I have the "rose gold" It is not. It is not like I had hopped I the pics it looks like the base coat is stainless steel then with a rose gold coating but it is not. It is a rose gold powder coating. it's pink.
Except for the Stainless one, they are all made of Zinc Alloy with a painted finish. That is listed in the description.

Parameters:

mod Dimension: 92x 48x 27 mm

Okay..... So here's the kicker. I hate the vape. Taste weird to me. Hate the air flow. I bought the pink and purple. Sold the pink. Back to my evil vtc mini and subtank
It takes about 2-3 mls fir the cCells to break in. I do agree, the tank leaves a lot to be desired. I'm using the kanthal in my Melo 2 and enjoying it much better.

I have a question related to the cCell ceramic, or for that matter, any ceramic used in applications for vapers.

The way I see it first . . .

Kanthal wire is a Ferritic Iron-Chromium-Aluminum (FeCrAl) Alloy.

Ferrite (iron), also known as α-ferrite (α-Fe) or alpha iron, is a solid solution of limited amounts of carbon in iron with a body-centered cubic (B.C.C) crystal structure. It is this crystalline structure which gives steel and cast iron their magnetic properties, and is the classic example of a ferromagnetic material.
So it would appear to have crystalline properties. I am not a chemist or metallurgist, so the crystalline properties of Kanthal may well be quite different than Ferittic Iron alone due to the addition of Aluminum and Chromium, but it still has a crystalline structure.

The composition of the cCell ceramic is made of Sodium Oxide, Aluminum Oxide, Potassium Oxide, Ferric Oxide {aka Iron (III) Oxide}, Magnesium Oxide, Nickel, Chromium, and Silicon Dioxide, but we aren't very concerned about the Ferrite Iron, Chromium, and Aluminum that's in Kanthal A1, because neither Iron, Chromium, or Aluminum are released to the vapor under normal use. Those elements are integral components of the wire, not loosely scattered around.

Ceramic A ceramic is an inorganic, nonmetallic solid material comprising metal, nonmetal or metalloid atoms primarily held in ionic and covalent bonds. The crystallinity of ceramic materials ranges from highly oriented to semi-crystalline, and often completely amorphous (e.g., glasses). Varying crystallinity and electron consumption in the ionic and covalent bonds cause most ceramic materials to be good thermal and electrical insulators and extensively researched in ceramic engineering. Nevertheless, with such a large range of possible options for the composition/structure of a ceramic (e.g. nearly all of the elements, nearly all types of bonding, and all levels of crystallinity), the breadth of the subject is vast, and identifiable attributes (e.g. hardness, toughness, electrical conductivity, etc.) are hard to specify for the group as a whole. However, generalities such as high melting temperature, high hardness, poor conductivity, high moduli of elasticity, chemical resistance and low ductility are the norm, with known exceptions to each of these rules (e.g. piezoelectric ceramics, glass transition temperature, superconductive ceramics, etc.). Many composites, such as fiberglass and carbon fiber, while containing ceramic materials, are not considered to be part of the ceramic family.
There are some scientific words in this description, but you can look them up. :)

So it has a crystalline structure and crystalline properties.

Magnesium, Aluminum, and Chromium have crystalline structures as well, especially in Oxide forms.

hmmm.gif
Many of these elements and their oxides are found in ceramics, and in our wires.

Ceramic%20Components.jpg

.
I made this chart to show the differences in two different types of ceramic.
The study ceramic is a Clay ceramic.

Various wire types have been feared at first and then been proven safe (or safe enough) under our application's normal uses. Nickel got a lot of bad coverage at first, but Carbonyl (the carcinogen in question) is formed from loose, miniscule particles of Nickel powder in Industrial applications that do not apply to our application. And you have a choice. You can select which wire types you are willing to use. If you don't like the idea of Nickel, for example, then it's a personal choice to avoid it; not something to get all riled up about. The same goes for wires like NiChrome, Titanium, Stainless Steel, Silver, Gold, other composite wire alloys, and the Ceramics that may be associated with them.

Sure, there are more elements used to compose these ceramics than there are in Kanthal, and one is a metal while the other is not, but all of these things, both wires and ceramics, are made at temperatures far above our application standards, and the metals don't decompose under normal use. I don't believe the ceramic will, either (but that's me). With the cCell ceramic, the percentages of each element decrease as the list continues from Sodium Oxide to Aluminum Oxide. Those percentages are no longer readily available for the cCell ceramic (I really wish I had kept a copy of the original report!!!), but as the list continues, they become more like trace elements. The point is that they exist in smaller and smaller proportions than Sodium Oxide and Aluminum Oxide.

We don't have the luxury of any properly done scientific studies yet on most of these products, so if a person has reservations about the use of any of them, then why not simply avoid using it/them, and wait for those test results? If the studies are never done, or you are not comfortable with the reports that are released, then don't use them at all. It's a simple choice and a simple decision. The decision to vape at all instead of smoking cigarettes is just as much a decision of finding an alternative that you consider to be much more safe than smoking, as it is one of being comfortable with the types of products you use by researching them. Study them and get the facts. If you can't find facts for some reason (any reason), then maybe you should avoid them. If you aren't one to do that kind of research, then maybe you should avoid them. If you are OK with ceramics (or whatever else comes along), but concerned about the heat that the wire gets to in the manufacturing process, then maybe you should avoid them. So why not use whatever you are comfortable with, avoid the rest of it, keep it simple, and be a happy vaper?

No one is forcing anybody to use a product of any kind, be it temp control, nickel, titanium, or ceramics. The choice is yours to make. New products of different technologies are available for those who are interested in them. It's really that simple.

I am not posting this to seem arrogant, obnoxious, or argumentative. This is just the way I see the evolution of vaping.

Good night and God Bless!

I'm just a little spoiled from using my TFV4 now.

DITTO!!! I bought my first TFV4 about a month and a half ago. Loved it sooooo much I now have 4. I'm still using the coils that came with the tanks and the triple coil blew me away; the quad coil not so much. I also ordered so of the nickel tanks for TC and can't wait to try them out.

Still trying to figure out how the ceramic coil in the Vaporesso Target Tank
is any better than what's on the market now other than the perks of self cleaning, etc...

Think I'll wait for more reviews and maybe try them on my Atlantis 7ml tank. I prefer a much larger tank and don't see the need to waste money on their 3.5ml.

I agree about the size of the Target tank. The capacity is low compared to what seems to be becoming the standard. But you'd have to experience a cCell for yourself to taste and see the difference. I fully understand wanting to wait for valid test results, and I anxiously await that myself.

Hello! I recently received the Vaporesso Target Tank & would like to give my review. As a regular member of the ECF community for 7+ years now, I believe I do have merit and substance concerning my opinion of this product. I will begin the review by stating that my over-all impression of the Target Tank was positive. The amount of time that I have spent with the tank is a range of 4 or 5 days now. I have consistently used the tank as my ALL DAY VAPE for this amount of time. I rarely if ever have used another tank/device. For the benefit of this review, I will state that I used the Vaporesso Target Tank a-top a mechanical mod. I am using the supplied 0.9 ohm Kanthal Ccell Coil inside of the tank with fresh battery to 3.5v before switching batts, usually.

Upon receiving the tank, I promptly filled her up with 10mg strawberry flavored e-liquid. I allowed the e-liquid to sit within the tank for 3-4 minutes prior to taking my first hit. My 1st hits from the tank were unsurprisingly good. I could not get over the flavor! I suspected this tank would deliver a clear flavor & I was right in my theory!! Holy COW! The flavor was outstanding from the very 1st 5-10 puffs from the tank. The flavor was very CLEAR! I could taste NOTHING that would suggest the wick material was adding to the strawberry flavoring. I was very familiar with this strawberry e-liquid, as I had been vaping it for around a week prior to this review. I must say that the Target Tank delivered the flavor of this juice precisely and uninhibited, with NO leeching of wick flavor (which you cannot avoid with cotton wick) and NO metallic tastes from the coil. This coil head REALLY impressed me from the very start of my time with it.

Absolutely NO break-in time was needed. The flavor was clear as day. In-fact, I must admit that this tank delivered the CLEAREST/PUREST flavor from my e-liquids that I've ever experienced from ANY OTHER tank or RDA that I have EVER used. I was/am VERY pleased with the cCell coil head, and this tank. The flavor from this tank has surprised me and been outstanding from the very start. HOWEVER- Now on day five, I am beginning to experience a slight "burn" taste upon the 1st few inhales of a vape session. This taste quickly subsides as I continue vaping on the tank, however, it is there. I am sad to say this, because the first 4 days were outstanding, flavor-wise. Just yesterday I admitted that this is probably the BEST vape-topper that I have EVER enjoyed using a-top a mod. It's probably going to remain a favorite of mine well into the future- I just hope that this burnt taste subsides and/or is a fluke, as 5 days of use before tasting a burnt flavor is not a whole-lot of use out of 1 coil head. However, with there being NO break-in period, and no strange flavor additive from the wick, this is still going to be a favorite tank of mine, I am sure.

I have experienced NO leaking issues what-so-ever, however the glass seems a bit loose and if I were to pull very hard on it, the O-rings would not hold. NO leaking issues at-all, though.

The vapor production from this tank has been OUTSTANDING! When I placed this tank on top of my regulated subox mini and tried 35-40 watts with the 0.9 coil, the vapor production surprised even me. It filled my large living room with long-lingering vapor. The vapor production is of the best I've experienced from any tank.

The airflow control is sleek and smooth and easy to use. The 1st few days it was tough to move the airflow ring without unscrewing the tank from the mod. Now, 5 days into it's use, I can change the airflow hole with the tank attached to the mod with no issues, and it is a very smooth track indeed.

Over-all I would love to give this tank 5 stars & as I have said, yesterday I told a friend of mine that it is probably the BEST atomizer unit that I have EVER had the pleasure of using, in all my years of vaping. However, due to the now burnt taste of the coil head, which I am hoping will go away with time, I cannot give this tank 5 stars. 4 stars will have to do, for now. Over-all, though, this tank has been a true pleasure to use. I cannot get over the PURITY of the flavor of my e-liquids within the tank (at-least in the first 4 days) and I cannot get over the simplicity, ease of use/filling/coil-changing/etc and the performance of the coil has been bar-none the best of the best. I give this tank a SOLID FOUR STARS & would recommend this to anyone.

Thank you for your time & I hope you ALL get a chance at enjoying this ceramic coil-head tank for yourselves, as it is truly a pleasure to use. :) Thank you for your time.

EDIT- I also need to add that this tank's juice-using is absolutely MARVELOUS! I have gone through less juice using this tank than with ANY OTHER TANK that I have EVER used. I can chain vape (as I regularly would w/any other tank) all day long, and NOT have to refill until just before bed OR the next morning. This is fantastic, considering I would normally have to refill much sooner. This tank is EXTREMELY efficient in conserving juice while ALSO giving you a vape that compares to the piggiest of juice-hog tanks. It's as-if I am dripping to conserve juice, but I am using a tank and I don't have to TRY to conserve at all! This tank is extremely efficient and I have to give it up to Vaporesso for this as well.

An excellent write up! Well written with comprehensive coverage. I'm glad you are enjoying it so much!
I didn't try mine on a Mech Mod, but thanks for reporting your results with one. That would be a Max of about 19.6 Watts. I only used the tank with the Target Mod for my evaluation period. I have used it on other Mods since then and it works great with each of them.

I have found my glass tube to be loose, as you and others have. With mine, if I hold the base and tighten the top after refilling, the glass won't spin.

The ceramic is supposed to recover from situations where the Watts were too high for brief periods. The Kanthal cCell is rated at 20-35W. If you exceeded that for an extended period, then this could be what caused the burnt taste. But I do hope yours will recover to your satisfaction.

I've had to quit using mine. It gives me a headache after only a few vapes. I think I need to go down to 3mg nic. I got a dual rba for my TFV4 the same day I got the Target. I was using a .26 ohm build in it and getting a headache, too. I went back to a single rba at 1.2 ohms, no headaches...but I miss the flavor from the cCells.

Wow, this is AMAZING, VG! You did a ton of research, and I thank you very much for that, and you confirmed what I have been feeling about all of this lately. I LIKE the sintered ceramic coil and the vaping experience I get from it. I am okay with the innocent until proven guilty theory at this point. :)

I bet you're right. Lowering your nic level will probably resolve those pesky headaches! :)

I hope so. Just bought 80mls of 6mg the day I got the Target, though. And what's weird is I was sub ohming before, but from .5 to .75 on single rba. And .15 Ni200, but with cotton. I think the cCell and the dual rba were just making too much vapor for 6mg.

I am genuinely considering pulling the kanthal coil out of this and poppin' in the temp control coil for use a-top my Evic Mini or Subox Mini APV because this coil just isn't recovering. it DID seem to recover for around 18 hours, and now it is tasting very burnt and almost bitter in taste all over again. This is not due to an extended period of time vaping the 0.9 ohm coil at 30+ watts, as I have only vaped this tank a-top my SMPL+ mod, other than 3 puffs I took at/around 20 or maybe 25 watts on my subox mini APV (but those 3 puffs were far before the tank began emitting a burnt/bitter taste)

Hi there, I am new to this board but have read this thread since very beginning. Now I have Target tank for more than two weeks and hope you will found interesting my experience with cleaning CCell coils.

First of all: Dark e-liquids kill CCell's much faster than transparent ones. Sad thing is best (in my opinion) e-liquids are dark because of natural flavourings. I think this happens because the particle size of the natural flavors bigger than the artificial. I love Nicoticket liquids, and they perform very well on Vaporesso Taret,
but unfortunately coils become dark as night and loses flavour in just a few days.
So i tried to use old technique that works fine with mesh wicks in Genesis atty's: 30% Hydrogene peroxide bath, you can find it in aquarium shops.

quote from wikipedia:
Hydrogen peroxide is a chemical compound with the formula H2O2. In its pure form, it is a colourless liquid, slightly more viscous than water; however, for safety reasons it is normally used as an aqueous solution. Hydrogen peroxide is often described as being "water but with one more oxygen atom", a description that can give the incorrect impression of significant chemical similarity between the two compounds. While they have a similar melting point and appearance, pure hydrogen peroxide will explode if heated to boiling, will cause serious contact burns to the skin and can set materials alight on contact. For these reasons it is usually handled as a dilute solution (household grades are typically 3–6% in the U.S. and somewhat higher in Europe). Its chemistry is dominated by the nature of its unstable peroxide bond.

It works really well cleaning ceramic coils, but u need to be very careful with timing. First attempt was 24 hours bath in 30%HP, just coils "as is", no disassembling. After 24 hours ceramics became much whiter, almost clean. I pulled them out and put into boiling water for 15 minutes and left to dry for 2 days. After cleaning coils performs very well, maybe 1 day less than new ones.
Second attempt was 48 hours bath, and few ours before 48 i felt chemical smell and sizzle coming from the small glass with coils in HP. glass became warm and I'm immediately put it under running water. What I've found after boiling this coils - Hydrogene peroxyde annihilate all the cotton inside the coils! It just disappeared. Completely. Ceramics itself became pure white, just as a new coil! So I was able to rebuild it easilly with a japanese cotton.

I'm going to continue cleaning this coils again and again to understand how long they can really last.

P.S. I have very basic knowledge of chemistry, if someone here are experienced - please share you thoughts about aspects of health safety dealing with Hydrogene Peroxide.

P.P.S. I apologize for my English, since it is not my native language

Hey Sinterheads! Heaven Gifts now has the kanthal cCells in stock! I just ordered me some. :D They still show as preorder on the website, but I ordered them because I wanted to take advantage of the 15% off sale and the $10 gift code I had. My order showed as having shipped within hours of placement, so I contacted them to see if that was correct and just got confirmation that they did just receive a shipment. Yay! :) The nickle cCells are also in stock but they already showed up as in stock.
