Just got the Lemo 2 and really love it. Been vaping on nothing but a plume veil the past 7 months and hate driving and dripping. I was a little apprehensive about the tank not giving me the big hits that a dripper does, but I was pleasantly surprised. Hell, I am using the stock build and cotton and it works well.

From what I have heard, Kayfun screws like the ones from fatdaddy work...or since you have a Kayfun already, maybe you have some extra screws?

As for the shaft coming off with the topcap, I make sure the chamber and chimney are tightly secured first and then screw on the topcap so it is snug. That tends to do the trick for me. of course, it only really matters if you are trying to take it apart with juice still in it, which I have found is pretty much going to be a bloody mess no matter how you go about it.

That goes for the Lemo and Lemo 2.

I need to go through my screw collection and see what screws I can find with a larger head for the Lemo 2...and i thought the heads on the Lemo screws were bad.
Google cheesehead screws. I put 1.6 x4mm ones on mine. Cheeseheads are flat on the bottom where they pinch the wire under the screw and have larger diameter heads. Theyre better than fat daddys. I have both.

There's some information that is missing from your post. You don't mention what wire gauge you are using. Also, is 2Ω the reading you were expecting?

To me, it sounds like you may have some kind of connection issue causing a high resistance reading that shouldn't be there. If you have a 1Ω build, but the mod is reading it at 2Ω, it will fire at a high voltage causing the hot/burnt vape.

Coil placement can also affect vape temp. Got some pics of your build?

I did neglect to include the wire gauge used and it was 28 which was the smallest gauge I had on hand.
But I broke it down, cleaned it up and used one of the coils I wound with the wire that came with the tank which seemed to be in the 22/24 gauge and it came out to 1 ohm.
I dry fired it and did a better job of the squeeze to get the coil firing across the complete coil...something I did not do on the first build. Beginners fumble!!
Then I wicked it with a longer/thicker wick...Japanese organic cotton and made sure I had the cotton all the way to the bottom of the tank to the juice channels...
I then soaked the wick to the extreme, fired and everything seemed to be fine.
put it back together, filled it and was immently rewarded with a near perfect vape.
I love this thing as it is now...but know it can give me a little more of the vape I'm looking for..which is a little cooler while not draining my batter so quickly. I'm using a HANA 30Watt clone with a single 18650 and I'm only getting about 50/60 good draws so I need to address these two issues and I'll be a happy, happy vaper!!

I know this is going to be my tank of choice until someone comes up with a better one that has the nice air flow adjustment and the top fill that works so well for me.
I have to say this again....This is my first RTA...so I can't compare it with any other. I just know that I did not want a leaky, bottom fill through a screw/plug type RTA....and so far this tank fits the mold of what I consider a good deal!!

Thanks for the response.

Ahhh...yes, pinching the coil to make sure it's firing evenly is important. Sounds like your first coil had a nasty hot spot.

I believe the included wire is 24ga nichrome. Haven't tried it myself. 26ga Kanthal will probably get you closer to the vape you're looking for.

Glad you're enjoying the Lemo now.

Yes VaPeis..I had a nasty burn spot in the middle of the wick due not doing the compression. I just went to the mailbox and retrieved some 22/24 gauge Kanthal and I'm going to give the 24 a try and see if I can get me a .5 to .7 ohm coil and see how that does.
Why doesn't all manufactures make the top fill like this jewel has?? I just can't imagine having to take the tank off, find my screwdriver/or tweezers to remove fill screw/plug and then reassemble. This one feature is worth any short comings it has...or as I see it now.
Thanks again for you help!

Picked up a lemo 2 today at a local b&m here in idaho. Filled it up figuring it came with a coil built, forgot to prime it and poof fried the cotton. 5 builds later and about 7ml of juice finally got a build to my liking. That didnt give me dry hits and tasted like ..... 28 gauge twisted build at 2.4mm. Made the wick way thinner that i normally do in my drippers. Cut the wicks a mm short above the juice wells. Firing .6 ohms at 26 watts. Producing some nice vapor could be a lil more thicker but great for a single coil. Deff digging the top fill

Side note don't forget to close the air holes when filing. Ask me how i found out

Can someone post pictures of thier coils and wicking methods for handling higher VG juices? I'm still having some trouble with dry hits. I have a 2.5 mm 24 gauge spaced wrapp on right now. I used japanese cotton cut it to a little above the deck, juiced it, put the sleeve on and adjusted wicks so the channels were clear and I'm still getting regular dry hits when take more then a full pulls. I've also tried loosening the top cap a bit and still nadda. I usually have to close off the airflow and pull some into the chamber to stop the dry hit. I feel like I'm missing something and I'm not sure what.

3mm spaced coils and very minimal wicking. This tank wicks better than any rta I've had. Just have enough wick to reach the deck and lots of space between the wick and inlets.

Thanks...I feel like I have that but I'm still getting dry hits. I cut the tails to be about even with the circle of the inner deck, then a little more trimming. I slid the sleeve on, wet the wicks down and positioned the tails against the block of the positive and negative terminals. I left the inlets free and clear. Just seems like juice isn't saturating the wicks quickly enough.

Try dialing the airflow back, get more vacuum pressure, that could help.

Thank You Grendel, I've tried the Fat Daddy screws and wasn't very happy, the thumb screws were soooooo tiny that they were all but useless. I ordered 20 each of the 3mm and your 4mm for my 5 Lemos (5ml and Drops) just to cover ALL bases. I used your Amazon link. Thanks again partner.
You're welcome. The original screws are 3 mm in length. I just went 4mm to give myself a little more thread engagement when trapping twisted wire under the screws . They still screw all the way down. Naturally, they sit a little higher when using post holes to mount coil but that's no biggie to me.
