This will be the last time I discuss this. Below is what I wrote on the other thread. If someone else can post evidence rather than garbage on this, fine.

1) Phishing sites try to get you to enter banking or credit card info, not your freakin' email address! There are MUCH easier ways to do that!
2) Using the tool "Whois" we can see from the link that the site is from Chesterbrook, PA. USA!! Vapyawards.com - Va p Ya Wards
3) Using GEOtool we can verify that on a map! Geotool

Now the only question I have is why and who would start such a rumor? Now I could be wrong and voidnil could be the Anti Christ, but I haven't been spammed and I'm the one getting the votes in my email to tally them up. I need to think for a bit and determine if all this is even worth my time.

OK, maybe I'm too laid back but this kind of made my morning in a twisted way. Maybe it won't seem as funny after a Monday of work, but right now I laughed. I swear I'm not from China. I'm from Salt Lake City, UT. I saw Pete45's idea and registered the domains with 1&1 because they are reasonably priced and I am doing this out of pocket just because I thought it seemed like such a cool idea. The site asks for an email address because I don't want people just sending in tons of votes and messing up the results. I will absolutely never provide those emails to anyone else. I had thought it would be a good idea to keep the voter records in the database so that everyone could use the same info next year but I think I will go ahead and delete everything in that table as soon as voting is done and we can just start again fresh next year.

I'm guessing what started this is that someone noticed the contact info on the site is for 1&1. That is just the company I bought the domain names from. Anyone who buys a domain name from them will show that info by default. I have no relation to anyone else they sell domain names to ... I'm just a guy in Utah who thought this sounded like a cool idea. They probably also register domain names to porn sites. I swear I have never made porn ... there were those pictures that one night ... my wife swore nobody would see them!!!

easy points to be cleared up by the site owner please.

1. privacy policy where is it on your site i did not see one.
2. the claim of it being linked to a china supplier please find out why it is.
1 and 1 should be able to tell you.
3. list what happens when users hit submit on the site maybe even an about us and who you are can help alleviate some concerns. remember not ever one will be an ECF member who finds that site.
4. when i saw the site i got the feeling it was to do two things one harvest email address and sites to spam or devices to parody like what happened to the silver bullet . in fact my yahoo spam filter did filter it.
