Those look nice and all, but what is the bore ID where the tip sets into the atty? If they are the ones I think they are they are only about 2.5-3mm ID going into the atty. The tip Russ posted has a 6mm bore through the entire tip. I sent him the first one he got. They can be had from Avid...
Ultra Wide Bore 15mm Black Delrin Drip tip - Avid Vaper
Ultra Wide Bore 15mm Stainless Drip tip - Avid Vaper

$2 versus $5-$7 for the sake of 1mm

the SS ones are nice but on subΩ builds gets a little hot, below .4 I only use the black un's. :)

I've recently been enjoying 1/8 airholes aswell which is a little smaller then the DT ID so I have no real bottlenecks in the airflow:p

Holy cow! That drip tip's bore is huge! Is there something to gain from large-bore drip tips or is it just a purely personal preference?

you can get more air through plus it stops juice being sucked up like you get with small id, it certainly hasn't lowered any flavour going bigger on DT and airhole for me, if anything it's opened it up and made it much better, I been using that nano coil that I posted a pic of with this setup and its giving the dual ugly coil I had at .2Ω a run for its money (taste is much better on the nano)

You might not think that 1mm makes much of a difference, but for those of us that have tried them are sold on the performance. I, personally, will never use a DT with that small an opening ever again. It is like night and day in vape quality.

and what size airhole?

I only have a 5/64" airhole...

So is it more for a lung hitter's setup? I've always gone for smaller drip tips because I found them more comfortable to use. I don't lung hit, nor do I go super low on resistance (0.7-0.8 is my sweet spot), is there something to gain for me from a bigger drip tip? Thanks!

I run a .9Ω micro, nothing real special, but it is a great vape though. I do more of a natural mouth to lung type hit, much like I did when I smoked analogs. I have found since using the straw from Avid and the cloud chaser from Cherry vapes I get no condensation build up in my atty anymore. For me, I feel like the flavor and vapor is a lot better as well.

No I'm a mouth to lung only. This tip isn't any wider than other tips but the bore is much wider. It's thinner Delrin. Perfect. Talking about the avid vaper ones. Let's refer to them as straws cause that's what they remind me of - a Starbucks venti straw :)

The cloud chaser tip is wider. I didn't like the proportions of it :)

yup! so your bottle necking your airflow and not taking full advantage of it, that 1mm that your talking about that's giving you a so say night and day experience your losing more then that on your air intake. All in all I have way more airflow then what you are getting with your extra 1mm

I wont be buying any, I shall be sticking to these ones from FT>>https://www.fasttech.com/products/1447706 farfar cheaper and the quality for what we know about fast tech on these DT's is excellent :D you can get a 5 pack for the price of one they things your buying lol

Its all good Eel... I'm not losing anything on my vape. In fact I have gained from where I was at. I'm not into the whole super subΩ cloud chasing thing and not a "real" lung hitter, so I'm all good. I'm not quite sure where you would get the idea my setup is bottlenecked since the inside diameter of my DT at the base is the same as your DT's od at the base. Sounds like yours is the one creating a bottleneck. Maybe if you had a larger ID at the base of your DT you wouldn't need an 1/8" air hole in your atty... Just thinking outloud...

HAHAHAA yeah is all cool man! hey i'm running a .5Ω nano and sometimes run at .2Ω hence the reason for big air.

I've had these tip's for a while now and used them with the same size airintake as you are now, they tasted good and didn't get any harshness. Opening up my intake was a gain, the only way for me to get better taste is to poor my juice into my mouth

How could the ID on your tip be the same size as my OD? or are you telling me it is actually wider and wont fit into my rm2?

Lets cover the bottle necking lol the smallest hole my DT side is 5mm and 1/8 intake you have 6mm & 5/64<< you see where im coming from? :D

Now you got me vaping without a DT and looking at 9/64 drill bit for more air, I hope your happy with yourself

Mouth to lung is about the best kind of draw on this thick thing supe, probably one of the closest things to a real analog experience that I own. This original black Immo and Black Phantom Titan now sportin' a fresh batch of KGD!

attachment.php

Been working up to this favorite (I own 4 Immo's) which I prefer for their wonderfully rich vapor texture. This one's on it's third iteration of a wind of 0.5 x 0.1, 4/5 3/32” 2.38mm @ 1.03Ω. Naturally, it is a tensioned ceramic pulsed coil that has held together now on its third berth having run on the ZNA @ 1.12Ω, relaxed to 1.32Ω for a brief stint on an black flat-top eVic and now one of my most delightful hand holds.

Usually for expediency at this Ø I run a single wick cut close on one end, split into bunny tails on the other which then wrap opposite each other within the inner walls of the Immo. These soak quite well with all cotton, Eko and Nextel. Lately, I've been doing a mustache. Basically two wicks in this instance, more than 3/8" of unseparated KGD cut into two pieces. Pressed together pretty firmly then slightly rolled. Short tips are very finely compressed and inserted one side first and the second drawn by a fine tipped needle-nose tweezers. If I can't grasp the second in this manner, I simply compress the start of the first wick to the bottom or side of the coil and insert the second alongside it. Sometimes a fine needle forceps is needed to hold the first in place.

The reason for this madness is twofold. To introduce as much density into this very fine coil and take advantage of its output. Secondly, to reinforce the coherence of the coil by matching the tension at the end turns. These atty's are difficult to manage resistance on and anything that can help stabilize and prolong the consistency is helpful. And a good lengthy dense KGD wick here, given the performance, almost lets you forget it's a dripper. This and the authentic Trident/M16 in the background are the marathon drips I can enjoy a carefree evening at home with immersed in that new Blu-ray and surround sound.

The result with KGD was as expected but not anticlimactic at all…just the superlative vape at least equaling the best of my prior builds on this atty. Great directional flow through that bi-directional wick so fast break in. Just outstanding supe. I'm flavor sensitive and the JC samples I've experienced so far have held up better than all others. So those of you who set 'em aside might want to pull those Immo's and give 'em a try with this. It's about as good as it gets.

Just now ran a test on the wide bore theme I threw the Vapelife wide-bore (background) pulling the 2puffs and orig 3mm mini wide bore I had on it to see. And I agree with muzic in general on the w/b when you have the right wick/wind production set it positively pumps up the volume. On this it overstates the draw, thinning both flavor and output diffusing both. A DT is as much a matter of preference and pleasure as the forks and knives with sit to dinner with. It kinda depends on your appetite.

:D

Good luck all. Enjoy the vape.

If I could get a Grand out the door for $100 I would be all over it, but add the RM2 and spare fixings it's closer to $200.

I know they provide $200 worth of vape and are utterly convenient but...I just can't pull the trigger. Maybe for my one year vaperversary I will snag one (technically three year just not consecutive).
