.

I've been having issues with rayon because, like Jeremy pointed out, I've been going about rayon with the same mentality as with cotton, so I just thought "....... it" and went ham with it, rolled up a gigantically thick piece, fed it thru while holding the coil, since it was so so tight, trimmed the tails (using an Erlkonigin) and lo and behold, wicks like magic, all the time and the flavor, oh man, the flavor is insane.... Just pure juice taste and am in 15mls already with zero flavor alteration, with cotcotton I'd have to change at 8ml as the coil was baked by this point and it'd taste terrible.

God bless rayon!

HA guys you crack me up ..... nice answers though .... Thanks :)

Just bring a large plastic bag, stuff the rayon in it, then sit on the bag to mush it down and stuff it in your suitcase. I'll bet you could get the largest box in that way.

I don't want more than i need, so probably not a good idea. You know i have to buy stuff for the wife

nope no buddies in the states, i might share it with someone though. stay tuned i might put an ad here at some point lol. i might consider the vacuum bags but still it is way too much :D

Buy a stuffed animal that you can carry on the return flight. Take out the stuffing and put the rayon in.

lol that's a great idea ...

will check them out .... as for titanium alloy, have not tried it yet honestly ;) ....

Just buy a pillow case stuff it with the rayon and tell the hostess it is your personal non allergenic pillow. They even sell pillow cases with zippers so you don't have to worry about sealing it.

would take up much space still ....

I foresee someone being stripped and cavity searched by TSA!

Don't worry I am sure I will "randomly selected for security check" :D:D

for the new generation,

double insertion

bump

Ok guys so finally took some pics of my wicking technique. What instigated this is that getting the right density was a headache especially for beginners. I got got the density right a lot of times but it had always one problem. The center of the cool is always the week spot. When you insert a wick it gets compressed. When you take it back and forth, you secure the edges but the middle of the coil will be the weakest point.

I have said before, when using a dripper sometimes I forget to drip or squonk. I would be busy at work and just forget. So i get a dry hit. With ever dry hit, the middle of the wick goes down. Probably because of scorching a little or because it cannot hold more juice as before I dunno but it does. After that point you will get more dry hits one after the other.

So what I did is use 2 pieces of rayon:

The pieces are of random size not too small but smaller than what you would usually use as a full wick.

You roll the edges:

And now you insert from both sides:

It is not easy the first time but gets really simple the more you do it. Once you have 2 tips showing, hold one and with the other hand (might need a tweezer, I don't anymore) pull the other end.

The trick is to pull both at the same time. They will interlock and provide a consistent thickness in the middle. Don't pull too much for it not to choke. But the benefit here is that the two pieces push each other toward the coil and push out the air without leaving gaps at the center of the coil.

Then cut the tails and put liquid.

I have been using this method for a while. Still dry hit lead to more dry hits but now you get around 4 or 5 warning toots since the wick is touching the coil in more places and takes the form of the coil. The pushing of 2 wicks ensures better coverage at the coil from the inside.

NYC for 3 nights then vegas for 7. Tight schedule with workshop and conference though. I wish I had more time. Afternoons will be free :D.

Add: first time in the states. Woohooo :D

Awesome!
That's great, you'll kinda see what its like over here, two of the craziest cities we have IMO...
Vegas for 7 days.. You'll be lucky if you make it home. Lol. You could just get a box take what you want and leave the rest in Vegas... What happens in vegas stays in Vegas.. :)

Tbev is over there somewhere.

NYC!! Kept your money in one front pocket and your wallet in the other front pocket. Make sure your life insurance is paid up if you ride in a cab. I wouldn't wander the streets after sun set. If it rains stay away from the mud puddles on the street, if you get splashed you'll reek of stench from it. I live upstate, cows and stuff, been to NYC twice and I'll never go back, there is nothing there that interest me at all. I hope you enjoy the trip and have a great time, some love the city but it's not for me. :)
