I hate being wasteful but I won't be like Busardo, hacking off an 8" piece to wick his Orchid build and throwing the excess away...Now don't be wastin! Pick them little smidgins up and save them, braid them into your next wick.

Just finally got my 500' box meself! You guys remember that nervous feeling you get the first time you bought condoms? Yeah, that same feeling crept in, especially when I walked in to sally's in my work uniform (I work at a glass plant). I got it tho!!!

So I rewicked my nautilus BVC custom build with the sally's, and I gotta say I'm liking it. I did notice that the fibers are a bit more coarse than the pill bottle stuff, but there's no difference (to me anyway) in performance.

Why do some/most build the Kayfun with the coil diagonal to the juice channels?
Also got an off topic question: Will I get flooding by top-filling a Kayfun Lite + v2 (can't shut off juice like the v4), using a Kayfun v4 top cap?

I build diagonal when the coil is a bit too long to go across the deck such as with parallel 28g.
There is no place for the KFL chimney pipe to seal with the V4 top cap, the juice will pour out the drip tip.
Same here, it is a little coarser than the other Rayon I was using, which was unknown brand from a B&M in Upper Canada.
Thanks jaxgator, I was wondering how many feet were in it as it only lists the weight.You got the 900 ft box. Almost twice as much as my 500 ft box and that one would last me two lifetimes.
Split it with a friend,or sell the half for 8.00.. Stuff is so cheap.

On a KFL you can top fill that way, I fill my 3.1 that way all the time. I believe he was asking about using a Kayfun V4 top cap which has no way to seal off the KFL chimney since there is no o-ring and it is designed for a threaded nut.
Hence I edited the post, while you were writing, or at least I didnt refresh to see your comment. Lol
It's all good, I think that was a post for the KFL thread that was misdirected here.
Nothing was misdirected- I had hoped someone familiar w/both the KFs involved would see it and comment. There's an o-ring in the v4 top cap, it's inside the threaded 510 adapter that's removed to top-fill. The way I'm using the v4 is w/the plastic tank so there's no nut involved. No worries though I'll ask elsewhere.

My bad... I didn't notice the o-ring in the bottom of part number 38 so it should work like a regular top fill on the KFL. Block all the air holes take the top nut off, fill with juice and put the top nut back on partway, invert and tighten. I think part #38 has a flat spot on one side to allow air to pass.
