I noticed you are using a Solo rda.
I get good flavor, but can't figure out why it has air holes in the top of the posts.
Seems like the airflow comes in at the side, and is being pulled up through the top air holes, instead of directed at the coils.
I know there are tabs inside the cap that could cover these holes, but then the side air is in the wrong spot.
Maybe my clone is missing something, not sure about this rda.

First of all kudos for all the effort, craftsmanship and patience you folks put into your builds shown in this thread.

What you should keep in mind is a phenomenon called thermal capacity. In a nutshell: the more wire you need for your coil, the more energy you need to heat it up. With some of the builds here you would likely hit the 10 sec. cutoff at 30-35W before you get some decent vape (ok, exegeration, but i'm sure you get the point). So what you might need is a rather small coil like a thin clapton or twisted wire – or much higher power settings.

From a personal experience: i fiddled around with claptons, twisted and a prebuild alien (or whatever that was) and honestly: i couldn't tell any difference. For me, the tank itself (airflow, chamber size, chimney diameter, mouthpiece, ..) is far more important for the experience than the shape of the coil and the wire. After i started vaping i tried a lot of different stuff and for many moons now i'm settled on MTL at 14-18W and only use simple 28GA wire to keep my builds easy and the thermal capacity low. Ramp up is very fast and it's enough to keep drawing for .5 sec after releasing the firebutton to cool down the coil.

Don't get me wrong. I really like to look at photos of all these exotic builds, but it's just nothing that improves my vaping experience. My recommendation to you is: buy some exotic wire or even prebuild coils and find out if they improve your style of vaping. If you like it and want to make your own coils, ask the experts and look for videos on YT how to do it.

Nothing better than a 3mm, 7/6, 316LSS crammed with billowy Rayon in a Stumpy. Less is way more for me as well.
