My DID and ZAP. 400 mesh, the ZAP has 2 of the prerolled wicks that came with it, it's reading 1.6ohms with 30g kanthal. The DID has 400 mesh, rolled solid with 30g kanthal and meters 1.1ohms. Both are perfect!

BTW jasl90, I tried building a coil for my VV today; you asked about that with the dc. (1.6Ω with rat-tail liquid aerator) I'm going back to superlow resistance. (You mentioned considering a mechanical mod.)

So what purpose does the rat tail wick serve? Why run it through all 3 holes? (Other than blocking the fill hole without making it air tight.)

Main purpose, killing a Saturday morning. Secondary, I thought if I lined up the airhole, I would draw air across the fresh juice. It works but its just silliness.

Lol... If you look back at post #52, that's my normal setup. The wick I put in today is the longest I've used at one time. I'm used to rolling up a wick and then cutting it into 1/3rds.

The wick you have in that thing... That would wick a couple dozen of my little micros. Lol

I do like the idea of using rolled mesh to plug the fill hole though.

I've made probably 8 or 9 setups so far, but this is by far my best work. Petar K method. 4/3 wrap of 28awg metering to about .9 or 1 ohm, 500 mesh wrapped on a paperclip, only lightly oxidized. Wicks like a champ, I could probably wrap a 3/2 coil for lower ohms and still have a great vape off of this wick. View attachment 181397

So a 3 wrap would work well with a 28awg kanthal huh

That is probably the most handsome wick I've ever seen. How much mesh is in there? By the time I get to .6-.7Ω I find I like to bring about 5" of 500 along for the ride. That, though, is with a 4/5 of 26g.
