Sorry I've been away for a while. I've been crazy busy the last few days.
Since I have decided NOT to get the mod, do you guys suggest I specifically get the tank and coils if I want to try this, or just the coils and any compatible tank? (In other words, anything special about the tank or just the coils)

Also REALLY wish there was more information available about this supposed coil problem
I wish those reports would be released, too. But like cooladdict, I really don't think anything bad will be found, if the testing is done under vape situations.

These are the compatible tanks that we know of so far:

Melo 2
iJust 2
Atlantis
Herakles
Heatvape Ecotank
AnyVape Fury Tank
AnyVape Fury Tank 2
.
Do these coils not have alot of air flow. I have them in a Atlantis tank and air is somewhat restricted
The airflow is restricted by the size of the opening at the coil, and it is a rather small diameter, at least in the ones I have.
I think the heat is just coming from the screen being constantly on when you don't notice it. Certainly doesn't hurt to be cautious, though. Mine was only warm the first time, when I didnt catch it immediately. Now, when my battery gets close to that level, I just watch it closely and change it the first time it does it.
The heat could also be coming from the battery. When the charge gets low, more Amps have to be supplied for the same thing that is being done, whatever it is.

That's true. And the screen stuck on would be causing a constant draw. And with a glitch it would probably draw a little more than normal.

Coil aside, which of those tanks is generally considered to be 'the best' assuming money isnt an issue
I am a huge fan of the Melo 2. Its top fill method is awesome.

Vaporesso cCell Ceramic .9 Ohm Coil
Experiencing Issues

Problem:

I bought the Vaporesso ccell .9 ohm coil the other day to try it out and everything everybody has said about it in reviews so far for the most part is what I've experienced too. On the other hand, I've only had this coil for 3 days, and it's been an awesome experience using this coil. I feel like I can pull on it and take a good drag for as long as I want without any chance of it burning up or putting out any kind of burnt taste. Thats one of my favorite things about this coil, and also the clean flavor. Anyway, my problem here started yesterday, and yesterday was only my 2nd day. Ive been puffin on this juice named Crystal Smurf, it's clear and has no color to it, I'm on 3mg nicotine. Yesterday i started to notice my juice was turning brown. And it kept getting more and more brown, so I pulled the base off and looked at the coil and you could tell it's been used, a little build up on the wire itself, but other than that I'm not 100% sure where this brown 'substance' or color is coming from, it may be the juice wicked into the ceramic and the wire having build up on it and those 2 together making it do that? Anyway, I dumped that juice out of it, made sure I took it apart and cleaned what I could and put it back together so I could put fresh, clean juice in it. Keep in mind my juice is only 3mg nicotine, and the juice is clear. what I've noticed is, it looks like this brown juice, or just a brown substance, or almost even looks like a brown dye, because of the way it comes out of the juice flow holes inside the tank. You can see it starts at the coil and works it's way back out through the juice flow holes into the tank mixing itself in with the clear juice I have in the tank. And the tank I'm using by the way is the triton V1. Does anybody know if you're able to clean this ceramic coil? Anyway to do so at all? Or if you're supposed to? Any ideas on what this might be?? Any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Please and thanks for your help.

LMAO! Not really applicable, but just reminds me of the old phrase as a kid "you can paint a turd gold, but it's still a turd"... not that the cCells are turds, of course! I'm happy as a lark that I just got 5 more kanthal coils into my hand the other day... now the restraint from trying to not put a new coil in is killing me!
Hahaha, that's kind of why I waited so long to order a 5-pack! I am vaping on the nickle coil right now, which is great in wattage mode, but I really like the kanthal. It's going to be a couple of weeks before I get them, and if the nickle coil is still going strong I will just throw a kanthal in a different tank! :)

I have a few juices that get dark while vaping. I am under the impression that it happens mainly because of added sweetener and sometimes just the components of a particular juice. It doesn't sound like the juice is getting burnt, just turning dark, right? If it isn't a temperature issue and your flavor isn't off, I wouldn't worry too much about it. The ceramic will turn dark after a few tanks full anyway. :)

I clean mine by dropping it into a small bowl of warm water with a denture cleaning tablet and letting it soak over night, then boiling a mug of water in the microwave and dropping the coil into that for a few hours. I rinse it off and let it dry, and the ceramic is still dark but the flavor is back. I got a good 20 tanks worth of juice out of my first kanthal coil by cleaning it this way after the first 10 tanks and I probably could have cleaned it again after the second 10 but had another coil so I actually sent it to 100%VG so he could inspect it and perform some of his own cleaning tests on it to see what he could find.

I hope this helps! All of this is purely based on my own personal experience and fiddling, so don't go citing my work in any journals or anything. :D

I'll try to address your situation.

I couldn't find anything in Crystal Smurf ingredients that looks like it would do that, but I don't know everything about it. I found a recipe that is supposed to duplicate it, so that was not an exact recipe.

Have you vaped this juice in other tanks? Does it stay clear in other tanks?

One of the things the cotton padding around the ceramic does is filter what gets into the ceramic and to the coil.
I haven't noticed any backflow in and out, nor have I seen anything like you have, but I can see that happening under certain conditions. Whatever the brown substance is, it has to be very fine to make its way back through the cotton.

What Wattage are you using on that 0.9Ω Kanthal cCell? It is rated from 20W to 35W. Exceeding 35W too much can damage materials in the Coil Head

NOTE: Just in case...
The Ni200 cCell should not be used in Wattage Mode. Doing that has a potential to damage the Nickel because the temperature is not regulated, and that could release Nickel particles into the vape.

I have used a cCell in the Melo 2 and the Fury Tank. Price aside, it will depend on what you're looking for. Things to consider are tank capacity, airflow, diameter. All I can speak for is the two I tried. They are both top fill and the Fury Tank has a 5ml capacity, tremendous airflow ability, and a very cool "Pumping Rod" top fill system that also acts as a juice flow control. And it comes with an RBA, if you are interested in that. I love the Melo 2 also.

I hope this helps. Maybe someone with experience with the other tanks will reply with their take on your question.
